With the Disney Stores going back to the Disney Company, I'm going to be a CM again! At least I will until they make a decision about what they're going to do with the "per diem" people, since it's a position that was created by the Children's Place. Disney did have us fill out new paperwork to stay on as CM's, but I don't think the managers are allowed to schedule us after May 1st until they hear from Disney. I could actually give the required availability for most of the summer so that I could be a CM for our trip. When I come back to my rotations, I know I can't give them what they need. I'm hoping they keep the position and just retitle us "Seasonal", which is a job title that they already have.

ETA: I also love Property Control at WDW!!!

So Disney is keeping the stores and getting rid of Children's Place???? :confused3 I thought the stores were going to stay Children's place. :rolleyes1

Yes..... I loved Proerty Control with $2 cameras and $1 strollers!!!;) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Wonder what they sold Alan's wedding ring for:sad2: Alan didn't even realize we left it at OKW until about 6 months later.

Disney is definitely buying back at least 2/3 of the stores, including the one I work at. Then they're supposed to try to renegotiate the leases with the malls and may take back even more. I think it goes into effect on May 1.

Here's thinking there are going to be some mighty :sad1: 13 yo's on DCL

I have one of those...and he has a sister who is 14 and brother that is 16. They are inseperable. This is not good news....:(

Plus, I have a DD10 that loves Ocean Quest...hmmmm. Time to start worrying? She is an "old" ten being that she has 3 older siblings.

For those of you still debating about getting off the ship..................

This is a wonderful web site for Colombia. Laheroica

Check out the Lost City helicoptor tour. If it wasn't so darn expensive--that's how I would spend my day in Cartagena. Colombia actually looks like it would be a great place to do an extended vacation. Quite a bit to do and see there. Their houses (while expensive for just a couple) wouldn't be too bad with a group--all come with attendants. There are even private islands to rent. I tell ya, the more I research this port--I think it will be my favorite port and definetly a place to go back to. Rates on the hotels aren't to bad either. :goodvibes

happy monday everyone! hope you all had a great weekend! busy one here...getting a pool deck built and remodeling our downstairs half bathroom. bad thing is the guy doing the bathroom told me it would only take a few days to do the sheetrocking and it shouldn't affect my daycare today...he was WRONG! well, technically, he was right...it should of only taken a few days, IF he came to do the work. but, instead he came friday nite and ripped the whole bathroom apart, and skipped out of working on it saturday and sunday due to the nice weather. now i have bare walls, bare floors and a toilet that isn't hooked up right and a house full of 9 kids right now! i didn't realize how much i relied on the bathroom downstairs til it was all tore apart!ugh!!! hopefully he will be here tonite to do some work on it.

Shannon, hope he gets his rear in gear and gets you finished up. We just redid our half bath and it took Alan about 2 weeks to get it finished--I agree never realize how much you use something until you can't.

oh wow! i used to love that show! and to see how young some of the actors/actesses are in that episode...funny to watch!

Remember how large their staterooms were. Of course they made DCL's look huge on the According to Jim show too:rotfl:

I had sent an email to Guest communications a while ago about the ages of the kids in the clubs based on a post about them changing it for the summer

Here is their reply

Thank you for your e-mail.

We truly welcome your observations and suggestions on ways in which we
can improve our cruise experience, particularly your thoughts on The
Stack. Please allow me to explain that based upon feedback from our
guests, we plan to test utilizing the Ocean Quest space on the Disney
Magic as the base for the 11 to 13 year old age group this summer. The

age breakdowns are as follows:

Oceaneer Club will continue to be the home base for the 3 to 7 year old
children.
Oceaneer Lab is used for children 8 to 10 years of age.
Ocean Quest will be used for the 11 to 13 year olds.
The Stack will be reserved for teens 14 to 17 years of age.

As you may know, we offer the largest area of children's space of any
ship afloat and the largest number of children's counselors at sea.
Planned activities will continue to remain age-specific for children
3-17 years of age. Children may choose as many or as few organized
activities as they prefer. Concurrently, a child may participate in an
older age group as long as the child is within one month of the minimum
age and is potty-trained. For example, a 7-year old wants to join the
8-9 age group and is within a month of turning 8.

Following our West Coast sailings this summer we will again evaluate the
various age breakdowns to ensure the continued satisfaction of our
guests. However, please know that your feedback is very important to
us, and your remarks will be evaluated along with those received from
other guests. We will continue to strive to provide our guests with the finest vacation and entertainment experiences, and we are very grateful
for your valuable input to help us achieve that goal.

Again, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. We look forward
to the chance to welcome aboard you and your family again one day soon.

It would be interesting to know WHAT they have planned in Ocean Quest for the 11-13 year olds. As it is, my DS will be very disappointed as he will be 13 1/2 and was really looking forward to going to The Stack.
