My husband grew up in Harper Woods and always talked about going to Saunders for a treat when he was young. At Christmas time, I found gift packs of Saunders toppings and candy at Kohl's in NJ! He was thrilled with the gifts!

Wow! Small world. That's closer to the candy factory! Wow, they have Saunder's in NJ! Verniers ginger ale use to be exclusive to Detroit, but now you can get it in other states too.

G'mornin' pirate:s

What? Am I the only one up doing my taxes??

:surfweb:

I'm sure your not. Did mine Sun, yesterday got conf that they were accepted and refund appox 4/25. Next year I really need to do them earlier. I put it off because of the schedule K I had to file, which turned out to not be that bad.

I am a fantastic employee, just ask me!

And if I show this to my boss, DIS will be added to the sites we aren't allowed to visit.:scared1:

I'm just waiting for the day when I try to access DIS and I get the big red and blue Blocked Site Warning from my employer. That will be a very sad day. :guilty:

Our boss informed us last week that the computer system is running slow because someone is "hogging" Bandwith! We have at least 500 people in our building. We have Comcast and they stink.

Yes, its new for farmers and ranchers

Sounds like a new chip dip! SpreadSheep, try some today.

Ladies, I can be your dealer! LOL!:thumbsup2

I grew up on Saunder's hot fudge. I love the milk chocolate fudge. they went out of business years ago, but they have opened a couple of stores the past couple of years. We have one here! Haven't been yet. We also have a Stroh's ice cream place and they use Saunder's hot fudge. I love the Hot Fudge Cream Puffs! When I was a kid they cost 80 cents, now they are $3.80! Morley candy makers make the Saunder's products now, but they use the original recipies. Saunder's was the place to go back in the day. I remember asking for a Saunder's birthday cake when I was a kid. They had baked goods, ice cream and candy.

Now you are bringing back memories. I grew up in a Detroit suburb and they had Sauders Ice Cream Parlors in our town. I loved the Cream Puff. (Note: I will probably gain 5 lbs just remembering it!!!)

Thanks. I was going to try to find that. Basically they are doing away with the set patterns. We'll have to double check out KTTW card every night to figure out where we'll be dining.

Since there is so many of us eating together, it shouldn't be too hard to keep everyone on track. :goodvibes

I called all 3 DT's in next town over and got 15 cans so far...

(hmm it would be a nice fish extender gift wouldn't it if i could get around 30 or so more. )

I am trying to recruit my aunt in on this mission as she lives outside of Philadelphia and they have a ton of them there.

Can someone explain the fish extenders thing to me.

I think I signed up for Secret Mickey, is this different?

How do I go about making a fish extender? Does anyone have any pictures? I am seriously craft challenged...

Secret Mickey is giving little gifts but only to one person.

In the fish extender exchange...You buy little gifts for everyone participating and then every day or so little gifts are left by your door.

A fish extender is a term that comes from the fish hook for mail and messages outside stateroom doors. Extender is just when someone hangs a device (think pocket or stocking like) from that fish on the wall.

Thus fish extender (because little gifts just won't fit in the little clip of the fish; which was designed for small notes)

Here is a picture of one.

Here's another pic with the fish part so you can see where namesake came from

It's a small world after all ... My Mother grew up in Harper Woods and we used to visit my grandparents there (until I was about 12 and they moved to Florida). We get a case (12 jars) of Saunder's hot fudge shipped to us about once per year - one year it was dropped by UPS and arrived a total mess and the driver thought is smelled fantastic! :rotfl2: DM loves Verniers and usually has some stashed away for when she gets a craving for it. The other favorite thing we used to get in the Detroit area was at a bake shop called Ackroyd's (spelling is probably wrong) which had wonderful scottish meat pies and cornish pasties. We used to be able to mail order those also, but they disapeared a few years ago.

That is so helpful! I knew what the fish was, but was clueless about the rest!

I love the picture of that door with all the awesome stuff.

I think that I will use a Christmas Stocking as my fish extender, probably the only thing I am capable of doing. :confused3

And I love the email response from DCL:

"Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In
general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops;
jeans, khakis and capris are permitted. Most cruises also have special
theme nights.

At this time we do not have the theme nights for the 15 Night Eastbound

Panama Canal Cruise.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us."

Ummm...yeah, that was real helpful.

Thank you for posting DCL's very imformative post, at least that clears up everythnig!

Dont know if this has been discussed yet or not........and I see the response from DCL on the schedule for dinner is lacking.........what do you guys think the best dining rotation would be ????

We had APL on both of our 7 dy cruises and had Lumiers on Formal night which was great. I did request APL as our rotation as well as a specific table. (of course the response was we will note that on your reservation, but cant guarantee it) We did get what we requested on our last cruise so I will keep my fingers crossed. But with so many castaway members that know the tricks.............

I have the smae dilemma as others......what night to book Palo......I would hate to book it and miss Pirate night.......the others I could miss, unless they come up with something special for our cruise.

I have to say, at the moment no one knows and it would be guess work, the only reference point we Will get is from the WB repo, in 2005, there were a lot of surprises and rotational menus appeared half way though, so its pin a tail on the donkey time.

Well....

... I was awakened by a hungry little girl ... and now I'm awake so I went to dredge up some lite left overs (yesterdays' chow fun for ME not my daughter who slipped back to sleep) and I've also noted that there is a NEW BBC spin-off from the Dr Who series : The Adventures of Sara Jane! So, I'll have to DVR this too to check it out. Frankly, I'm surprised Andrew has not touted this as something to check out! COuld it be THAT BAD?

The Doctor Who spin off SJA's is good, but here its shown on CBBC thats Childrens BBC, and not at peak time, I have caught most of them, not as good as Doctor Who but lots of cross references, and some of the same monsters and K9,

Sarah Jane returns to Doctor Who in this current series, I know al ot of people here like DW, but I didnt want to overdo it.

Meanwhile here is a picture of a bunny with a Slitheen on its head.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! DS is feeling much better & went back to school yesterday. Woohoo! We had a small birthday party for him at Rainforest Cafe last night. He was allowed to invite 4 friends & 1 couldn't make it last week so we postponed it. He didn't have much of an appetite still, but at least he made it. :thumbsup2

I still have that sore & stiff neck which just makes me feel all around carpy so haven't felt like posting much. Still have a great appetite though!

Cheryl glad to hear you & John are feeling better! :flower3:

Good luck Roger with your procedure!

Hope everyone else is doing well! :wizard:

Don't bother with Lawrenceville, NJ store....
