I am alive but barely. Somehow I injured a disc in my neck and has been really giving me problems. I have been reading along just have not felt like posting. It is getting better, just slower than I want.

Yikes! :scared1: :scared1:

Hope you get better soon!

:rotfl: Tom, that would have been hysterical to see!

I'm sorry, but I would have been one of those "gawkers"! :rotfl:

I think EVERYONE should demonstrate what we all expect out of inflight dining... and bring on something "nice" but something that travels well. I didn't mention before that we've packed fair "to go" many times - or almost EVERY time we're traveling near dinner or lunch time. Well... lobster only once, but we've done Chinese cuisine many times, Pizza, Spaghetti, Boston market, Sushi (the simple kind), and local cuisine from where we're visiting too. The only times we've not packed for a meal is when we dine at our connection stop or just prior or after. Yaknow... ya shift the meal a bit and sit down to a nice meal before or after he flight.

At any rate, every time the United flight attendant goes by asking if we want BOX "A" or "B" or whatever, I decline ... sometimes thinking "gee, look at what has come of this world"..... I miss the TV dinner style hot meals they used to serve.... <wink>

twa002.jpg

Now I have to buy those $0.99 TV dinner budget gourmet "meals" to get my inflight meal "fixes" satisfied!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!!!

I am off to the hospital for phase 2 of the nose "fix". This should be the last surgery I will need. Yay!

Congrats! Hopefully today goes as smoothly as the other step and you will be able to put this behind you soon . . .

Sorry to hear it, Roger . . .take care of yourself.:flower3:

Belated Happy Birthdays to Lisa and Kevin.

M great work on the kids pages (I was starting on my own but yours are much better)

Coral good luck today.

Sorry Roger, hope you're feeling better sooner rather than later!

Just a friendly reminder that you can donate every 56 days, so if you are eligible, you can donate twice between now and cruise (maybe 3 times if you time it right...)

According to the American Red Cross guidelines:

Travel Outside of U.S., Immigration
Wait 12 months after travel in an area where malaria is found.

From the CDC:

Malaria risk area in Mexico: Risk is limited to areas infrequently visited by travelers including small foci along the Guatemala and Belize borders in the states of Chiapas, Quintana Roo, and Tabasco; rural areas in the states of Nayarit, Oaxaca, Sinaloa; and in an area between 24°N and 28°N latitude, and 106°W and 110°W longitude, which lies in parts of Sonora, Chihuahua, and Durango. No malaria risk exists along the United States-Mexico border. No malaria risk exists in the major resorts along the Pacific and Gulf coasts.

Risk is very limited; therefore, prophylaxis is not recommended for most travelers to Mexico. Travelers should use personal protection measures such as insect repellents for malaria prevention. Chemoprophylaxis is recommended for the rare traveler going to the risk areas.

Malaria risk area in Panama: Risk exists in rural areas of Bocas Del Toro, Darién, San Blas provinces and San Blas Islands. No risk in Panama City or in the former Canal Zone.

Malaria risk area in Colombia: Risk in all rural areas at altitudes below 800 m (<2,624 ft). No risk in Bogotá and vicinity.

Its not clear if any of the areas would qualify as disqualifying you from donating blood, but you may want to inquire and donate before hand if you can.

Happy Friday:woohoo: . The kids are off from school this week and they couldn't have asked for a better week with weather. Everyone is out riding bikes and playing ball - it really is nice to see.

WOW! You are crazy!:lmao:

I got this from JetBlue:

JetBlue will be charging $20.00 for a second piece of checked luggage for
tickets purchased on or
after May 1st for travel beginning on June 1st.

So I guess most of us are ok!If we have purchased our tix already....

Chrissie

I had a feeling this would be happening. Hopefully we will be OK.

Laura and Jenna Bush are going to be in town today to sign their new book. DS used to live across the street from where that Borders is. That road in Winter Park is always jammed and I can't imagine what it will do with all the extra security etc. Good thing DHs Dr appt was Wed and not today.

The other day they closed a major road in Boston for about 40minutes in "anticipation" of the Britain Prime Minister's departure from the Kennedy Library. Nothing like gridlock when you have to pee.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Monica is ok...

Still in shock a little but trying to regroup and plan a counter-assault on her line of work...

She said she would try to make it to chat tomorrow nite and sends her love. :lovestruc

(or maybe she said she'd send a typhoon or a plague of crustacea upon us all...NAHHHH!!!)

Thanks for the update.

Whew what a week..........I am finally all ketched-up! Looking forward to a peaceful weekend - DH is taking bothchildren and going camping so I have the entire weekend to myself to do what i want!

That sounds like heaven- Enjoy :cloud9:

Airfare has gone up $45 for our MCO-SMF return, and $9 for the trip to LA (SMF-SNA). So, no great shakes there.

For the heck of it, just looked up our airfares.....

BOS - LGB...DD & ME - up $100
BOS - LGB...DH - up $140

MCO - BOS (Sept 1) - up $230 :scared1: :scared1:

Glad I booked when I did

Hey Crew, I found you over on the new thread! Let's see, a quick update on the topics at hand....

No cabin #, still GTY.

Airfare has gone up $45 for our MCO-SMF return, and $9 for the trip to LA (SMF-SNA). So, no great shakes there.

Shore Ex...
Cabo is a sailboat charter (with M)
PV is zip lines with the Crew (but at 2pm)
Acapulco is wander around and see what's what
Aruba is a dive/snorkle charter (with Sarangel)
Cartagena we'll probably wander around, still figuring that one out.

So, no DCL shore ex to book. Still figuring out Palo, spa, etc.

Hope to have the t-**** pre-order website up and running tomorrow, will be asking a few folks to test it out before we open it up to the rest of the crew.

Taking our new (used) pop-up out for her shake down cruise this weekend. A membership campground gave use 2 free nights if we listen to their talk. We'll show up with our three dogs, and they'll think better of it... ;)

Oh, and yesterday morning, I dropped DS6 off at Kindergarten. While waiting in the Kindergarten yard, I had the singular experience of having him empty his coat pockets into my hands…

An Easter Egg Shell, crushed to small bits, Pink
A lump of yellow beeswax for shaping
A bit of wool, undyed, stuck to the beeswax
A piece of twig
The remains of a ski lift ticket
The wire from the ski lift ticket, re-bent to a new use (use unknown)
Two pieces of tree bark, one large, one small
A small piece of felt, yellow
A small white stone, vaguely shaped like an arrowhead
A small piece of shiny silver Mylar, with most of the shine rubbed off

Such are the ingredients of boyhood.
.

Aw that is so cute!

Wow, another new thread. Hopefully I can keep track on this one. You guys talk too much.....

Anyways, this week I just added on the Backstage Magic trip from Adventures by Disney to make this trip even better (and longer and more expensive) for me!

Don't bother keeping up, just pop in when you can! Congrats on the Backstage Magic booking! That should be a blast! :cool1:

WOW! You are crazy!:lmao:

Best Wishes! :wizard:

Sorry.:confused3 When we flew to London, we had the best food.

I think today is Passport day. Will try to get the photos done this am and then off to the passport office.:thumbsup2

DH got sort of good news at the Dr Wednesday. Now if I can only get him off to the gym.
DDs husband was off to Korea yesterday. She is feeling lonely already. He will be there til the middle of May. This is the 3rd time the hotel has sent him there. They rotate the managers every so often. The manager from Germany I think is taking his position here in Orlando:confused3

Glad to hear DH got some good news! :)

It has been a beautiful April vacation huh? We haven't done much, but I did lay out & get some sun the other day. Last night we had pizza at Angela's on Rt. 1 in Saugus. We got wings & 3 pizzas plus drinks & it came to $104!!! Geez felt like I was in WDW for a second there!

Don't know if I'll make chat because we are invited to a cook out this evening. Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Crash, back when I was 16 and started flying, NWA use to have "Snack" flights. A small roast beef sandwich. The 2 best meals I've ever had were on Air France and Piedmont (great omelet!). Back in the 60's my dad worked at Metro with a painting contractor and use to bring home airline silverware. Some was sterling silver and some stainless. I still have a couple of sets. I guess some employees of the food service would thrown everything away rather than sort it to be washed!

Krista, thanks for the update on Monica. She and Trevoy are in my thoughts.

I just bought a Sandisk c250 with color screen, FM radio , micro SD memory expansion slot and 2GB for $15.95 + tax... free shipping after applying the $10 discount for signing up to check out with Google.com. I bought 3 1gb versions of this player for the same price at WOOT (+$5 shipping - no tax I think) - and so I have several adaptors now (3) plus fitted cases as I gave ONE of these away ... and ONE broken one with a spare battery and parts to scavenge if needed! Cool for a hungry bottom fisher like me!

It is refurb ... but so what for $16 + tax!

Somehow I'm thinking drinks had more to do with the $104 bill than the pizza and wings :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Have fun at your cookout

I donated about 2 weeks ago, and there was pretty big laundry list of countries that you cannot have visited. I didn't think to look for any of our port countries, since I haven't been there yet. I thought someone posted a while ago that Cartegena would make us ineligible to donate for a while. If anybody donates soon, let us know if Colombia or anywhere else is on the list.
