My parents are still in RR. My sister graduated from the new Rio Rancho HS (well now it's like 10 yrs old LOL), went to NMSU briefly, UNM briefly, now she's doing nursing school in Abq. I am still "in the area" if you count 2 hours away as that :)We still visit Abq all the time since that's the closest "city". I love the mountains here so that's why I live in them now :)

We love visiting Abq! Fun museums, Love the zoo -- so small but, way cool! I love the sculptures in the parking lot!, shopping in Old Town.....can't get much better then that! And there used to be a couple of GREAT scrapbook stores!!!

Steve and I will have to lock you and Cherie in a closet if Harry is on board :lmao:

From Susan Egan's calendar I see that we still have a chance

I could take Harry with Laura and Cherie :lovestruc but Susan Egan again!!! She has a beautiful voice but so do lots of other entertainers that I have not seen!!:rolleyes1

this is what I really think of crocs

pirate:

Is that Dis Lime Green that is spewing from their mouths!!:lmao: :lmao:

;) - I figured I better get moving with my posts or everyone will think I am really dull -
Plus I really should get a
pirate.gif
before we leave for this TOAL

I think it only took me 80 tries before I got my first pirate: !!!:headache:

I was thinking of you yesterday afternoon (and that was why I came by the thread Sunday night, so really, it is all your fault). I was up your way as the family treated MWMBO (Mom who must...) to dinner at Texas de Brazil at Woodfield. Kept thinking I'd run into you saving money at Jacques Pennee's.

Friday nights are usually family night so I doubt I'll ever make chat, but I am glad the chat is coming in useful for y'all. I'm going to be pretty upset the day y'all sail (but we found out May 1 that we would have had to cancel anyway as DS14 wants to be in marching band and that means band camp the week before school starts -- right when the cruise would have been).

J.R........ MWMBO9 has expensive taste!!!:scared: That is one great restaurant.:thumbsup2 We were stuck with the manager in Orlando before the grand opening coming back from our first cruise almost three years ago. We spent 9 hours together trying to get a flight out. By the time we hit the plane.....I had a free meal and a private tour of the restaurant before the opening!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

I am glad it worked out for your TOAL in Paris!!! :yay: You and DW can come over and be bored with all our pictures and videos of what you missed!!;)

Dan - you don't need to drink - some people sipped on Diet Cola and or ice tea. The important thing was that we were together and celebrating.

Got late dining switched to 8:15 and this is working much better for us! :)

Momma's happy now. :rotfl:

When Momma is happy........Steve is happy!!

Did you file electronically or paper?

Electrons - you should have it already
Paper - July

Thanks for the depressing reminder.:headache: No check for me until May!!!!

just got an email from my DD Girl Scout Council...if a girl sells over 500 boxes of cookies..she is invited to a special event celebration...since my DD sold over 1000 boxes..her parents are invited too!

The event is going to the El Capitan theater (a beautiful theater out here which Disney owns) to see Prince Caspian. The only down side is that it isn't until June 8th which means 3 weeks after the movie comes out but it's a pretty cool event either way so DD and I are happy

Ok..back to work..trying to plan my final Girl Scout meeting of the year for tongiht and a schedule for our troop's trip to San Francisco for next year (parent meeting tomorrow night on this one).

Free Movie is good anytime!!

I saw that too. Wouldn't you think the older kids would be ready to die of embarrassment??? Enough already, you aren't jackrabbits!

I heard something hysterical on the CB. They said Duggar mom used her uterus as a clown car. :rotfl2: So appropriate!

Don't pick on me, Lisa. I'll set my mother on you!

mom.jpg

I love her!!! What a great picture!!! :cool1:

sunscreen.jpg

By the way, what sunscreen do you Panama Canal cruise experts recommend?

As a current skin cancer victim- I am bringing on suitcase full of broad spectrum 50 SPF. :rotfl2:
Actually the Neutrogena brand w/ Helioplex has all the things they recommend. I like it. Light and absorbs well.

What about Orlando Bloom?

Well at least there's a Disney connection! That would cause a minor riot wouldn't it?

He's not a bad looking guy, just doesn't do it for me. Not my type I guess. See, it's all about me. :)

Shucks, we will miss it by a week or so. We will be in Dallas/Ft. Worth on June 4-11. My inlaws live in Lewisville and my SIL and I are going to a scrapbook retreat in Ft. Worth that weekend (June 6, 7 & 8).

I forgot about that Terri- Wave when you drive by Marcus High School. :cheer2:

Oh, I love New Mexico Mexican food. I lived in NM for about 10 years, and the food is one of the things I miss most about NM. You cannot find good New Mexican food here in Houston.

Green sauce refers to sauce made with green chile. In restaurants, the servers will ask if you want "red or green" with your meal. Red sauce is sauce made with red chile. I, personally, love the green chile and the hotter, the better! When we visit my mom in NM, I eat green chile for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Last year, we even brought back a cooler full of frozen green chile. There's nothing like the smell of chile roasting! :goodvibes

Kim

Hatch Green Chile- nothing finer!!

That's what we use! I love it!!! It doesn't feel or smell like sunscreen!

I never want to tan or burn. I don't want any color what so ever on my skin or my childrens'!
I've never wanted to take a chance!

He's too young for me to think much about him.... I prefer over 40! :rotfl:

Small world! I moved to Rio Rancho back in 1981, graduated from Cibola in 1987 and then went to NMSU, where I met my husband. DH graduated from HS in Alamogordo and then received his bachelor's from NM Tech. Are you living in Albq/Rio Rancho right now? We're in Houston. It's not too bad, but it doesn't have mountains or good (New) Mexican food! :rotfl:

Kim

I actualy thought I got you two confused and I was asking same questions I had already asked. Y'all have a such similar background. Yay New Mexico!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Wow you guys were extremely chatty today. Barely got to ketchup and then Laura posted a novel :lmao: I guess I will be up late tonight reading.

Exciting evening here. Got into the house and DH takes the dog out and says he heard a bad accident at the corner. Happens all the time at night. The kids race thru the lights. :sad2: Then we hear the sirens so I went out to take a look see. Some poor guy was on a really expensive Harley, and apparently some kids sideswiped him. Of course they drove away. The noise DH heard was the sound of the Bike scraping against the curb. They said he was alert and talking to them. They landed the airlift on the 14th tee which is outside my condo. I tried to take some pics but the darn battery was conking out on me.Couldn't get the camera to stay on.( I didn't change them since Sat.:sad2: ) But did get 2 carppy pics. The first is the heliocopter which is really hard to see. I was surprised it didn't have any lights on it except for the side.Took him forever to land it.When the camera turned on again I got the 2nd which is an out of focus pic of the mess on the corner. The bike sustained very little damage. And the rider.......No Helmet!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Boy do I have a lot of catching up to do:sad2:

Okay...before I play ketchup......had too exciting of a Mother's Day.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

While at my daughter's house I got a phone call from my son that he was in a car accident!!! He was in a parking lot when some guy smashed into him at 40 miles an hour. The guy who hit my son was being followed by the local police and state police in Michigan. Sirens were going right after the guy hit him. My son flew out of his car because the police had guns drawn to apprehend the suspect. The suspect allegedly beat his wife, cut her face with glass and hit his son with a baseball bat. Son Is okay but car is totaled!! No fault insurance in that state so he got the bad end of the deal. The good news is he just got really banged up!!!

Glad your son is ok Cheryl:hug:

I OWE MY MOTHER

25. And my favorite: My mother taught me about JUSTICE.
"One day you'll have kids, and I hope
They turn out just like you."

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Reminds me of a "Children Learn What They Live" poster that my Mom used to have. I like this version better:lmao:

Hey M, don't you know that calling children "monkeys" is a horrible thing that can get you all over the front page of the newspaper ;) :rotfl2:

A town near here (where DH works) got tons of publicity lately. One of the aldermen (a hispanic woman) was concerned when she saw the children who live next door to her climbing around in a large tree on the edge of her property. She went out and told them it wasn't safe and "you monkeys need to come down from there". Suddenly, all sorts of hoopla - the Mom cries "Racism" and that the "comment was totally offensive". The children happened to be african american. This poor woman had all sorts of news coverage (radio, Chicago newspapers, etc) calling for her to step down as alderman and as an Obama deligate to the Democratic convention! It seems to have died down now, but since DH regularly calls the neighborhood kids "monkeys" as they climb all over DS's playset, I keep warning him to be careful he doesn't get kicked off the city's Environmental Commission for it! :rotfl2:

Can you believe how crazy these things get? Calling kids "monkeys" seems perfectly normal to me!

Pamela
How sad:sad2: Here she is looking out for her neighbor's kids and gets all this grief:headache:

Kristina & Laurie - you working on your ark yet???

Drought sounds awefully good right now:rolleyes:

Now we are both afraid that people think we had www.donny.com bookmarked!:scared1:

I was going to say how sad I was about Christopher Bowman's death when you first said you had skated with him . . . "Bowman the Showman" was something to see . . . Brian Boitano once said he had never seen anyone with more natural talent for skating, and of course no one threw it all away quite so spectacularly.

How about Nicole Bobeck????? She was a talent but couldn't get her act together either. I read a story the Dick Buttons told about at one of the major Comps, her coach had to sleep in front of the door to prevent her from partying thru the night.. So sad.

:rotfl: I think DH is the same way. He doesn't like me to wear them out of the house! I admit, they are kinda ugly, but they're so dern comfy. And really I haven't worn them except around the house/yard/block. I'll prolly bring my Tevas and sturdy shoes.

They may be ugly, but I LOVE my crocs! :lovestruc

For at least 15 years I wore ugly, clunky athletic shoes with custom orthotic insoles every single stinkin day - Crocs has been wonderful for me! The orthotic footbed works for me and I can wear them without sore feet, knees, hips, back, etc. I still wear the ugly athletic shoes when there is a lot of walking (ie WDW, museums) or if I know the terrain will be difficult (ie hiking through the woods) and maybe 2 or 3 times per week - BUT the rest of the time, I'm in crocs. I have at least 8 pairs in all different colors! I'll have to narrow it down to just a couple for the cruise...

Pamela

Not to be a downer but I received a sad letter in the mail.
Those who were around last summer remember my friend that shot her whole family and then killed herself. I got a letter from her Mother today. She said she could not bring herself to sending out Christmas cards due to the circumstances. She said that Andrea had just started taking Zoloft and they think she just had a bad reaction. (I'd say!)
Her mother also said in this whole time Michael's (Andrea's DH) family had never said one word to them. Now I understand the anger at her daughter from the husbands family but Andrea and Michael had been together for 25 years and married 20. If her closest friends did not relaize anything was wrong, I would think her own in-laws would know there had to have been something that was seriously wrong w/ Andrea.
I am sure it is too much for his family to get over but I cannot imagine what they have to benefit from not understanding they all are victims. This has aged her so much it is very sad.
I just wish there was some way I could comfort her Mom. :guilty:

I cheated, I have it linked in first post (that no one reads.....LOL)

Is that where we should look!!!:worship: :worship:

:scared1: John, who knew you were so funny? You gotta post more.

Do not encourage John!!!!:scared1: He should be working very hard so I can spend lots of money for TOAL!!!:goodvibes

He's been married to Cheryl for a milion years he HAS to have a sense of humor! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

J/K Love you, Cheryl!

Stepahnie...... it has been only 999,999 years since we have been married!!:rotfl: John's life is full of surprises because he never knows what I am going to do!!:rolleyes1 I keep his life one big surprise.

Really? Great scrapbook stores in Abq? Hmmm... Granted I haven't really done a lot of scrapbooking... I got a bunch of stuff from Archivers near my In-laws in Chicagoland.

I actualy thought I got you two confused and I was asking same questions I had already asked. Y'all have a such similar background. Yay New Mexico!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hehehe yeah it is very similar!

Are you all straightened out yet for all your excursions???confused3

Oh are we supposed to plan excursions? :rolleyes1 I can't book till 75 days anyway *sigh*

Hehehe If I were that worried I wouldn't have asked! I could go back and read everything that was posted to this board before I joined, but that's a little much since I just joined last week when we booked :) I'm sure I'm missing lots of inside jokes...

I still miss a lot of jokes too and I joined this thread last year:confused3 :)
