Kim
Now we are both afraid that people think we had www.donny.com bookmarked!

I can fit Kevin Bacon (& me!) in there:
Daniel Craig in Golden Compass with Nicole Kidman
who was married to Tom Cruise
who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon & Keifer Southerland
who was in The Lost Boys with Christopher Bowman
who was in 3 ice shows with me!
Yes, I am 3 degrees from Kevin Bacon - aren't you glad you know me??![]()

He was pretty amazing for a guy who never actually bothered to practice.
He was also the figure skater most likely to OD and die in a seedy motel room (besides Tonya Harding). So sad.
It was really sad...he died of a drug overdose in some motel..I think it was like a Budget Inn or something here in LA. I love figure skating..a few years back (can't remember which year - whenever the last Nationals were here in LA) my DH bought tickets for the 3 of us to go watch the exhibitions that the medalists did. It was so incredible..we were in the 2nd row and really enjoyed it. My family knows..when I have ice skating on..either sit down and watch or leave me alone!![]()
It really was sad. He was just a guy who never had control of his life. Sure not the thing that put him over the edge, but his my was the stereotypical psycho stage/skating mom.
LA Nationals was 2002. That must have been a great show.
You are getting Worlds in 2009. Last one before 2010 Olympics, should be amazing. Get tickets if you can!
I was going to say how sad I was about Christopher Bowman's death when you first said you had skated with him . . . "Bowman the Showman" was something to see . . . Brian Boitano once said he had never seen anyone with more natural talent for skating, and of course no one threw it all away quite so spectacularly.
