My sister lives about an hour north of LA, and she and her family have expressed an interest in driving down to visit with us while we're at DL. We will be staying at the Grand Californian. Does anyone know whether they'll be allowed to use the pool facilities with us?

Thanks,
Kim

So now the consensus on "Andrew's Panama Thread" is that there is no Palo brunch on Panama Day. For those that want to try & plan a Palo brunch for the same day/time, what day would be the best? Any ideas?

Last Sea Day, maybe???

From what I recall from our last visit in April 2007, they only had a keyed entry to the pool that works with your room card. So I don't see why you would have a problem getting them in the swim area. That sounds like a blast!

Good Morning everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Hope you had a great birthday Crash! What better place to spend it than at DL.

I had a busy one. I had surprise 40th birthday party for my husband. It was tough keeping it a secret. He actually found a blank invitation and I had to tell him that the party was on Sunday and not Saturday so I actually got to do some planning without him being suspicious.... whew - glad it's over with.

I think we are going with Prime Time shuttle. We will be going from LAX directly to the port, they will make a grocery stop for $10 more.

Aww GEEE...... I wish "I" had a surprise birthday party! How lucky your spouse is! A few years back Alicia tried to pull one of these off for me - but I sort of noticed something suspicious was a-foot. It went very well and was fun - but I would have liked an effective surprise! Who wouldn't? < wink >

pirate: 'ing the wishes. Hope you had a great Birthday!:goodvibes

Thank You Paula! I awoke this morning oddly THINKING about my being another year older. Not something I typically do.... and I was in an odd self reflective mood for a bit. Until I scanned the new postings and saw a couple "well wishing B-day" postings from you an' Penny... and it lifted my spirits abit... and now I feel normal and ready for this new year at age... 22. <wink>

Thanks again to everyone for the neighborly B-day thoughts. Sincerely, and with honest to goodness gratitude, thank you!

KIM,

I was just there yesterday ... and I suspect no one is going to give your visiting family any heat - especially if they're with you! They might need a spare key if they're to run in and out without you escorting or present... so you might just get a spare room key for them.

Cheers!

Are these fares similar if we're trying to get from LAX to the Disneyland area (HoJo's)? One-way on the Disneyland Express is $84 for our family of 5 so these prices are about the same, but it would probably be more flexible.

This is what I came up w/ LAX to DL for 5:

Service Fare
Shared Van service for 5 passengers
$75.00
Private Van service for up to 7 guests
$80.00
Exclusive Private Van service for up to 9 guests
$95.00

Yes they will no problem. You'll need to use your room key to get in the pool area, but other than that there is no one checking.

Count me in as a fellow Ohio native. Grew up in West Salem Ohio. Worked at Rubbermaid Inc in Wooster Ohio for years. Met DH and moved away about13 years ago. Its nice to visit but i really don't miss the snow in the winter. We do visit occasionally to see my parents and sister and brother.

My kids are dying to see snow! They have seen it only once, when it snowed on Christmas Eve, three years ago in Houston. They actually woke up Christmas morning and wanted to play outside instead of opening their gifts. DH helped them build a snowman, and that one snowman used up just about all the snow in the front yard! :rotfl2:

I'm looking out my window right now and it's snowing like crazy here in Denver. Thank goodness it's not sticking to anything as the ground is too warm.

Happy Birthday Crash !!

Well I am still looking at all of the feedback on that thread, for Brunch I would say any sea day really, you can place a pin it the diary, as we do not know the proposed schedule, the main thing will be where to place Dinner at Palo if luck to get it, as that could well clash with a number of events/shows/Pirate night etc.

Hope DCL let us know a proposed schedule, a few people have asked.

Last week in Yosemite...

... our visit to the valley floor had a few patches of snow - all inaccessable. And on our day of departure we stopped at Badger pass to see what it looked like on the closing day - well - it was SNOWING and at times snowing HARD! Making for beautiful conditions for a snowball fight or for making snowmen. Unfortunately all we had time for was a short look around and a spirited snowball fight. As such, my point is this adventure into the snow proved to be a wonderful and memorable experience for us. The stuff of childhood memories and whimsy if ya know what I mean! Next year we look forward to spending more time visiting the snow and Yosemite.

I know... some folks think I must be nuts... as there may be an abumdance of snow in your parts - but I tell you - it has a unique quality all its' own! Take a 2nd glance from another perspective and maybe you'll see more of what I'm seeing... eh? ;)

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Our poor snowmen are usually covered in just as much grass & dirt as they are snow! LOL!

Okay....This is realy Cheryl(MICMSE2003). i AM AT DAUGHTERS HOUSE FOR THE DAY. Naturally went shopping and found $20.00 fancy childrens hoodies for $2.97. Not too bad but that was it at Penneys.:thumbsup2

It was definitely Stacey (JustmeStace).

There is a Super Shuttle, PrimeTime Shuttle (sp?) and Stacey recommends Pronto Limousine.
I know how much it is for 6 of us but not sure for 2.
Would Love to have you with us meeting for dinner Sat night in SP!

Okay I found a decent rate(no view) for $20 more than I was getting the Marriot at Lax. I have some phone calling to do yet. I will let all of you know!!:woohoo:

I called Prime Time and said no problem with 4 suitcases and carryons. John called and Prime time said we would need a private car for that much lugguage for $80.  I am going to talk to Super Shuttle now and see what they say.

I was also told to talk to someone in group sales at Doubletree if there are 10 rooms. I might see what they have to say.

Christoper please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!keep the snow there. I am so sick of snow this year. :headache:

Wait til john finds out I am under his name!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
