Well, I finally booked our airfare yesterday! Now I just have to figure out the rest of it!! We will be at DL on Saturday.

Was there a price estimate yet on the DIS bus from DL to the port??

Chris is getting the estimates this week . . . now that we have an idea of how many pirates/how many buses we are talking about we should have the per person price posted here soon. We are still working out how to get people to pay -- Paypal in advance and/or check/cash in advance, or as you board the bus with me on one and Wendy on the other (although we don't want to have a lot of people not do it at the last minute and end up eating the cost!). The best will probably be to require payment in advance in some way and then have me and Wendy each be in charge of checking people off a list at each of the buses.

More details will be posted SOON!

The SHT Fund?

I just read your signature and realized we were at WDW at the same time in Sept. 2001 - Hurricane Floyd! Also known as "let's close everything" and not be hit by the hurricane - but Downtown Disney is open for your shopping pleasure! :rotfl2:

Upon furthur reading..you have had a lot of prolems with hurricanes..maybe I shouldn't go on this cruise with you!

Floyd was 1999, 2001 was post 9/11 and when I say empty, I'm overstating the attendance. Less than 30% of normal attendance.

Butttt.... since you were there for Floyd, maybe you are the one we should worry about?

evening all..

back for SAP Sapphire.. now to work and make up the fact I was gone for a few days... gonna ketchup..

BTW is anyone staying at the port on Sat night? I am thinking that maybe the best for us

oops..forget it..it was Floyd and it was 1999. Floyd was my honeymoon ..talk about NOT a good time!
We came home on 9/10/2001 from WDW...I confused it. We were at WDW from 9/3/01 until 9/10/01 when we flew home.

There is a whole gang staying at the Doubletree, see the planning boards

I saw this on another board and thought I would share it:

Pal'o's
$15.00 service charge

Of which……..

$10.00 goes back to the ship towards the food.

$ 1.00 goes to the Palo’s dinning manger

$4.00 is then pooled and split between the 10 Palo’s servers.

Additional gratuities would go directly to your server.

Thanks. That will help me in my "figuring"

Did they say where they got the info?

I love meal assembly places. Super Suppers and Let's Dish are 2 big franchises. I go to a locally owned one. 2 hours of 'cooking' in a commercial kitchen with a glass of wine and friend or 2 and I have 12 meals that serve 6 (so more like 1 1/2 dinners each for us) to put in my freezer. I did a pretty thorough financial analysis the first several months I went and if I added groceries + dining out, we are spending way less money this way and the meals are great.

I've been doing Dream Dinners & Super Suppers for about 3 yrs now! The closest DD closed a few months ago.... :sad2:
Whenever I cook I cook in bulk! I cook at least 5 - 10lbs of hamburger meat at a time -- I season half for mexican food and the other half just general seasonings. 2 c of cooked meat = approx 1lb of raw meat! I cook chicken breasts the same way.

thanks Tom.. when DH focuses ( this weekend I hope) I can book this but I am thinking that the port is better for us.. if we stay by the airport.. we have nothing to do all afternoon since we get in to LA about 1 pm ish..and we are not pool sitters.. so if we stay by the port then we can walk around and see the tall ships and port stuff...

I have thought about that.. but when i look at the menus.. Dh would eat 1/2 of it.. and if he won't eat it then Eric won't... so it is hard to justify for me and Geoff

DS7 just got the call - he also made his travel hockey team.
Good golly what did we get ourselves into???

Congratulations! Dh and his brother played on the travel team -- every other year together, they are 11 months apart in age.

They didn't have hockey here when 28ds was growing up. :sad2: He tried to convince us to move to Canada for him to play when he was a teenager! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Not sure what exactly they dislike but one nice thing I like about Dream Dinners is that sometimes there is an ingrediant that DD or I won't eat..if it is not required for the recipe..I just leave it out when I prep the meal. Both DD and I dislike mustard so a lot of the marinades call for mustard - we just leave it out.

For the first time in years we decided to buy insurance $636 to protect the 2,565 points and $350 to protect the flights. Would you believe it was more money for being over 62 maybe they're afraid will die before the cruise.

I know that being dead isn't funny....but..... I laughed out loud when I read your sentence! :goodvibes

Cabo, I have done the glass blowing factory before, with Princess cruises, it is very interesting and nice to view, but its over and done fairly quickly, and then to the shop to purchase glass, good for kids to see, but not a long tour, unless changed.

Acapulco, I think due to the location of the fort and market a lot of people will do this, there both very close indeed, in fact the port side of the ship will look directly into the fort, ( so put your clothes on)

:lmao: :lmao: You don't know DH. He will be the talk of the port. Maybe replace the hanging undies.

Wonder if they are being truthful or just trying to make us feel guilty?

Spoke to Laura snd she is safe and sound in her room. Hope to see her tomorrow.:goodvibes

There's a lot of interest in a group Mr. Emerald city & shopping tour. Paula is working with him to put something together. Check out the planning board.

Sorry to hear about your aunt.:grouphug:

I will check out the tour info..Thanks!
My Aunt has been gone a year and it was to honor her...it seems just like yesterday....

My brother said he was going to see that show. He says her band that she is touring with is fantastic.

Dolly was FABULOUS!!! My friend and I had so much fun at the show!

she had a comment about plastic surgery..."My husband doesn't have to cheat...he says he gets a new wife every 6 months!"

She was full of interesting comments!
