Thanks for the well wishes everyone! DS is feeling much better & went back to school yesterday. Woohoo! We had a small birthday party for him at Rainforest Cafe last night. He was allowed to invite 4 friends & 1 couldn't make it last week so we postponed it. He didn't have much of an appetite still, but at least he made it. :thumbsup2

I still have that sore & stiff neck which just makes me feel all around carpy so haven't felt like posting much. Still have a great appetite though!

Cheryl glad to hear you & John are feeling better! :flower3:

Good luck Roger with your procedure!

Hope everyone else is doing well! :wizard:
Diane hope you and yours continue to get better

So how is everything, Roger??????????? And how long do you get to take the happy drugs AFTER the procedure???;)

Can someone explain the fish extenders thing to me.

I think I signed up for Secret Mickey, is this different?

How do I go about making a fish extender? Does anyone have any pictures? I am seriously craft challenged...

I see that others have already explained the fish extenders to you . . . we will have a sign up for them next month after the 90 day window . . . then everyone will get a list with all the participating cabins on them . . . we might even assign people different days so that the gifts are spread out throughout the cruise since it is so much fun to come back to the cabin every day and look for goodies!

Boy I miss a week and I'm so far behind I don't know if I'll ketch up!
Happy Birthday, Anniversary and Congrats to all I've missed. party: :jumping1:
I'm trying not to miss but work is crazy.:badpc: :badpc:

Thanks for the chuckles, laughs and happy stories. You all keep me sane (well as sane as I'll ever be) :lmao: :rotfl2: :crazy2:

And lastly Happy Tax Day to those who've had to file! Mine were done and gone last month- still waiting on State of PA to send me my refund... even though I filed with direct deposit... explain that one... :confused3

Here I go again quoting myself...

I just looked at page one and it appears that you have a HUGE committee already for this. And, it is a drinking committee. SIGN ME UP!

Secret Mickey is giving little gifts but only to one person.

In the fish extender exchange...You buy little gifts for everyone participating and then every day or so little gifts are left by your door.

A fish extender is a term that comes from the fish hook for mail and messages outside stateroom doors. Extender is just when someone hangs a device (think pocket or stocking like) from that fish on the wall.

Thus fish extender (because little gifts just won't fit in the little clip of the fish; which was designed for small notes)

Thanks, I thought the Secret Mickey and Fisher Extender was the same thing!

It's a small world after all ... My Mother grew up in Harper Woods and we used to visit my grandparents there (until I was about 12 and they moved to Florida). We get a case (12 jars) of Saunder's hot fudge shipped to us about once per year - one year it was dropped by UPS and arrived a total mess and the driver thought is smelled fantastic! :rotfl2: DM loves Verniers and usually has some stashed away for when she gets a craving for it. The other favorite thing we used to get in the Detroit area was at a bake shop called Ackroyd's (spelling is probably wrong) which had wonderful scottish meat pies and cornish pasties. We used to be able to mail order those also, but they disapeared a few years ago.

Pamela

My bbf who lives in TN, still goes to White Castle's everytime she comes up. I go to a local Pasty Shop near my house. Ackroyd's must be on the eastside.

Oh, now that I know the difference. I can stock up. Looks like there will be a Dollar Tree Run tonight!

I saw that the WB assigned days. Honestly I'm not sure I like that. I just spread mine out over a few days, whenever I had a few moments to deliver. We didn't get something every day on the Med repo but it was spread out enough without assigning anything.

I agree Monica.:thumbsup2 John and I would just do a few decks at a time!!!:goodvibes

Let us know how he does and what they think his MOS should be.

Yeah Paula - interested to find out - I think they told me what I could do - either MP or secretary - didn't want to put myself in the line of fire so I went for the desk job - hey - I was only 5'3" and 105 pounds soaking wet so that was my reason - any bad guy could have just picked me up and tossed me like a floppy doll - I had no strength prior to going in. Anyway, good luck - let us know.

Hey Monica - I agree with you - for some reason - it strikes me kinda odd having assigned days. But I will go with the major consensus - Of course this cruise has more sea days so we shall see. On the 11-night back in '06 - we didn't have assigned days either and we got a lot at the beginning and the end. Some in the middle so it worked out fine.

Hey guys - for those of you in the know - we got some results back FINALLY and it doesn't look good - so I may be a bit absent but I'll be popping in and out.

For some reason - the world down here at this end is going crazy, DH's b-day is at the end of this month, tax day which is a major bummer around here and now 3-4 things happening at once. Plus, did I mention that DD-14 got nominated to attend some kind of National Leadership Conference in Washington DC - she's going to be there from June 14-23 and she wants me to take her and wait for her - I won't be able to see her but she's afraid to fly along - so DD-20 wants to make it a girls 2-weeker then. Not sure I want to do that - my summer is already booked - plus if things progress - it may not be such a good idea after all.

BTW, I'm considering doing what you suggested Julie - give me a few days. Might work better for those OCD planners. :lmao:

Talk to you later.

Does anyone have any idea how many fish extender gifts are needed per person? If everyone participates, it could be huge - aren't we well over 150 DIS families? Are we all exchanging with everyone or are we breaking up the list or something? I guess I'm getting concerned about the cost - even a cheap 50 cent gift (and I would prefer to do something nicer than that!) would add up to at least $75!:scared1:

Don't worry- I did too at first. :)
