I would expect so. After all, Disney sent the letter, so it *must* be true......Hassle Free

If this is their idea of small, I hate to see the gym tonight!
Oohhh special cruises! I guess the first double dip cruise wasn't special enough. hehe thanks! I didn't know we'd get that!BIP, it's only on "special" cruises . . . but this one is definitely special and we will get one -- even you! It will just show up in your cabin at turn down one night, I am guessing around PC crossing.
Is tiffany the name on ebay or can you pm me the link or something? From Tiffany on Ebay.

I don't think they changed those letters from their regular Caribbean sailings to what is needed for the EB. If you call them they will tell you that you need a passport. You cannot go into South America without one.
On Disneycruise.com it also states the following
"Please visit the U.S. Department of State website at http://travel.state.gov or call the U.S. National Passport Information Center at 877-4USA-PPT for the most current requirements. "
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/myCruise/landing?name=PassportDetailPage
I would take this to mean that each person should check with that site to make sure you have proper documentation depending on the stops your cruise is making
From the State.gov website only 17 locations in the Caribbean plus Canada, Mexico and Bermuda are listed for places that a passport is not needed when on a cruise. All other ports require a passport

Well I called DCL (Castaway Club) they confirmed the info in the letter. I then asked about calling in Cartegena - she went off to double check and came back with the same answer![]()
Clearly a Passport is the optimal solution.

Yeah I think the feds have changed their mind so many times that Disney gave up trying to keep up with them! When we signed up for the cruise a few weeks ago their system wouldn't let us book without a passport number for everyone. We didn't have DDs yet so we put my info in there to get it to work LOL. I called and they said passports are not necessary (right now) but if you get stuck somewhere, it's a good idea to have a passport.
I spoke with a supervisor at Disney and they did admit that the letter that went out was the same for the WB and EB sailings, when actually they should have been different

Our Disney store closed a couple of months ago. It was kind of sudden and we were sad.
How old are your kids and do they swim year round?
Ah, inconsistency.
So, I decided to go to the ultimate source (the state department site only summarizes the DHS site). Based on the links at the end, here's what the current rules are:
1. The Western hemisphere (WHTI) list of countries only applies after June 1, 2009. This will require passports or other WHTI secure documents for travel to the listed countries.
2. Starting Jan 31, 2008, the prior practice of allowing oral declaration for entry to the U.S. ended. Over 18 requires proof of citizenship plus photo ID. Under 18 requires proof of citizenship.
3. There is no statment that a passport is required for land/sea entries from countries outside of the Carribean. The focus is that for those countries in the Carribean, verbal declarations of citizenship are no longer acceptable.
4. Without a passport, it may not be possible to enter certain countries. This may be where DCL would require a passport - though they seem inconsistent on this.
I'm going to try to call DHS tomorrow and get some clarification. For the moment, what I'm seeing suggests that the letter is correct. Of course passports are obviously highly recommended.

Yep so I can't even look to see what's booked till I try to go book it. Which stinks! They should have a way for me to at least see what's already booked up so that I can make other plans before I try to book

Hi,
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I've been busy so haven't had a chance to get on in several days. Last Thursday was DD's end-of-the-year awards ceremony for Brownies.
Off to see how much I can ketchup on!

Do we get a peek????? I'd be thrilled to see it as I'm still in my "creative mode" working on what I'd like to make for the cruise

There is also a possibility of a private excursion in Cartagena with Mr. Emerald - but several of us have booked a backup tour with DCL in case Mr. Emerald doesn't work out.
Palo - only dinner reservations are showing. But, someone from the WB Repo reported that there was lots of Brunch and Tea ressies available once on board.
Hope that helps.

We're doing a pair of FE's based on the Red/Blue FE, but one will use graphics from the gold FE. One will be on our room, the other on the ajoining room.
Andy
and there is a problem going down to the bottom of the sea with Leo? I don't see one!I think it's some strange maritime law going back a way... If you board after the mandatory lifeboat drill, and the ship hits an iceberg, you get locked below decks with the 3rd class with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.....
Fortunately, in this age of global warming, the chances of hitting an iceberg have decreased dramatically. I'm sure any day now they will eliminate all lifeboats in order to be able to offer more rooms with verandas. ::cop:
Our DD9 is bridging on Sunday!CONGRATS on the brownie ceremony! My dd9 gets to "bridge up" in June (those of us at a certain age used to call it flying up back in the day) it's neat to see them get their award/patches/achievements......
I like it!This is mine from Tiffany
