Under the category of the strangest things happen to people I know:
My co-worker whose husband died was with her family on the way to the funeral and a truck ran into their car. They ended up going to the funeral but had to stop it to take my friend to the hospital. Apparantly she has internal bleeding. How sad she could not even bury her husband. :guilty:
Is the bizarre or what?

Coral that is horrible. I sure hope she is OK.:grouphug:

I haven't played ketchup for the past few days and I wanted to mention Bip that I sure hope you manage to come with us!!!! I am sending lots of Pixie Dust pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :grouphug: your way.

Glad you are getting money back.... I was just told from our CPA that I owe as much as a Cat 8 being charged for the TOAL for two to Uncle Sam this year. :mic:

Don't you just love tax time. I try to break about even every year, I do pretty well on the federal side. But KY, keeps changing the way they do our S-corps and the last 3 years have been the pits. They went back to the way it was done in 04 this year, but didn't decide that until December.:crazy2:

Thanks Cheryl I'll tell her! :goodvibes

BTW did you get my email about dining? I no longer use outlook so my sent messages don't always show up. :confused3

Anyone have this happen?
Our dog refuses to go into the kitchen. It has wood floors like the rest of our house so it's not that. She will stand at the entrance and even if her beloved boyfriend (DH, Bill) calls her she won't go through. She will go all the way around to the other entrance to the kitchen but will not go into the kitchen.
Makes me laugh because my parents are forever battling keeping their dogs out of the kitchen and I can't get mine in there. :confused3
Anyone know what it could be?

No but I have a dog that runs when somebody breaks wind! Probably not the same though huh? :lmao:

:grouphug: I'm a little frustrated with excursions and my travelling companions also :crazy2: We're travelling w/friends that also have 2 sons. The boys will be 13,12,11 and 9. My youngest son (the 9 year old) has been begging and pleading to do a zip line through the Jungle, so me in an attempt to hold onto some Mom-of-the-year votes agreed that we'd do that and the kids are all beyond excited. My friend has decided that if it's not a Disney sponsored excursion ... she won't go. Disney zip-line excursions are for ages 10 and up :sad1:

I would stick your plans and tell her that you are sorry she won't be joining you on the excursion and to enjoy their day. But I guess it would be possible for you to book on your own and she book through DCL? It's not like you won't have 14 other days to do lots of things together.:)

Sounds like she is afraid of something in there, poor thing. Has she always been like that?

Please don't talk to me about taxes. I did the first run through mine over the weekend and we owe about 8G's due to a foul-up with some of my wife's stock options. So now it is round-and-round with the broker to get them to fix their error to reduce the amount of tax owed.

i sensed a disturbance in the force..... (or is that in our case "farce")

hmmm 7:30 my time would be better (i have gym class from 5:30-6:30 but may treadmill afterwards if i feel up to it.)

No disturbance in force or farce which is more likely.:lmao: Just want to finalize some things with you about dining!!!:thumbsup2

I sense a marathon phone call tonight:chat: , remember you are going to be talking to Cheryl.
looks like I get control of the TV tonight.:yay: :cheer2:

John

Remember you will be taping everything I am missing and will watch it again with me.

Oh nooooo Kristina, your day just went from bad to.....
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
:mic: :mic: :mic: and :mic: :mic: Aren't you glad you can't hear what I am saying to you!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Thanks Cheryl I'll tell her! :goodvibes

If you did not get e-mail from me.....let me know. I sent a confirmation bach to you yesterday.:wave2: :wave2:

I have no one to go round and round with. I owe 4G due to some stock I owned for twenty years and it was a private buy out from a private company!:sad1: :sad1:

aww Shelley

I myself am starting to have serious doubts about taking ANY family members with me....

I finally went out to the DCL excursion lists to look around and just looked at the Cabo ones.

Well apparently that started WW3 in that DH refuses to even consider anything that i want to do. And i'm not going on this trip to sit on the boat the whole time with his grumpy add in the room. I'd rather stay home if that's what i'd have to put up with.

Any chance dining could put my dh and dd at another rotation and let me eat with the fun crowd?

Apparently since he doesn't swim he WON't do anything that involves water or boats. (although he did do ok on the Glass bottom boat in the Bahamas)

I'd like to do the BOB's (ok no snarky quotes swabbies) or the yacht race thing or at least the Los arcos boat tour.

Does anyone else feel like they're saddled with the wet blanket?

and does your wet blanket make you feel as guilty as mine? Apparently my leaving them behind would be as terrible as trying to force them to go on the excursion.

Anyone think i've got enough time to get a divorce and take custody of the DCL TOAL ressie?

i could just scream today......:hyper:

Yup, kinda the same. I was really looking at the BOB as well. He won't go into the water. Seems he has forgotten he knows how to swim :rotfl2: Zipline intrigued me as well but I know he will not want to do that and the walking would be too much for him. However, he says do what you want!!!!! Yeah ,Like I wouldn't feel the least bit guilty??????

John

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lunchtime posting. Need to run back to the :badpc: .
I have to send :grouphug: :grouphug: to those of you with your baby stories. What can I say.

Hi Cheryl!!!! Guess you will be burning the lines tonight.

Cheryl, let me know if you didn't get my email..............Gotta run

Anyone else out there to link Dining so we are all on the same dining rotation!!!:confused3 :confused3

See first page of thread for details.:flower3: :grouphug:

That is horrific! It makes you wonder how much the human spirit can take sometimes! :sad1:

I just found out that it was 3 1/2 hours :scared1: :scared1: into the funeral when they "called it" What the heck funeral lasts 3 1/2 hours?

No but I have a dog that runs when somebody breaks wind! Probably not the same though huh? :lmao:

Sounds like she is afraid of something in there, poor thing. Has she always been like that?

I had not noticed it before. DH pointed it out the other day and he was surprised as well. Now I am not the greatest cook so maybe she has heard that unpleasant things come from that room.
:lmao:

Ok this is for Saturday 4/26/08

I think an afternoon admission might be better to accomodate for anyone who is travelling to get there.

On the last two lines select first the pm slots. Then select second the exact time you want.

I am purchasing tickets for the 1:00 pm admission. We are planning on arriving at the institute in the late morning and exploring the rest of the institute first. We can all meet up at the cafeteria at 12 noon. If anyone is getting there early, we can meet up earlier.

I just renewed our membership and got our tickets for April 26th at 1:00PM. We'll probably get there earlier that day. Can't wait to meet everyone there. Thanks again for organizing things Lisa!

OK Deep Breathe - would it help if he was with someone that is like him? Although DH is a bit better, he too plays the - why can't you go without me card, and is perfectly content to sleep all day - he's the original male Sleeping Beauty - without the beauty of course! ;) MIL ( ) says its because he works so hard that I should just leave him alone. :lmao: Anyway, after one too many - go without me - I did - so now I "force" him along. He has recently admitted to - I just come along for the ride - but I'll take that. He gets seasick (usually ok the big boat though) and trainsick and can never go snorkeling so I know what you mean. But if this trip means a lot to you - I'd continue to prepare just in case you do make that last minute thought awareness of - I just can't miss this boat. BTW, I took the EB TransAtlantic by myself (with friends) left the family in Paris while I went back to Barcelona - it turned out to the best 2 weeks of my life in a long time. I had time to do a lot soul searching and realized that I didn't need a wet blanket holding me back and that I wasn't going to let that be the sole reason for not doing anything, hence, I signed us up with Paula to do zip in Cabo. :rotfl2: DH doesn't know - I also signed us up to do kayaking - which he says - he'll wrench his shoulder - he can sit on the sidelines - I'm going. I still have a few months to get in shape - his shape? Well he's a guy - he can sit on the sidelines.

In hope things work out for you - don't feel bad - many of us have a significant other you is the same way - I just chose to believe its because they are jealous of our newfound friendships which they can never understand!

We're going through big boundary fights here right now. The school district lost their lawsuit over the land they wanted for a third high school so now they moved the site to the northern part of the district which means some of the 'richer' neighborhoods will now have to go to the 'older' school (built in 1975) instead of the newer school (built in 1983) or the newest school to be built. They are all up in arms over it and causing a lot of arguments.

Frankly I don't care because we are on the best districts in IL (not really saying much) and my son swims on a swim team at the oldest school b/c the program at his school (the 1983 one) is run like an Olympic program instead of the recreational program it is supposed to be.

Our district has two high schools now, each with over 4000 kids. My HS graduating class was 183 people. I enjoyed that because basically any kid could play any sport, have a spot in the musical, etc. b/c there wasn't much competition.

I never did understand the districts need to mess with something that is working. But I do admit - 4000 is a lot kids in one place. Our class too had about the same number of poeple but our school only held about 2000 student.

I won't argue with you on this point except to say, next time, you can kill your own spiders. :lmao:

OK - :rotfl: this is funny! Good one J.R. or evil twin or whatever! :lmao:

My friend has decided that if it's not a Disney sponsored excursion ... she won't go. Disney zip-line excursions are for ages 10 and up :sad1:

I would say what Paula said later - go ahead without her - the wrath of the family or disappointment is harder to deal with then a friend. Besides - with 15 days - you might want some time away from each other anyway. Jusd think - the smiles on your sons' faces is worth it - not to mention the evil grin you get when you compare how much $$ you will save over her excursions. Don't Buckle!

Anyone have this happen?

She will stand at the entrance and even if her beloved boyfriend (DH, Bill) calls her she won't go through. Anyone know what it could be?

Its Charlie (the ghost) our dogs did that for about a 2 week period. Don't know why but she refused to go outside to do her business - had a couple of rough days until I finally sat down and held her and talked to her. DS says its because we had a possumm in the back yard - I didn't care - but she is a sensitive dog and so we just started funning saying she was sensing something but you know - after it was all over - I had to wonder. Strange things were happening in the house - lights coming on and the thermostat screen was just acting funny - wasn't coming on but it just starting blinking and then it just stopped. So who knows - - just hold your dog and see if you can get her/him to walk through with you. Sometimes they just need encouragement.

I would stick your plans and tell her that you are sorry she won't be joining you on the excursion and to enjoy their day. But I guess it would be possible for you to book on your own and she book through DCL? It's not like you won't have 14 other days to do lots of things together.:)

You should post this once a day or every other day just so people know ....you know how fast this thread can move sometimes and not everyone goes to the first page ...

OK all - will be doing some posting tonight - I will be contacting those that have so far asked to be on the SM list. I spent the entire Oscar process doing this worksheet and this is sad - looks like there are an equal number of kids to adults. My fault - I will contact Tom tonight but in the meantime, be aware that I will be sending an email out to confirm only. PLEASE do not send anything until tomorrow - I will then post here when I have sent them off.

Keep in mind that I am on CA (PST) time and that I am an insomniac and will be working late - hopefully by Tuesday morning - you all will have gotten something - those that I have anything for. If after that time you haven't heard from me - please pm me. But as I said - I will make an announcement here and will be contacting Tom to put further info someplace else.

Thanks All -
