:goodvibes YEP! Bossy, headstrong women! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've been on the phone with Katherine for the past hour.....her dh has now decided that it is *a stupid idea* to go to a *Theme Park* for vacation in Sept!
Her 25th b-day is in August and this is her b-day present!!! I told her it didn't matter if liked the idea or not it isn't his b-day. ;)
I told her that I would front her the money for the ressie and that I KNOW that her Granny (MIL) will give it to her! That way her dh doesn't have to go or pay for it! ;)

I told her last summer to rethink marrying someone that doesn't understand Disney! :thumbsup2

Claire & Elvis will be sooo disappointed if he doesn't meet us in WDW! He also doesn't want to spend any of his time with us -- I don't think he knows that she tells me this stuff.:rolleyes1
SHe told him that her family is fun -- unlike his!:scared1:

Aaaahhhh.... the first year of marriage! :rotfl:

Lots of negotiating the first few years:hug:
DH's family and mine are very different also, we've managed to compromise over the years:confused3 I'm sure Katherine and her DH will also:hug:

After reading 'The Path Between the Seas' I sort of got the PC bug. The following arrived today:

The Building of the Panama Canal in Historic Photographs - Book
NOVA: A Man, a Plan, a Canal - Panama - DVD
Panama Canal Map by Cruise Map Publishing Company - Map
The Panama Canal: The Story of how a jungle was conquered and the world made smaller (Wonders of the World Book) - Childrens Book

I'm hip... 2 and 1/2 hours later

:worship: :worship: :worship: Tom would be the one on the right. :rotfl:

Nice hat Tom.

:lmao:

Ok, so here was my "story" that lead to us cancelling the cruise and getting 100% back before tomorrow...

I'm not sure whether to offer hugs, pixie dust, or a smilie with a bazooka.
Your choice.

Maybe DCL can send you a nice letter telling yu why you aren't registered! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Dear Stacey,
Thank you for choosing The Pirate Zone by DCL. I am sorry that you are having problems registering with the site. Please register with the site to solve this problem.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Sincerely,
Pirate Zone Runaround Supervisor

Is there anything else I can book for you ma'am? :rotfl:

Only if you're buyin' :)

When did you scream? I didn't hear you scream? Must have been after we hung up.

Maybe that was just in my head.

And a whole lot of posts dedicated to a certain unnamed sk8ingmom stirring up trouble with people on other threads and here and....

wait Wait WAIT! What trouble on other threads? I only cause trouble here.
Just ask Stace.

M? Sweet Lil' M? Nah... :sad2:

She's the second most INNOCENT person here.

:rotfl2:

Exactly!

Oh well... so now M is more INNOCENT then Cheryl and Andrew now?

< shifty silence as my eyes dart left and right >

Sheesh. I'm gone for a few hours and I get all this.

Ahhhh....so we all get to guess which DH you all have been talking to for so long and it's my first time :) he he....... I would be Mrs. Joel110

Hello Mrs. 110!

Wow crazy night..I stayed up/tried until 12:30pm and that was enough for me!

The good news is our number one priority the Sig Dolphin Swim in PV we were able to get! I got in with in seconds to get it but then my story ends there! I tried for the next 25min to get brunch...selected the 10:30 slot and the site booted me....

This AM I booked the Best of Cartagena(Back up for mr emerald),a spa and palo dinner..alas no brunch...I will try at 75 and then on ship if need be...

Got some bummer news today..my summer employment fell thru....don't kow what I am going to do (don't worry cruise will not be affected!)

Chrissie

Then I am happy and sad for you.

Oh yeah . . . here we go . . . back with the Mothers Day jokes, eh? :lmao:

However, the Moms just might need a personal chaplain at their Brunch and Tea! :worship:

...or a confessor.

I can't wait until week 2 when Father Mike has to turn his closet into a confessional.

Maybe we all could have a brunch outside of Palo's.:cool1: There could be a huge crowd!!;)

THAT'S IT!!
Pick a morning when we can all grab muffins and fruit at Goofy's & just pop ourselves down, en mass, in front of the Palo windows!

DH is lurking over my shoulder and wanted me to add: in Speedos.

Hi,
I'm Johnna, Peter(Darthrugby)'s wife and Jack's (Fincantieri) sister. I have been following the thread since Booking(1/07). Looking forward to meeting all of you

Hi Johnna!

Ummm, what guns?

Monica (Got2Travel) and I (pdarrah) have been discussing the Grown-up Princesses night. According to Laura's blog on the Westbound trip, the Prince and Princess dinner was on semi-formal night. We have all been talking about having our event on the 2nd Formal night, but would it be better to have it on the night of the Prince and Princess dinner? If it is a semi-formal, would that be a problem for wearing gowns, tiaras and maybe even evening gloves? The theme would fit right in, but it is possible that others would be less dressed up.

Rather than make an "executive decision" on this, we decided it was time for yet another poll! Although we don't know yet WHEN any of these evenings are, please select which you would prefer for the Grown-up Princesses.

Pamela

I'll go vote, but I'd like to lobby here as well. To me, Princess night on semi formal night means bringing 3 formals, which I'm not real interested in doing. And for picture purposes, I'd like to have my menfolk in tuxes on princess night and that isn't going to happen on semi-formal. It would be fun to match it with the night, but I'm still voting for 2nd formal.

Ok...so....here's my 2 cents on the whole Palo booking issue.

DCL intentionally offered very limited availability for Brunch and Tea, knowing many of us were planning on fitting both (or at least one) into the schedule. Given that there are 7 sea days, it really doesn't make any sense to be shut out of brunch. (See math above).

So, what would be the motivation for the limited availability? Hmmmm....think about that while you watch Mickey swim....while you check the "online plans" section just one more time, in hopes of catching that brunch that might pop up online.

Then think about it again tomorrow as you check the "online plans" section yet again. Before you know it, some of the other options start to sound better. Hmmm...look...there's still couples' cabana massages. Hmmm....maybe I'll book that instead of the Palo brunch we had planned for our anniversary. Yeah...that's it...it's a TOAL and we're worth it, and besides it means I can give the brunch bookings a rest. (Please feel free to substitute any excursion/spa treatment/fitness booking/other pre-booked expenditure in lieu of my example.)

Bottom line--I think the limited brunch bookings are meant to enhance DCL's bottom line. Guest services is blatently telling people to check back often. Why? Because the more often we see the other MORE EXPENSIVE offerings the more likely those offerings will make it into our cruise plans.

(Oh....and I'll edit to add....There will be a number of people who book something instead of the brunch knowing they'll stand in line to try to get the brunch on Embarkation Day. In the moment that the Palo staff assigns a date/time, DCL comes out smelling like a rose for finally giving us what we wanted. Wow! What great Guest Service....right?)

Good point Enna.

Another theory: they know already that many groups are trying to reserve the private room for brunch. Maybe they are holding back a brunch or 2 to look like heros by offering 1/2 of Palo (or whatever) to the groups that can't get the private room.

And what was up with that every where? Aruba is not in the system?

Which I found fascinating since the freaking ship was there a few days ago!

Hi from not so sunny Philadelphia.

DH is on his way home to Florida after a long night of trying to load the DCL site. He is complete computer novice and provided a person to complain too as DD and I tried over and over and were timed out. We gave up at about 2 AM and then DD woke up at 4 Am and was able to book a dinner at Palo and the one excursion we wanted.

This is going to be a very relaxed and non-scheduled trip so we only booked one. Dd was able to book two spa treatments -- that now being an employed individual she can actually afford.

We are disapointed that we couldn't get a Palo brunch which is really a favorite of ours but we are still hopefull that some will open up soon.

Tomorrow I'm off on the road again to Bethlehem PA to help DD begin to pack up her apartment to get ready for her July move. We try to keep up but it is a loosing battle -- every time we log in 20 or 30 pages have appeared. Hope everyone is successful in getting at least most of what they wanted.

Barbara

Just popping in to say hi! DH (alanapapa) DD14, DD9 and I snagged a GTY Cat 5 cabin yesterday! We had to do some fancy footwork to get it paid today, but we did! I can't believe we are cruising again in 89 days! This will be our 3rd DCL cruise. We did a 3 day in July '05, 7 day Eastern in March of '07 with my Mom and now we are on the EB Repo! :cool1: Looking forward to getting to know people! DH and I are are already signed up for The Pirate Zone, now we just have to try and catch up with everything!

That's what I told her! ;)
She reminded him that she spent a week in KC helping his mom/dad/weird brother move his grandma and she got to sit in the car with them while they all argued :headache: We are not the type of family that argues...... we laugh alot. :goodvibes

I also told her that her daddy had me check to see about adding her to the cruise.... ;) She had really wanted to book this cruise opening day but, her dh wn't do a Disney cruise... but, he told her to book the WDW trip and then today was telling her what a waste of time/money it would be.... money is not an issue. It really hurt her feelings. :sad2:
I'm sure he didn't realize that laughing at her idea of a fun trip would hurt her feelings.....

oh man, three hours to ketchup. Try not to be on the next iteration of the thread by morning. please?

Good Knight !!

Thanks so very much to many who sais hello on my first day :) I'm grateful. While the DH has been online for soooooo very long, I've been quiet so I hope to get to know some of you better while we "build up" to our trip!!

Hi, I'll help. Just let me know. Just joined the cruise 3 weeks ago. My first cruise - but my friend has cruised several times.
Georgiana

What a great first cruise for you, Georgiana! Welcome!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I tried that and it printed out miniature. I'll have to try e-mailing it to myself.

I ended up highlighting the info, copying, pasting into a word doc, and printing that -- it worked well.

Liar, liar, pants on fire. You guys wrote fifteen pages whilst I was on the toll road.

Thank God that they have HIGH SPEED free internet here. And their high speed is really that. So many places are not very fast. :thumbsup2

I guess the high speed makes up for the rooms here. YIKES! Can you say "dump"?

:lmao: Hey I said we wouldn't post anything important, not that we wouldn't post;)
Glad you got your internet:thumbsup2
