Wow, congratulations and welcome aboard. I checked today just for fun, but didn't see anything.

Roger, I hope the charter school works out. I don't know much about them other than they rely heavily on parent participation. It was one of the options tossed around for Trevoy.

We're in a bit of a school closure situation too. The middle school that we just transfered to is in desparate need of retrofitting. They've decided to stop using the campus after this year, but they are not closing the school. They will relocate to one of the elementary schools. Well the parents at said school are pretty upset, just like what you're dealing with. They are filing lawsuits and such to try to prevent it. Not sure where the middle school will end up, but it's not safe to send the students back to the original location.

One thing to think about. On our 10-night holiday cruise, we had AP the first night but they did not do "the show" that night (e.g. the restaurant did not change colors). Our waiters told us our show dinner would be later in the week b/c not everyone eats in the mess the first night and they didn't want people to miss it. Not sure how they do this on the repos.

Good point. Dang!
My wit often gets me into trouble. I tend to say the things that other people are thinking but don't say. Like at work the other day, we were discussing that the head of our mobile division in EMEA is supposedly leaving to go to Apple. His last name is Fenger, so of course, I had to say "We're giving Apple the Fenger".

I mean, everyone in the room was thinking it. I need to work on my inner monologue.

They actually named what my problem is at work. They are called "Coral'isms". It goes something like this "Wow you look great after you lost weight", "You are wearing make up today- you look great" etc.

Congrats again....just as I start to work out again, I get struck my another setback. Around 3:00 a.m. this morning I was awoken by the pain from another gout attack. I wish I knew what brought these on, but after having walked about three miles each day during the past week and a half, I now can barely walk around the house. (I was running 5 miles a day before these gout attacks started). I guess it'll be a while before I can try again. I am eating better and will do what is necessary to be at goal by the cruise!

That must be very frustrating. Sorry this is happening to you! It must be terrible to have the desire but not the means to exercise. Makes me feel bad I can but usually choose not to.

Coral, I'm the same way. I research everything myself, can't bring myself to put blind trust in a doctor:confused3 I looked on the internet and I can see why the images would be disturbing, but I'm sure they were pictures taken before the repair and stitches that the plastic surgeon would do-doctors like to show off their skills (see how bad it was before I fixed it kinda thing) Found this video of a woman who had Mohs at 1 week post op and 3 weeks post op (I think). Maybe you saw this already. Anyway her images look like what my Mom had.http://video.aol.com/video-detail/plastic-cosmetic-surgery-nasal-cancer-mohs-jo/3290524312
Pretty amazing what doctors can do these days.

Thanks for the link. :thumbsup2 I am going to check it out.

My cats actually wait outside the shower so they can get in when we are finished:confused3 Not when the water is running. They like to lick the water off the walls:rolleyes: Yes, they have plenty of fresh water, they like shower water better:confused3
Our cat will only drink out of the faucet. We even bought one of those water fountain and still wants fresh water out of the sink. No wonder no one accepts our dinner invitations. :)

Thanks to Coral and Cheryl:yay:
I've got an appointment with the dermatologist tomorrow for a skin cancer check. Let you know how it goes tomorrow:rolleyes1

Good deal although I am sure you are going to be ick free. :thumbsup2

KSDisneyDad, I am so sorry to hear this..........I am still fighting my ankle/foot pain too. I am in the same boat (haha) as you. I have not been able to walk nor run for over 2 weeks now. I am going stir crazy. After carving out time to run 5 - 6 miles every other day, now nothing, I feel like such a slug. I am still eating basically nothing and have gained a pound or two - YIKES! I go back to the orthopedic tomorrow, hopefully he will have some more answers???

Take care of yourself and get well SOON!!

So happy to have you join our family Ingrid!!

This would mean that we would have both of our Formal nights in Parrot Cay.

ok yuk..... maybe i could lean towards 5:30 then...I'd rather Plah....

EWW....I don't like both formals being in PC. Would much rather have Pirate night in PC.

Only problem is we have no idea if they will pick cartagena or aruba.... If cartagena then 5:30 rotation would have PC.

:headache: :headache::headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

My knowitall Dsis now tells me i should give up my TOAL because apparently she doesn't think i'm taking good enough care of DD.

Hmmm maybe pot shouldn't call kettle anything as her own step-daughter has never lived with her and DBIL. (she lives with the Ex's mom) Well that and her son is only 4 so not really old enough to cause much trouble YET.

uh oh satellite is out.... Storms a coming....

Cheryl pointed me to WB thread... just to add to the confusion....

This is the OFFICIAL word not hearsay ar a maybe but what we are honestly ALLOWED to do.

The owner of IDS called the Coast Guard yesterday and told them about us crazy Disney people and our desires to ship boxes of fish stuff and pirate gear. :) The problem before was the screening of our stuff. The boxes had to have a way to be screened so the Coast Guard is now going to have a dog sniff our stuff that we ship. SO WE CAN SHIP BOXES!!! The owner of IDS arranged this and seems like a very nice guy.

Now the bittersweet part.
1) We are allowed one box shipped per stateroom only.

2)It must be the size of a records box and weigh no more then about 20-25 pounds he said.

3)No alcohol in boxes.

4)No food or drinks. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

5)Label the box with your sailing vessel, sailing date, stateroom or ressie number and GTY status if you are unassigned yet.

6) make a packing list and put it in a sealed envelope and tape this to the box. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

7) If your box is hit on by the dog or choosen for addition screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding.

These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail amung other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Hey one box is better then none! :flower3:

THIS IS NOT JUST FOR OUR SAILING BUT ALL SAILINGS FROM TODAY FORWARD.

Welcome aboard! I saw you poking around the planning board this afternoon so you are definitely heading in the right direction. Just jump on in.

It's funny, most of us (myself included) have indicated we feel somewhat shy. If I'm in work, I'm running my mouth off. But, if I'm at a party where I don't know anyone, I can't think of a thing to say.

I really can't begin to imagine not feeling like everyone here is a life long friend.
Ya know Lisa, this last weekend was kind of strange when I dialed Monica's phone number at DL. I am really going to meet these imaginary friends that I have been talking (on the computer) for the past year. What was this going to be like. Rest assured that with all of our chatting back and forth we all really do know each other and within no time it was like being with friends that you haven't seen in a long time.

EWW....I don't like both formals being in PC. Would much rather have Pirate night in PC.
Hey, I am just the messenger (OCP). :lmao:

Thanks Monica. There are no winners when you come to closing or moving any ones school. We all feel that our school is the best. Ours has become like family since we have been at that elementary school since 2000 (Madison for 6 yrs). I don't know what the answer is. Cherie is at the Charter meeting now and I need to go apply at all of the private schools around us to have a chance to get in for 2009.

I'm in. :thumbsup2 I have at least 5 Olympus cameras. Will probably have 3-4 on TOAL. Most camera aficionados poo-poo them but I have been happy with what I get out of them.

And you will be meeting a few people at the Franklin Institute in April?????

(oh, we will be there also)

You know it is impossible for outsiders to realize the full situation. A parent cannot control everything a child does. I have one child to the outside world is a model child in every way. I have another one that struggles emotionally and socially. Sometimes in public she will act out and it is so embarrassing. All of our neighbors were outside this weekend and Megan screamed an obscenity to me. I know to not react and I am sure ever one who saw me calmly follow her in the house were thinking "She acts that way because she gets away with it". The truth is complete calm is the only thing that "works".
We never know when she will reach this point so most of the time she is a lovely girl. Bottom line is you know the real situation and you Sister does not.

One of my worthless degrees and graduate work is in counseling. I still struggle sometimes on the best thing to do.
Hang in there. I had a professor say that the kids that were raised "right' will stray but will eventually turn around. Hope he is right.

Thanks for DFs birthday wishes! Our school district is projecting declining elementary enrollment over the next few years. This is debatable and have seen sources that it might actually be increasing over the same time frame. The school district has targeted our school because it is the smallest (in kids) in the district. They feel that closing the smallest school will cause the least disruption. :confused3 But to take a top school and scatter us into 3 of the bottom schools really sinks as far as us parents are concerned. We have had in the past, an option of school choice. You can apply for your child to attend another school in the district other than the one your are assigned to. Funny thing happened yesterday morning, they rescinded the school choice option from our school district prior to the board meeting last night. Now only the kids from the two closing schools can school choice (sounds good so far) BUT you can only school choice to the school you are slated to move to in 2009. :sad2: So basically they are allowing us to move to a school that we are assigned to a year earlier. Anyway, tonight we are having a grass roots meeting to form a charter school. We already have people working on this, so today I am reading about charter schools. Thanks again for all of your words of encouragement.

Sorry to hear of the school problems... it's difficult when all you want is the best for your kids. My DS started going to a charter school this year. His is the 3rd class in so we're still breaking ground & learning. The biggest thing everyone has learned this year is COMMUNICATION. If some area breaks down (admin, teachers, parents), things can quickly get out of hand. Good luck with it... if it works it's great.

I totally agree with this. As evidenced this week, everyone who met my son this weekend was shocked to find out what happened with his suspension at school. No one in my family other than my parents have seen his rages. They hear my telling of the stories and know he's in treatment, but they can't quite comprehend it all. The kid they see is sweet, polite, caring, and intelligent.

Stay strong Kristina. It may not seem like it, but you will get through this.
