It just may be the rest of the summer schedule worked out better, ports and all, starting with Sunday cruises, so its cheaper to circle at sea rather than sit in port for 24 hours.

the arrival date has less to do with when they can get there vs what works for scheduling

ITA, it probably has to do with the availability of Mexican ports than San Pedro. Typically most cruises from LA take 2 days to come back up the coast.

It may be the other ports on the Mexican Riviera were not available on certain days so a Sunday cruise made more sense

Yes thats a strong possibility. As other lines do go there and for example at Cabo when you tender, it would put pressure on the system with two ships.

More reasons to have one ship, lets say the Magic based permanently at LA to get the best slots over other cruise lines, until then if the come and go every three years they will suffer.

The Pirates Page on the Website has been updated with a whole bunch more Pirates. We are now over 250 pirate:s featured. We even have another pharmacist, so we should be even better medicated. :lmao: :lmao:

I remember chatting with her back in the early part of last year. She can help out with Mike's on board clinical rotation. Hear that Mike, classes start at 7am daily. :rotfl2:

Lead paint in a sleeping bag???? How do get paint of any sort in a sleeping bag? Did someone spill? Why would anyone want to sleep in a painted bag?
.

AHHHH. Go read the recall notice stupid, where's it's all explained... :rotfl2:

Hazard:The surface paint on the sleeping bag’s zipper pull contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard

Egads!! Here I am on Saturday morning talking to myself. I'd better leave and find something more productive to do. Sheez.

DD8 just showed me a birthday card that she made for her friend's party tomorrow. It was really cute, with a really colorful design on it. then i opened it up and saw that she wrote "You're the beast!":lmao:

I did point out the mistake, so her friend will still be her friend.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Announcement

Anyone who would like to be included in a roll call / roster of pirate:s should make a post on the planning board roster thread asking to be included.

This will ultimately result in a printable roster. We respect and value everyone's privacy, so we will not include anyone's information without their consent. :thumbsup2 Give a quick post and you will be included.

Tomorrow the Magic will be arriving in LA for the first time in 3 years. Unfortunately when it arrives there will be little fan fair as the Westbound cruisers pull in to port somewhere between 5-6am. For those of you wishing to possibly catch a glimpse as she pulls in, there is a web-cam at Cabrillo beachthat points back to the entrance into San Pedro. I do not guarantee that you can catch it but if you look at the view pointing back at the port that looks like this.

If you look below the camera you can click on "Check out recent images" and you want to click on camera 51 or 52. This morning the camera was not up until 6:30 so it may miss the Magic.

So for the afternoon the Magic has all aboard at 4pm and I assume she will sail sometime between 4:30-5pm. My family will be there tomorrow and hopefully San Pedro and Disney will put on an extravaganza like they had in 2005. In 2005, we had blimps, fire boats and kites to send her off. We will be there about 3-3:30 tomorrow to set up the camera equipment. Anyone interested in coming down and meeting us, just look for the Captain Jack Logo on my shirt. I know there will a lot of people there to see her off.

I just checked our return flights on Sep 3 on Southwest. Our tickets went down from $105 to $64! So now we have a $205 credit to use toward our flights in January!

If you're booked on SW, you may want to double check to see if your fares went down.

Mike, that rocks !!

Ours went up $20 pp for each way. Glad I bought them already!

Must be doing something right when you've spent more of your life with your spouse than without. :flower:

Rob and I reached that mark this year. We met and started dating in Jan 1988, so this past Jan, we celebrated 20 years together. We will both turn 40 this year, so we have officially been together more than half our lives.

In June, we will celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary!

CONGRATS!!! Joel and I have been together for 16 years, but it will be our 12th anniv in Sept (he was on the slow plan for asking someone to marry him he he:rolleyes: )

I like that.."the slow plan".

Yeah, DH and I were dating for 5 years before he "officially " proposed.
He must have been on the slow plan as well:confused3

22 years together, almost 16 married:upsidedow

Dan & I probably met in 1984 (sorry, neither of us remembers where/when!) - we started dating in early 1985. We were married in 1989, so next month will be our 19th Anniversary. We have been together for 24 years. I just turned 43 and Dan will turn 42 in October, so we have been together more than half our lives :thumbsup2 I just never thought of it that way before!

We aren't doing anything special with the holiday weekend - just trying to catch up around here with the yard work and house cleaning! We really fell behind the last few weeks when we were working on the plant sale. On Monday, we might go over to my parents and grill dinner - but we do that several times over the summer, so it isn't really a "holiday" thing. If there is time, I may take DS9 to the Fine Arts Festival at a nearby town - he would probably really enjoy it since anything to do with Art is up his alley :)
