Let us know what you think. Did you read David McCullough's book as well?

No I did not Christopher. I have read many of his works but not this one. This book sounded interesting and since it just came out I thought that I would give it a try.

Kevin and I decided that we're going to forego the sightseeing on the 16th and do DL instead. :cool1: Coral has graciously offered to not only let us park our car at her place while we're gone, but also drive :drive: us to the airport when we get there. And we were able to cancel our DCL Transfers to MCO because she suggested we ride with her and her family in their rental van!!! This will allow us a few extra bucks so that we can actually "afford" to go to DL with you guys.

I think I'll call her our Special Angel.

Very cool for you guys and what an awesome thing for Coral and her family to do!

Hi everyone!

One quick question...on your letter with the cruise kit, what date does it say that you can start booking excursions etc? I think mine is wrong. Thanks!

We finally got ours in the mail today!!

We're Castaway Club members, and it lists 5/19/08 as our date to start making reservations.

That does sound cool. My DW knows how to do it, but I know she doesn't have the time (she's working on her PhD and 3 adjunct professor positions). I'd be happy to see if she can give me pointers to do it if noone else knows.

That would be super cool!

Ahh! I am just so glad you are going to DL!!

I just started "The Path Between the Seas"

Hope you read it quicker than the 6 months it has taken me. VERY detailed and since I was studying some work stuff at the time, it just totally lost me.

I still got NOTHING! My dad brought their copy over and I read it while he read my Passporter.

When my parents were over today I said to my Mom "You have not read the new newsletter, have you?" I brought it up and went in the other room and told my Dad that it was an April Fools edition. She just would not stop about how riduclous it was to tip the Captain. After she finished that rant she went on about how the Pirates Night had been replaced w/ It's a Small World :rotfl2: She said "Dang, and we just put together Pirates costumes". At this point I am crying I am laughing so hard. My Dad had to answer since I could not even talk. he said "Well, we will have to find something to wear to represent another country now". He even said "They will have to change the dinner items now. I guess it will be hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and chocolate milk". After that my Mom said "Huh?" and we had to tell her. We were laughing about it 30 mins later. :rotfl2:

Got our package today.

One thing concerns me though.

In the Setting Sail section on page 4, the last bullet says:
Coolers with personal items such as soda or snacks may not be brought onboard. (There's no need to lug that stuff with you anyway, since complimentary sodas and food are available day and night.)
Have these booklets always said that or is this new? I'm just wondering if the rules were changing. It doesn't say anything about softsided coolers.

I wondered that too. I'm assuming that collapsible coolers are still okay with water in them.

We received our first DCL package this past week (around Wednesday I think). Today, we received another one. I guess we received two of them because we have two separate rooms booked for the cruise. More scrapbooking material for my DW!

Good evening everyone! We still haven't gotten mickey mail. i want some!! i'm getting impatient!
hope everyone has a great weekend!

I think on our last cruise I got something like this mailing. If I find it I'll take a look. Unless someone beats me to it

I looked at our cruise kit from the Eastern we took in 2006 & it says the same exact thing so its not anything new. Can't believe I actually could put my hands on it without really digging!

Still no Mickey Mail for us though :confused3

Good Morning All :surfweb:

Susan - you are cooking all that in one day - you are SuperWoman!!!

So, I just ordered a couple of books off Amazon. On of them was "Get Out of My Life, but First Can You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall". That title just about sums up, in one line, where DD's head is at these days. I really need help understanding why everything has to be so negative and stratagies to deal with it, 'cause I just don't get it.

I thought you were just kidding about the title because I am soooo gullible...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Everyone knows I love shopping but I did not realize there was a book named after me and my mall advetures!! :cool1: :lmao:  :cool1: :lmao: :rolleyes1

Yesterday on chat, someone posted a link to the MAY Repo page.

They had a cool ship map with DIS Member cabin highlighted - you could click on the cabin and a box popped up with the member's info. Anyone more computer literate know if we can do that? Obviously, once the majority of us are not GTY. :rotfl2:

That would be a great idea!!!!! What was the thread name so we could all look???:confused3

Good luck with your celebration for your DS, Susan. The food sounds tasty.
:goodvibes

:wave2: :wave2: Sounds like you might make a fortune with the Derby parking!!:woohoo: :woohoo: Sounds like you have been really busy with cleaning out the rental property!!:sad2:

That is great news Debi!!!:goodvibes Coral is an

Very do-able, need rooms first!

Oh I love the idea!!! :yay: :yay:

I just ignored that part!!!:rolleyes1 We all have our new Staples softsided coolers now!!:cheer2: I hope they were meaning no ice chest allowed.:flower3:

Does anyone else feel that the title is soooo appropriate for this bunch? Especially with our super shopper Cheryl????

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Let us know if the book is any good. Many of us have ST's that are in that attitude period right now.

I thought Mary Ann was just making fun of my love to shop!!!;) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

WE'VE GOT MAIL TOO!!!!!!!!!!

5/19/08 is the date shown on ours...

The problem i have with the complimentary soda statement is that lest time we were on the Magic it was not self serve and they closed them down at night. (so you could only order and pay for drinks through room service)

But more important for me is that i shouldn't have ANY soda... (per doctor's order)
Well and i wouldn't drink it from a fountain anyway.

With as much water as i need they better let me bring it on.

The soda station never closed even on my 10 day cruise.:thumbsup2 Go figure.:confused3 :confused3

I have no adornments other than 1 single piercing in both ears on my entire body.
I bet my life savings it will stay that way until my death. :rotfl2:
I do like my jewelry so I guess that will be my adornment. :)

That would be me, also. And I usually wear clip earrings. ;)

I could bet our house that dh & I will never get any tattoos or other piercings.
24dd has 2 small tats (the only one that you can se is the one on her foot) and her DH HATES them. She got them when she was 18/19 and knew EVERYTHING! :rotfl: :rotfl: I tell people that she got them because she knew I hated them. ;)

The problem with this is that anyone in a suite that is paid in full can start booking their Palo, etc reservations on May 4th and I am sure they would like to know before that point what the theme nights are. I have been in contact with everyone that I know at DCL and they do not have any info at all. They are getting fustrated too because they are getting daily phone calls :rolleyes1 from people asking for this information.

ANd it is driving me CRAZY that we don't have a schedule yet!!! less then a month to go and I have no real info!

Does anybody else think that it's ironic that according to the cover letter that came with the planning kit, it calls the booking date the "hassle-free date".

Especially after the horror stories the WB cruisers had making their ressies.

Too funny!
Megan and Miranda think life begins when you are 12. They can sit in the front seat for the 1st time in the car, they get a cell phone and then can get their ears pierced.
Funny but Megan will be 12 in July and she has absolutely no desire to get her ears pierced. I am sure at some point she will change her mind but glad she is in no hurry.
It might have something to do with the fact that our next door neighbor, who is in Megan's class got her ears infected and it was GROSS! Or the fact that one of Miranda's friend got 1 ear pierced and said it hurt so bad she never went back and had the other one done. There is a 7 year old walking around with 1 ear pierced.:rotfl2:

DD got her ears pierced when she was almost 6. She was so nervous, I wasn't sure she would actually go through with it. Luckily, there were 2 girls working that night so they were able to pierce both of her ears at the same time. Otherwise, she also might be walking around with only one ear pierced! :rotfl:
