Kind of blew us out of the water as well..........but I think the fact that Hazel's brother (who is a few months younger than me) suffered what is believed to be a mild heart attack the other day, got Lina thinking a little bit about how important family really is.

All the best to your family and yes Family comes first, enjoy everything while you can, as life always throws the odd thing at you.

I sure hope he's OK.

Something similar happened to my uncle. His fiance never got around to setting a date. (For a couple of years.) He had a mild heart attack. The wedding is May 17th. :goodvibes (Yeah, he's OK.)

Further interesting post on the Acapulco thread, worth a read, active on that thread today.

TAXIS

You can take a port approved cab that will charge you about 9USD or you can walk out on the street to get a VW bug cab that will charge you 30 Pesos (3USD), difference is that the VW bug has no AC, no means of insurance and does not speak English. I always refer our cabs to insure passenger satisfaction.

Very useful information. Thank you.

Yes, Ray is home resting. He is an over the road truck driver and he was driving from NJ to Ohio when this took place. Ray did go off the road but did got injured. He has been ordered, by his doctor, "off the road" until tests and results come back in.

If two trains leave Chicago at 3:00, one on an eastbound track and one on a west bound track. The eastbound train is travelling at 22 mph and makes 7 stops for 5 minutes each. The westbound train is travelling at 18 mph and makes 15 stops of 2.5 minutes. During the trip, a passenger on the westbound train makes a cell call to a passenger on the eastbound train. How many more shirts need to be ordered to get a discount?

Anybody know what time the excursions/palo reservations will open online 5/19 for castaway members? (IE: 12am est, 8am est, I'm having a senior moment about this) Sorry if this has been discussed previously but the old message lists is a tad long.

Thanks!

Well here's the really cool part. My brother, who is cruising with us, owed me some money from last year. I asked him if instead of making the payment to me, he would make the payment to the cruise. I was expecting him to make a large payment to the cruise & then I was going to pay off the remainder. He paid off the full amount !!

How cool is he ?:cool2:

Very cool! :thumbsup2

Hope you paid in quarters like me;)

Excuse me I have to call my brother

I could call all 6 of mine, but I still won't get a penny!

Very scary Andy! Glad he is home resting! Also congrats to Angelina & I'm so happy she decided to join you on the cruise! :cool1:

It makes sense to me. Our 5 children are spaced apart in age - 28ds, 24dd, 17dd, 10ds & 6dd. But, we have worked hard to make sure that they are *close*.
This summer we are paying for our 28ds to spend 2 wks with our 17dd when they go to Korea/Austraila with some of the youth from our church -- World Youth Day is in Austraila and the Korea part of the trip is because we are *patnering* with a Korean church from Dallas. The 2 of them are already pretty close -- I would say that 17dd has always been 28ds favorite, she was born the week of his 11th b-day-- but, this will hopefully bring them even closer.
That was just an example of things we try to do to give all of our children *commn ground*. And with that kind of age difference sometimes it is a little harder to have *common ground*.

Alicia's parents do this sort of thing (when the kids were younger). My parents did not. Today we see a difference in "closeness" and it's not MY fault we are not having better relations in my family. It is sometimes a mystery why folks behave the way they do. And as a parent - it is no mystery to ME. You're doing exactly the best thing to engender the best possible relations among your children. Bravo!

I gotta leave to meet my "Gang" to head over for the JPL open house in about 25 minutes. I have no means of posting on the move (wahhh!) so I'm gonna probably miss the final sprint for the 100,000th prize!

Ah... Um... I better ask my 5th Grader... I'm not certain I'm smarter than one.

My 5th grader says 37 more pre-orders are needed to get to our first discount level. And then more discounts for every 100 after that.

He also says there are 367 different kinds of bird, fish, and wild animal in the state of Idaho. 80% of the northern part of Idaho is forested, evergreen forests. While only 30% of the southern part is forested. This is why all the animals live in the north, and all the people (cities, farms, and factories) live in the south.

He's working on his 5th grade state report, can you tell?? :rotfl2:
