8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #6

I may be the one of the few who actually likes this change. My DS will have just turned 13 and he has two years left before high school. I'd much prefer him to be in with the 11-13 year group as he tends to hang out with those younger than him anyway as he's one of the oldest in his class.

That said, my 10 year old DS will be just a few weeks shy of his 11th birthday and he would be much better off in the 11-13 year old group. Let me know if your daughter gets into the stack as this would give me an indication if I could move my 10 year old up as well.

As I recall they let the younger kids into the stack whenever the teens are away visiting Ocean Quest, a movie or the sports area on Deck 10.

If your 10 year old is only a few weeks away from being 11 he should have no problem moving up to the 11-13 group. I know my kids have been moved up to higher groups when they were alot more than 1 month from being the age of the higher group. I dont really have a problem with my DD being in the 11-13 group but she will. I guess its all perception on her part that she has wanted to be in the stack and have a little more freedom for a long time and she will have to wait til our August 09 cruise. Im just glad I found out now so she has time to get used to the idea.

My DD will be 14 in January and was looking forward to the Stack as well. I have to agree with Christopher that I have some concern regarding the old age range of 13-17. Maybe that because I am a dad. We will see how DD takes it tonight when I tell her about this.

My DD who just turned 13 is going to be very upset to hear this. She has been so excited because this is the first cruise she is old enough to go to the stack and now she will have to wait til next years cruise.

I guess I better warn her now so she has time to get used to it and get over it.

Oh no Ginny...she willl be so upset... I told Daniel he had to keep on eye on Courtney too!! I know my son would be so upset as well. How old is Sandy too?? My ds turns 15 tomorrow so we are safe.

Silly me... I wuz in such a hurry earlier today. I took you litterially... at any rate when we got to the theater I found they had changed the show times - and I failed to take note of that the other day. So we scrambled to run to another theater near by so we could make a showing without having to change any other plans today!

... we caught the NIM Movie, had pizza then hit the Farm where it was hot hot hot - but then the afternoon coastal breeze swept in to bring some relief. We had the lightest crowd I've ever seen at the farm, but we had almost all of our Daisy Troop together. So, they did all the usual Farm things... checked out the animals, saw an animal show, rode the tractor ride, and picked all manner of vegies and strawberries. Then we retired with one family to have a meal at Bucca De Beppo. Followed by some running through a computerized fountain adjoining the restuarant. While they ran through the water I snuk away to get Neslie Crunch Ice Cream bars from the near by Rite Aid. Now - they're in the tub as I watch the Doobie Bros in concert on HD, and in a few minutes the Moody Blues wil be on as well. It's a Concert filmed at the local Greek Theater - also in HD... Oh Boy!

Oh yeah.... when the kids were in the fountain I pretended to be "the water monster" and chased the girls as I growled loudly... that is... until I inadvertantly FRIGHTENED a little 4 year old boy. He ran away from me crying to his parents! I felt really sorry so I immediately brought over a nestle Crunch Ice Cream bar which completely transformed his crying to bright eyed smiles. After that he was my pal following me as I chased after the girls through the fountain.

Aw that was nice of you Crash! Amazing what icecream can do huh?

Hello, again, everyone! We have also been MIA for the last few months; however, I have enjoyed reading this thread when I have time. If you ever felt that there was someone out there "lurking" on the boards, yes, it likely was me ... The stalking will stop soon, I promise!

I am trying to get a grip on what we are going to "try" and book at the 90 window for our excursions. In reading the May repo thread, specifically, the excursion bookings and how that went for them, I am going to make sure I have planned ahead. I did not read anything about the "Trainer for a Day" and if people had a hard time in booking that excursion. Given that there are only 12 "trainers", does anyone know if this books up early for those in Cat's 1 to 3?? We are hoping to book this for our 12 year old daughter as a birthday gift (her birthday is just after the 90 day mark). I will make sure we have a back up plan, however, if anyone has any infomation on this excursion I would love to hear about it.

We look forward to meeting everyone in a few months. I also thank all of you for the information you may not realize has been helpful to those of us that read more and post less.

Here's thinking there are going to be some mighty 13 yo's on DCL

I told my DS 11 & he said, "I love that place, but it gets boring quick. There's not a lot of things." I sure hope they are going to be offering them some fun activities.

With the Disney Stores going back to the Disney Company, I'm going to be a CM again! At least I will until they make a decision about what they're going to do with the "per diem" people, since it's a position that was created by the Children's Place. Disney did have us fill out new paperwork to stay on as CM's, but I don't think the managers are allowed to schedule us after May 1st until they hear from Disney. I could actually give the required availability for most of the summer so that I could be a CM for our trip. When I come back to my rotations, I know I can't give them what they need. I'm hoping they keep the position and just retitle us "Seasonal", which is a job title that they already have.


ETA: I also love Property Control at WDW!!!

Hmmmm I wonder if our local Disney Store will be owned by Disney again. Maybe that's where I'll apply when I go looking for a job this fall!

Check out the Lost City helicoptor tour. If it wasn't so darn expensive--that's how I would spend my day in Cartagena. Colombia actually looks like it would be a great place to do an extended vacation. Quite a bit to do and see there. Their houses (while expensive for just a couple) wouldn't be too bad with a group--all come with attendants. There are even private islands to rent. I tell ya, the more I research this port--I think it will be my favorite port and definetly a place to go back to. Rates on the hotels aren't to bad either.

Hmmm I can just picture myself on a private island being waited on hand & foot by my attendant, who will be bringing me tropical drinks, snacks & a massage.

Allright! Confession time...I saw that the first season of Love Boat had come out and I bought it immediately! We have watched the first 5 episodes! All of us, even the teens. We get in full cheezy mode and laugh loudly along with the laugh track. It is a blast. I can't even believe that the kids will actually watch it along with me. The clothes, the dancing styles, the hair...makes some really goofy dorky fun!

That sounds like fun! Hmmm I might have to look into that!

I dye my own hair as I have paid over $150.00 before and left with orange hair!!
I use whatever brand is on sale and that looks like the color I want. Well, Saturday night was "Get rid of the gray roots day". I woke up Sunday and thought it looked great. When my Dad and Miranda and I were driving to lunch my Dad says all the sudden "You know you have this big chunk of dark brown here" Pointing to the top, back, middle part of my head. I blew it off until I got home and got out the ole mirror. There is a HUGE section of my otherwise blonde head just as dark as can be. I mean so dark and long that I have not had that color since college. I have to have missed this spot for years.
I asked Bill why he never mentioned it and, in typical male fashion- "I never noticed it before!".
Needless to say I am buying new hair color to get that chunk.

Disney Cruise offers free cruising for 2010

Disney Cruise line is pleased to offer the lowest rates of any cruise line. From now on, all passengers in all categories will travel for free!

However, due to continually rising fuel prices, Disney Cruise Line® is modifying its fuel surcharge.

The surcharge* is $580 per person, per day for the first two Guests in a stateroom and $530 per day for all other Guests (with an additional $100/day for each category above 12). It is effective for new bookings only made on or after May 28, 2010. Additionally, the surcharge will be capped at $15200 each for the first and second Guests in a stateroom and $12420 each (not counting the category surcharge) for all other Guests in the stateroom.

Travel Agents should implement additional procedures to ensure that they disclose the exact amount of the applicable fuel surcharge to Clients before they make a decision to book their FREE Disney Cruise Line vacation.

You know my issue is that we have 2 gynormous suitcases that we used for previous cruises. The problem with those is you have to be so careful with the weight limit.
We are OK on this flight since we booked before the implementation date but I forsee a hassle ahead.

Continental Airlines is implementing a $25 fee for customers checking a second bag when traveling on certain Economy fare tickets. The fee will apply for tickets purchased on or after April 5, 2008 for travel commencing on or after May 5, 2008 within the 50 U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada. Certain customers will be exempt from paying the new fee and will be allowed to check second bags free of charge (bags must meet weight and size restrictions). These customers include:

OnePass Elite members
SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus members
Any customer traveling on a ticket purchased in Y class of service
Continental Airlines Presidential Plus credit card holders
Active military personnel traveling on orders
Customers traveling with the above exempt customers are also exempt as long as they are traveling in the same reservation. This exemption will not apply to group reservations including 10 or more customers.

All customers may continue to check one bag free of charge. Additionally, there is no charge for car seats, strollers and wheelchairs.

For those that remember is the new baggage allowance for everyone no matter when you booked? Or for people that are traveling after a certain date no matter when you booked?

They havent tested it as yet, My DD Alice would like to know as well, we will find out on the May repo and the Mexican 7 night trips I am sure.

We thought Alice (12) would be in the same club as Stephen ( currently 9, 10 at the end of the cruise), but looks like they will be split up again.

reflections of helping others. that is what i read over & over. by
ignoring the ongoings, your examples..set in motion...alot of "good"
reasons...for others to support and share their blessings, and even
the obstacles..facing us in life. there isn't alot of people "holding" those
ideas....you wrote about, per mr. disney's. i just can't help but wonder..

do you realize....how much what you wrote about....was reflected ,in your

here's my take....,

all his investments...were about the value of children. i think he recognized
society, in general....have never given their situation much thought. [ even
today...those hurting children...do not received...what they deserved..in
comparsion to adults...is a sad fact.]. it paid..off....because.., there were
people like yourself, with the same ideas, that not only "could but did" ,
influenced others.

..in our family....it was passed on ..being a parent encompasses 2 main
ideas. one being you are an educator and second is being a protector.
taken to heart, explained...our interests...going on a disney vacation.

every life..has a journey to make...including the concepts mentioned by
mr. disney. [ one becomes what they chose to practice....& if that has
any merits...than chosing the things today, one will want to remember
tommorrow...will prduced the desired results. ]. however, sometimes..
one will be redirected...by "faith"..not necesarily..fate. & thats where
i got to be where iam @ today.

faith to me, is not religion...rather the purpose for religions. by my
experiences, it best can be defined, for me, "what" i believe..in my
heart. oh..i don't pretend..to walk on water, rather..i know someone
that does...

on a side..note..."regarding the things..giving me inspirations....
[ i sorta lazy] , i never had no intentions.,..for doing the type of
work..i am doing today...but thru interacting, i 've learned these

finally...holey-wood...have no right...to manipulate...our mental health

are no persons..that we can't help..if they have the desire. bad news,
we cannot fixed..physical damage...truma, alizhimers, dementia. however,
there are alternatives..coping skills.

i think walt..was determined...because he had faith in what he believe
in. and the insights..to know they were based in reality. [ our children
are very valauble but they came with certain needs. that are their
parent's responsiblities.& could be supported...by creating a "safe haven"
to interact & share..with others]. but he also...knew..it wasn't enough,
..the value of "application"..was to demonstrate ....it by holding on.
for application, i think he knew...,it was where he would get the
power..for his dreams..to come true. now the rest is history but i
believe...his dreams..will always be worth..keeping..alive...passing on
to one generation after the next.

..right now..i see there are politcs..& false proplets..mixing it together.
...listening...they are saying....having alot fun with hating. while iam
not that smart..i know hating & hurting others...produces god wrath.
and has nothing to do..with a true calling.
*what a sad & sick...message. how great mankind..are? when we still used
war as our primary controlling device. psst, there are more effective options
available...if we chose.

going to disney...isn't about hurting others...especially, by status.
nor is it required...to have my point of views..or anyone elses'. i believe,
it does behooves families..sharing their secrets, heir adventures, and their
feelings. i guess, i "fee" alot of values...in the ways...walt set up
disneyland..to support our family's mental health. but when i go, iam there
for fun..and a lil' for my family.

We are arriving in LAX on Wednesday and going to HoJos until Sunday. Getting a 3 day park hopper. and then Saturday renting a car to tour LA and

I never read anything about this rate or surcharge and I just read the disclaimer.. it said nothing about a surcharge..

Delta is one of the few (if not the only) airlines not grandfathering in people who purchased their tickets in advance of the annoucement. As of May 1, you are allowed 1 piece of checked luggage per person and $25 for a second piece (if they have room & they will charge you more if over 50lbs).
