Wow, my kids have birthday's 10 days apart. My Dad, my nephew & I also have April birthday's. Makes for a hectic Spring every year.
i agree! between birthdays and easter, spring is the worst!! we usually do the family party, and then the kids get to do their own friend party. this year, we get to throw dd's dance competition into the mix...not fun!!! plus i'm still trying to keep up to date with all the planning here, and figuring stuff out for the toal. time is flying!

Still can't Ketchup,,
Hey, It's almost Friday.
even though time is flying...i still wish it was friday!!
Great offers Monica ! Enjoy I see we have something in common. Another April baby here.

I just can't believe next month we can schedule our excursions !!! I still need to talk with Chuck about and find us flights to LA.

Is there anyone out there who thought about ins. but didn't get it?:rolleyes1 Is it to late and does anyone know if it will cost a fortune> TIA

i'm wondering about the insurance too! can anyone help with this?? is it too late? is it gonna cost a fortune?? tia!

After I read his post, I asked him why he didn't introduce himself. Told him no one would no who he is.....His response: "I'm mysterious."

Guess not so mysterious.....

We saw that "Buck-eye" OHIO logo (that's how you say it right....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ) and assumed he belonged to you

Trip insurance shouldn't cost a fortune now compared to before. You will still be able to get it, but it will most likely not kick in until after you start the trip, i.e. get on the plane, or whatever your first covered event ends up being.

At least with the company I go with, if you buy insurance within 48 hours (maybe 72) of booking you are covered for trip cancelation for reasons like a death in the family, illness, natural disaster, house fire, etc., after you make your final payment, but before your trip begins.

If you wait to get TI sometime later, after the 48 hour window, you can still get insurance, but the benefits don't kick in until the trip starts, so if you have a family emergency after PIF date, but before the trip starts you are SOL.

We always get TI when we book cruises because we go with a company that will cover DH's leave getting pulled at the last minute. Of course, with this trip I told him that his refund will = more spa appointments and drinks for me! I'm going with or without him.

Just for being on their mailing lists I have received the following birthday offers:

What you're not registered with Coldstone creamery? They send you a coupon for free LOVE IT.

And on another note - I bought a sled kit with all the wood cut to shape and ready for assemblyand finishing. What a deal for me an' the kids to assemble for next winters' sledding.

New sleds..... a sure sign you will have no snow for at least 5 years....

YUMMY - The Melting Pot - so expensive but what GREAT food and a great experience!! Went there for my birthday last year.

I  melting pot too..... It's just soo much food though.. (cause who could skip the cheese or salad or entree or god forbid dessert)

BTW kids....

In 19 weeks, at this time I will be somewhere over the Central US in a plane...

I won't leave the cabin until coffee has been delivered and I've had at least a few cups! It's one of the tremendous benefits of the cruise -- put the card out the night before, use its delivery as a wake up call, and then have breakfast once semi-caffeinated . . .

OK, confession time....

I am a coffee snob and can not stomach DCL/WDW coffee. I bring my french press and my Peet's Arabian Mocha Java when I vacation. DH just shakes his head at me. He's a tea man.

A friend forwarded this to me today:

Subject: Proposed Mastectomy Law Change (written by a surgeon)

This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends.

Thanks Lori - signed it and passed it on

Monica,
Have you stayed in one of the sideways cabins before? Ours is a Cat 11 sideways too, but I have never stayed in one before. So I am wondering what is different (better) about them. I think we were just lucky. Had a AAA TA book our cruise.

Nope haven't stayed in one yet. I had one booked last year but then I got upgraded. Everyone says they seem bigger although the square footage is the same. But instead of opening the door and having this long cabin in front of you, it's spread out to the side bed on one side, lounge area on the other. I really just went for the sideways in an attempt to make my Cat 11 seem more special.

I sneaked a peek inside one of these and I think the set up really does give the appearance of more room.

Came home to a nice surprise today....I got Mickey Mail,I got Mickey Mail!

:cool1: :cool1:

I'm still GTY6:rolleyes: I keep wondering if I should call and ask for a room assignment or hope for an upgrade:confused3

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: A little Pixie Dust may help!

I haven't recieved anything yet but I did just call my TA and pay off our cruise!

I am also trying to get thru to Disney Weddings... but my consultant is on vacation..I get to book Palo 105 days out and wanted to see if I get to book my excursions too. (I know..I am being greedy!)

I am jealous..it seems like everyone is on deck 6..I'm on deck 7..I will have to come down the stairs to play ding dong ditchem first thing in the morning!

Have a great Wednesday!

Desiree

Congrats on paying off your cruise

I'm seething right now. So frustrated with my medical and dental health care. I typed out my nice long rant only to be logged out by DIS when I clicked to submit my post. So now add DIS to my frustration.

Oh well......off to drink some RUM....maybe that will help.

...not to mention prescription drug coverage. I have become an expert fighting for my meds :faint: - good thing rum is cheap

Hope you get it straitened out

Thanks, good pranks are all about the details.
April 2nd I'll be celebrating DS's Birthday.

11 years ago yesterday, I was sitting in the Ob-Gyn's office saying OK God, I really can't do an April Fools's baby. So, how about we wait till tomorrow? Funny thing was my water had broke but the Ph test came back negative, so they didn't think it really happened (can you say head like a cork ?) If the test had come back positive, I would have been admitted on the 1st.

:bday: Happy (belated) Birthday to your DS :bday:

Sorry BIP, you weren't around when we stood that board up, just to collect the valuable planning information from here and store it in easy to find place. You can create your own username/pass there and you will be in. Most people using same name as here.

I have also been away from our meets thread for a while and I just found this yesterday through a link in one of the posts. I thought it was a pretty good idea. Since I have been absent so long it was nice to catch up on what is being planned in one spot becasue I know I will never be able to catch up on all the posts I have missed in the last month or so.

Thanks to everyone that worked on the forum - I think it looks great.

YUMMY - The Melting Pot - so expensive but what GREAT food and a great experience!! Went there for my birthday last year.

Mmmmmmm, Melting Pot. My neice is having her birthday party there tomorrow night.

i'm wondering about the insurance too! can anyone help with this?? is it too late? is it gonna cost a fortune?? tia!

This is my next project to get out of the way to prepare for the trip. I have used MedJet in the past and I don't think it was to expensive to insure the entire family.

Brooke has a passport and we were told it was good for 5 years. I always thought you could renew after that.:confused3 Hope you get them soon.:wizard:

The cutoff is 16, I think to be able to renew. The more I thought about it, it makes sense. Passports are now required for newborns. Imagine how different they would look 5 years later.
The girls passports expire 2 months after the TOAL and someone said we need 6 months left.

There are a couple of insurance websites on the website
thanks tom! going to check it out right now!

yikes! this scares me!!! guess i should have looked into it sooner.

Anyone that would like an official map of DL and DCA there are these official Disney PDF versions.

Disneyland PDF map

California Adventure PDF map

I have posted these sites under Pre-cruise info on the planning board.

Thanks! After many trips to WDW, I pretty much have the park maps memorized and no longer carry them. The maps in the unofficial guide to DL are difficult to really read, so this is very helpful! I'll have them mostly memorized before the trip to make our time more efficient.

Maybe that would be a cool one to have on the room tour.... :confused3

Thanks. :thumbsup2 That was the intent of creating them. :thumbsup2 Another member of our thread, Ed Martin did all the work and most of the ideaing. :worship: :worship:

Every so often we try to give updates of what's there, to save checking back and forth:

uh, okay this makes no sense to me. Sorry. I don't mean to offend anyone but our thread is too busy for some people to bother with- so we have not only the pirates website but yet ANOTHER board to keep up with? I mean add yet another board to keep up with for everyone else because "some people" couldn't keep up here?
So what- that board is only for "important posts" and not chattering? why can't the info stlll be put on the pirates website for those of us not interested in registering and reading yet ANOTHER board just because some people don't want to mess with this thread. And btw that important stuff the first post could have a link to where the post is (in the thread) with the info- so it's not like they'd have to hunt thru pages and pages to find it. This really makes no sense to me and I'm getting a little tired of registering at so many places. I'm not trying to be mean- I'm just tired of registering here and there because OTHER people don't want to deal with the thread here. for crying out loud... make it harder on everyone else just to please them? they don't want to keep up with this thread or even follow a link that could be made to the post in this thread so I have to go to another board, register and everything?

you know- we really wanted the bracelets but it's not worth registering at another board. I'm on the DIS.. and this is our thread. We shouldn't have to register somewhere else to participate in group things like that. One other board for info/chat/etc. is enough... 2 is really ridiculous IMO
:(

Having not been along for the entire "ride" on the DIS board, I like having both sites. My DW uses the Pirate zone site exclusively to keep up to date and has only been on the DIS one time and finds it overwhelming. I find it absolutely amazing and gracious that someone(s) has taken the time and effort to set up the pirate zone site at no cost just for our little ol' cruise.
It's very helpful with the planning tools, ability to see a little bit about fellow pirates and now, being able to discuss some of the key planning issues.

My guess is that the extra discussion board is necessary so that we can effectively interact on the site. Yes, they could simply post the planning information links to the first page of this thread, but there would be no way for members to concisely and effectively post their suggestions/feedback/comments. Although it'd be nice to have the same log-in for both, I'm not a tech geek but I'm sure that the pirate zone board was set-up in the most effective way to accomplish the ability to interact with the planning info available on pirate zone site and there's no way to really accomplish it on the DIS without asking for own dedicated section. Plus, I just use the same username and password that I use on the DIS, so it's easy to remember.

Thank you, thank you to Tom, Ed and everyone else involved in establishing & maintaining the pirate zone site and board!! :worship: :worship:

Ok so after a few shots of tequila and a check of the email, my spirits are lifted. Still dealing with the medical bills, but because my birthday is next week (subtle hint) it seems as if I have some good meals in my future. Just for being on their mailing lists I have received the following birthday offers:
  • A free burger of choice at Red Robin
  • 10 free hotwings at Wing Stop
  • Buy 1 meal get 1 free at Sweet Tomatoes
  • Free dessert at Bucca di Beppo (sp?)
  • Free appetizer at Joe's Crab Shack
  • 25% off the total bill at Fresh Choice
  • Free Chocolate Fondue for Two at Melting Pot
Oh, and got a $50 off offer for Movado watches, good even on sale prices and at the outlet.

Not a bad haul for just signing your name.!!;) Sweet Tomatoes is one of my favorite places. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It is lemon month(that is their theme for April) with some new yummy looking foods.:woohoo:

Thanks Roger......now I get to see what I am really missing at DL.:sad1: :sad1:
ps. I really don't understand because I just noticed it IS on the pirates website which I've already registered with. so why is my registration for that board not good enough for the discussions part? why is it seperate and requesting me to register just for that part? confused.........

who owns it and runs that discussion board?

Tom had graciously helped run the board when there was no one else that stepped up to the plate!!:worship: :worship:  It was hard to post REAL INFO which seemed to get lost in this thread. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Glad you decided to register with the second thread. :thumbsup2 Our first Pirate Zone Site did not accomodate questions or feed back like the new one does!! We owe Ed Martin a big Thank You too!!!:worship: :worship:
