 :woohoo:  Fourteen down and 4 to go!!!:rotfl:

Yes ....I am up til at least 2 am.

Somehow I can see Jon so organized!!!:rolleyes1

Okay....just talked to DCL and she asked two supervisors. DCL has no rule on picking up two suitcases from each person in a cabin. The airlines have not notified them of any different procedures due to charge of extra bags for some peeps even if you booked airfare with DCL. I am grandfathered in and I am allowed two suitcases per person and I do have DCL transfers.:confused3 I guess the WB will be the experiment for us.:sad2:

According to the thread I posted the first call DCL hadn't heard about any baggage increases. Later, supposedly the answer was DCL will only check 1 bag if the airline has the extra fee policy. But sounds like you got different information. Wonder how it's going to play out.

That is why I have so many kids! 5 kids=10 bottles of wine. Right? I'm not asking too much of them, am I?

My husband sent the two kids with backpacks filled with wine for the 10 day Christmas cruise - so 2 bottles per child doesn't seem to be bad at all.:rotfl:

Sounds like typical DCL....lots of questions and not just ONE answer!!!

I guess it is the old wait and see what happens game.:sad2: :sad2:

Perfect! I won't feel guilty then...I already know what will be in their backpacks...

2 bottles of wine
Swimsuit
Sunscreen

Nice and easy!

BTW... The county attorney on the video there is the DIS's own KATH1210

She's real nice...

i met Kathy through the Dis which lead to me knowing about my job opening...

Great video K! Can I get your autograph? ;)

how it can be snowing today yet the temperature outside is in the 40's? Obviously I'm not a meteorologist, but I would think we'd see light rain instead of flurries. Maybe it's colder in the upper atmosphere which I thought caused hail. Oh well...80's yesterday, snow today.

Also, thanks for the kind thoughts from everyone regarding yesterday's gout flare-up. It was my worst, but I'm a lot better today. I guess the preventative medicine at least helps keep them shorter. Nonetheless, I'm heading back to the doctor to see about upping my dosage as she started me out small to see how I do.

Glad you're feeling better!

Hi Everyone..

In D.C....a little chilly but suppose to warm up by the weekend in the high 70's

but the real reason I am on is because my DD made Major Yesterday... :cool1: :cool1:

Congrats! :cheer2:

That is so cool! I really wish we had gotten a brick at WDW before they did away with them because the "Leave a Legacy" at Epcot was bombing. Hopefully they will someday bring them back.

ITA with both points! ::yes::

Great newsletter, as usual!

Ditto!!! :flower3:

Yeterday 40 and today 75!!! This was our first over 70 degree day in 6 months.

It's 70s inland here, but because we're on the coast, we're still in low 60s. :sad2:

Hope you got outside to enjoy it. I washed the store windows today today to take advantage of the sunshine.:goodvibes

Thanks for the newsletter Tom!:cool1:

Shannon sorry to hear your DD has the chicken pox, glad she's feeling good and not itchy. Enjoy your freedom the rest of the week.:)

Adam is going to be taking his ASVAB test again in 30 days to see if he gets a better score. He also scheduled his own dr. appointment for next Thursday to see about his asthma. They told him he couldn't use an inhaler, but could get allergy shots. He is disappointed about this because his asthma isn't only allergy related. I halfway feel sorry for him--a little more than half way. It just isn't what I saw him doing, but he is very serious about it.

Best of luck for DS! :wizard:

my ta emailed me today, and told me that she rec'd our packets and will be forwarding them to us....i'm wondering why our went to her and not to us directly like everyone elses?

i'm really "YEAH FOR NO WORK!" i feel like i'm a kid in school who found out they have a snow day! i'm too excited to go to bed tonite! the best part is that it's finally nice weather here!! so, a great time to get a few days off! and since dd feels great, it's even better!!

I was going to say sorry DD has chicken pox, but I guess the correct response would be woohoo!!! :woohoo:

I wouldn't worry - the guest service personel taking training at terminal 5 will be stranded there well into 2009.

Oddly enough, I've never had a problem with guest services, or even a long wait. Maybe I just go there at odd times (or settle up early?). On the med cruise they were absolutely positively my heroes - they fought with Iberia on our behalf, kept us up to date on the luggage search, gave us free phone calls to try reaching Iberia, and were quick to credit us for time lost when the Internet connection went down.

Oh, didn't you hear? GTY stands for "guarantee" which means we get a cabin of that class or better (even if it does move around). Those who aren't GTY are, by definition, not guaranteed anything (regardless of current assignment). I believe the current plan is to have all of you initially sent to Deck 9 with your luggage. Then periodically crew members will select random families for special surprises including cabin assignments. The lucky ones will get the category 1 cabins or a night or two in the captain's cabins. Those not picked will get to stay in tents pitched in that large empty room near the medical center where they store the luggage the night before departure. I think they're calling it the "cruise of a million dramas" event?

Darn I guess we're SOL since we're not guaranteed anything!

I can't believe that 4 months from now DH will be screaming at me cause I'm not finished packing yet and our plane will leave the next day...:rolleyes1

Sounds like the same scenario that will be playing out here! Well how CAN you pack everything? I always have last minute wash to do, cosmetics to pack, etc. :confused3

OMG! People astound me. :sad2:
There is a story on the news today about a woman who ran out of gas on a freeway so she left her 1 YO and 1 MONTH old :scared1: in the car while she went for gas.
They did not say how long she was gone but it must have been a while.

Hey just throw the one y/o a cell phone...they'll be fine! :sad2: Seriously what went through her mind? Hmmmm better not wake them or they'll be cranky? I don't have a stroller so I'll leave them here? It never crossed her mind to wait by her car for help??? :headache:

Now add in the tall ships to look at! I can't wait!

:cool1:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: That sounds yucky! So sorry!

Hopefully your time there will be wonderful to make up for the frustration!

I'm hoping that too. In some ways it's silly as the tickets are still good value, but an extra $60 in my pocket is always better! LOL

Anyone know much about Club Libby Lui and/or Princess fayre? DD wants a make over so am looking for imput on this as I know there are a few of you westcoasters with DD about the same age as Lauren & I doubt the speed that they grown up is much different:scared1:

5 kids = 1- bottles

To drink or to carry?

I have a prediction...

Thank you for your question.
In an effort to provide the most magical service possible, we can definitively say that based on system availability, you will receive the same services as those with whom you are traveling. We do allow guests to check bags aboard the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic. You will be allowed to check the number of bags that has been determined at the time of your cruise. If you have any further questions, please contact us at any time.

Sincerely,

Guest Services

So here is something…
I just got off the phone and I’m going to be published.

OK, in a book only media nerds and coerced undergrads are likely to read, but I’m going to be published! In grad school, I wrote and independent study (our term: co-dependent study) paper with a classmate about patriotism and consumerism post 9/11. Nifty things like flag-waving ads by companies that were off-shoring jobs, etc. ANYWAY, it was just accepted as a chapter in an anthology about pop culture and 9/11. YAY!

Too bad about Alice, Andrew -- I hope she doesn't have to have another graft. I know that whole thing was hard on the entire family.

Celestine, I thought I had quoted your post, but sorry you are going through such frustration about the DL ticket bonuses . . . that's the kind of thing that makes me crazy.:sad2:

Monica,

What is a Magic Morning?

Thanks,
Kim

Hi Kim;

I'm not Monica but I do know that Magic Mornings at DL are Early Entries . . . you can go into Fantasyland and I think Space Mountain an hour before park opening.

Congrats!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks another graft doesn't seem to be an option this time, just medication to try and get it to repair itself, normally for anyone that would occur, it appears she has a weakness in that region.

So any repair, might 'pop' again.

It is painful or just affecting her hearing?

Any guesses on how long it could take to heal? Will it affect swimming, snorkeling etc. if it doesn't close?
