I just got a phone call from Chase about my Disney Visa card - apparently someone has gotten ahold of the number and has made over $600 in charges over the last 2 days. They are reversing all the charges, contacting the 3 credit bureaus, closing the account and issuing me new cards. I'm going to have to review the statement for our other accounts to make sure there aren't any fraudulent charges on them as well and pull a credit report to see if there are any accounts that have been opened recently. Does it never end?

Yeah - but more importantly- do you get to keep the 6 reward $ for the $600 charge :)

Here are a couple of pictures from my rental cleanup.
And she called the police that I was throwing away her "valuables". :confused3

At least it is cleaned out now. Now to just repair it.:sad2:

That is disgusting! Did you have to kick them out or was their lease up? I have been watching way too much Judge Alex. I am constantly surprised how laws favor tenants.

Thought I'd share some spring with you all.

The magnolias are really pretty this year. Sometimes a frost will get them.

I love your pictures! Spring is one of my favorite seasons. The flowers and trees blooming! I love it!! It's so pretty. Plus it reminds me that summer is on it's way.

Okay....This is realy Cheryl(MICMSE2003). i AM AT DAUGHTERS HOUSE FOR THE DAY. Naturally went shopping and found $20.00 fancy childrens hoodies for $2.97. Not too bad but that was it at Penneys.:thumbsup2

Unless you book a non-refundable rate, keep checking, it may get better, they go up and down all the time.

With a regular (no $$ up front) reservation, you can book new and cancel old for no fee.

Coral they lived there almost 3 years, after the 1st year it went on month to month and I gave them almost a 60 day notice that I was terminating their lease. I am just thankful they moved, if I would have had to evict them they would still be living there.:sad2:

Were they vengeful? I cannot imagine they lived like this day-to-day. If you gave them notice and they left it like that- I sure hope you kept the deposit (even though that is only a drop in the bucket).

From what I recall from our last visit in April 2007, they only had a keyed entry to the pool that works with your room card. So I don't see why you would have a problem getting them in the swim area. That sounds like a blast!

KIM,

I was just there yesterday ... and I suspect no one is going to give your visiting family any heat - especially if they're with you! They might need a spare key if they're to run in and out without you escorting or present... so you might just get a spare room key for them.

Cheers!

Yes they will no problem. You'll need to use your room key to get in the pool area, but other than that there is no one checking.

Thanks, everyone. I knew someone here would know. :thumbsup2

Kim

You know that is mighty interesting. We are looking into options as far as transportation and there are 6 of us.:scared1:

Cheryl- I put in 4 bags when I calced the rate and what I quoted reflects that. I would sure make that argument since their own website had that rate for 2 people w/ a total of 4 bags (not including carryons).
Here is their website. Just click on Quote.

I am soo sorry about that Lorri. I would be scared to death. :scared1: I have been charged twice in 6 months from some internet company for $4.95. I contacted Master Charge and they took it off each time. I asked what they were going to do becuase it was not my charges.:confused3 They said nothing it was just a small charge and they would be happy to wirte it off~~~  I just called and said to close down my old card and issue another. :sad2: I felt if the card was compromised for a small amout...it could be a larger amount next time.:headache:  :headache:

Okay I got the group rate of $158.52 including all taxes for the Doubletree at San Pedro. We have to book 10 rooms but we must use at least use 8 out of the 10 ressies made. They have two shuttles and start at 11 am to about 12:30 pm. ...then a lunch break. They said with lots of luggage they could transport about 16 peeps at a time. The group booking had me talk to the head that transports the shuttles to the port. There is no set charge but he would expect about $5.00 a family in gratuities. That is all I found out and didn't mean to step on any toes Stace. I am just trying to see all the options.

EWE! How could they live like that? And with themselves treating someone else property in that manner!

At least you got them out. I have heard horror stories about rental property. Penny, my uncle has had 2 different tennants pour concrete mix into his toilets and sinks.

Were they vengeful? I cannot imagine they lived like this day-to-day. If you gave them notice and they left it like that- I sure hope you kept the deposit (even though that is only a drop in the bucket).

She was a "friend" of mine and also an employee. While we were in vacation in January, she stole $2000 from me. I am prosecuting for that and now for the damage to my house. It will be the last house I rent to someone I know.

I do mortgages and I have some customers that are buying foreclosures. This happens fairly often. What I don't understand is how people can blame the mortgage company (or landlord in your case) for their own personal problems. I would be humilated and leave as quietly as I could, I wouldn't destroy the place. UGH!

Cheryl, I sure wouldn't call them "peeps" by any stretch of the imagination.:confused3
This is the same house that on Mother's day a limb fell and knocked all the power out and blew out my water line when it was hooked back up. When I walked into the basement that day, I about had a fit and told them they needed to get it cleaned up that it was a fire hazard. I should have went back and checked, but she was my friend and I trusted her when she told ne they did.:rolleyes1

I agree, we have gone into some foreclosures that have been destroyed on the inside. The outside will look nice and then you open the door to a nightmare. I guess they try to keep up appearances so the neighbors don't think ill of them.

Thanks for getting that much detail. We actually have a slightly lower rate now using my parents AARP rate.
I had actually talked to my parents about getting a cab as I am sure the hotel shuttle was going to be in hot demand. I am planning on us being at the port as close to 10 as we can get. Your info confirms we need to not wait for the hotel shuttle.
I just had a vision of a lot of us trying to get on the same shuttle. Since it is only 2.5 miles away a). the shuttle should be able to make quick trips b) the cab should not be too much for us taking that option.

That is probably more sad that someone you know would treat your property that way. :sad2:

The house across the street went into foreclosure. My DH kept the outside looking good until it was sold. We went in once as we saw tons of traffic and no Sold sign. GROSS!! Mold everywhere- totally trashed! I was so discouraged that my poor DH would have to take care of it forever but the bank finally put some $ in and it sold immediately to a very nice couple. yeah!:thumbsup2
