Seriously,

I'm just passing through - mostly browsing through past postings to catch up on stuff... an' I'm quotin' this just ta' say 'ello. Now back to ketchin' up. :surfweb:

A few weeks ago in chat I was talking about taking a run up to Napa. Unfortunately never made it. I've been contemplating this weekend, especially since they are celebrating the opening of a new public market with local purveyors, high end eateries, specialty shops and a farmer's market. But I'm getting discouraged by the forcast for rain.

I stumbled up this that has totally convinced me to go.

Wow!

Forty five smackers fer a walk about choco tastin' tour?!? Well... I'll do the same kind of tour for only twenty smackers. Of course, my idea of a tour may be limited to sittin' around and while people watchin' I'll be handin' out choco left overs from halloween! I'm not responsible if any of the chocolates are sort of splotchy from 2006 or older.

And just in case - I'll have last minute registration discounts... 95% off for those joining the tour within the last 24 hours!

< wink >

Nope none of the above! Tonight we used on demand & got "No Reservations" starring Catherine Zeta Jones & my eyes are all swolling and puffy from bawling! :sad1: It was a good one!

Be forewarned about Bucket List.

I was wonderin' about that one. I just saw "Jumper" yesterday. I'm partial to the fantasy / sci-fi flicks and I enjoied it - in spite of it's short comings. I vaguely recall the last flick I saw before that one was National Treasure (the new one) and then "I am Legend" before that.

I'm reading and posting backward. No good will come of this. :sad2: I can't even walk and chew gum at the same time.

Did someone say "short"?? Not even 5'2" here. I'm not a stick, though. More like a stub. Or if we're talking trees, then I'm the trunk.

usapet.gif

Don't call yerself short until you've met MY spouse. She's a size ZERO petite for some things - otherwise a size 2 petite for the rest of the manufacturers and cuts. An' as such I am not quite sure HOW tall she really is... curious eh? I been with her how many years ... or rather ... decades ... and I don't know precisely how TALL or heavy she is?

:yay: ..to go....mismce..or lil' pirate: girl!

...ahh, you got it..my mistakes..riddles~ , it was before
work so i was rush..for work.

we're covered in ice...snowing like a hurricane! . however,
i be..real careful before..leaving & going back to fla. they have sand.

we like 8pm or 8:15, ...kind like to go with gerrffic's family if available.
...yes, i think that would be nice. ha! but you might..spill the beans...
me, talking about ...my lil'miss ..adventures.... . * we been
discussing polo's..& i don't think we 'll be doing this time...[ we have
done many times..& becos, being on late.]

i haven't kept..up. are there alot on late from here?..and have you
noticed..crossfires? either way, we are going late....& hoping for good
company. to me that means "talkers"....& kids tolerant. :earsboy:
& :earsgirl: . oh, i am sorta nosy...:rolleyes1

:flower3: ..roger...that's great...but iam sooo happy, not having to
go thru that!...oh, mismce...so sorry..that's awful. its been awhile..

oh. premies...unblical cather...where's our colorado's mother ?
...due to the higher attitude ..reduced birth wts. .however, those
that lacked size..sure were spunky! any baby over 3lbs...never
had any problems. newborns..focus ..used to be on breathing,
& maintaning...body heat. we used to flick the bottom of their feet...
man..they didn't like that..one lil'bit....

here's the plug...pre-natal care= the difference between life and
death..sick & healthy. worth every penny we paid! :thumbsup2

Adam's school has been on lockdown now for about 2 hours. Someone called 911 to say that a student had a gun or appeared to have one. I have been texting him and he said he is OK. They aren't really telling the students what is going on. So I am glued to the TV this morning.

army_squirrel.jpg

Last year our school had a lock down too. Someone felt they saw a stranger with what looked like a weapon at the edge of school. Turns out it was a homeowner doing some gardening. Whew!

Hey Crash! You were missed - hope things are going ok with Jean! Still saying a prayer for her! :grouphug:

Well, we finally did it. We ordered a new laptop. Our old one is a 2001 model, and while a nice work horse, it's starting to get persnikity.

I get the employee purchase plan discount at a number of manufacturers, and HP put one of the models we've been looking at on sale for 25% off. That clinched it.

Here are the specs - in case anyone is interested:
HP Pavilion dv6700t Special Edition CTO
- Upgrade to Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit)
- Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.50 GHz, 6 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
- 15.4" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
- 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
- Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 - For Core 2 Duo Processors
- HP Imprint Finish (Influx) + Fingerprint Reader + Webcam + Microphone
- FREE Upgrade to Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection!!
- FREE Upgrade to 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive from 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive!!
- FREE Upgrade to LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support!!
- No TV Tuner w/remote control
- 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
- System Recovery DVD with Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit)
- Microsoft(R) Works 9.0 (<-- only cause you can't get it without something)

We should get it in about three weeks.

It's got a fingerprint reader - so don't be trying to use it without permission! :rotfl2:

Sounds like a great notebook - except the video driver is not a stand alone card? Just the same it's a powerful little monster!

Hey Crash! You were missed - hope things are going ok with Jean! Still saying a prayer for her! :grouphug:

Thanks Laura,

I've been sort of busy and in a rut of sorts. Had no time to DIS or wander in the last week or so. The Big Bear thing was really nice. Not a lot of snow immediately at the house we rented - but enuf to throw snowballs. We drove out of town 15 minutes to get sledding conditions - and the skiing last friday was perfect for our daughter - who is a real enthusiast now. Excepting, of course, the morning where they shut down all of the mountain except for 1 lift due to high winds.

Jean is recovering ... and in good spirits. She quipped that she is hoping for another 20 years. We won;t know much for another few weeks ... and thank you kindly for your continued prayers.

Hmm.... curious, I'm not too sure but I think it's been about a week since I've been on line HERE. I guess I HAVE been sort of busy and in a rut. I don't know anymore when I was last on line and visiting here.

oh well....

DS10 is trying to figure out a way for air traffic control towers to send out power for the planes. Who knows, stranger things have been figured out...

Looking for any silent partners? Your DS's got insight.

I'm glad it turned out OK. This is funny! Hope the lifeguard who wasn't clear is the one who had to jump in after him! DS10 tried to drown himself when I was due with with DS6. Someone else pulled him out the the pool, I wasn't moving fast enough. Delivered DS6 that night though.

Scared the bejesus out of the lifeguard. Concepts of proper communication...

Scuba diving with DS, how cool.

We were taking the dogs out for a run yesterday afternoon along the American River. From the back seat (DS6) comes...

How much dirt can a dog dig?

Our answer...

How much dirt can a diggin' dog dig,
If a diggin' dog could dig dirt.
A diggin' dog would dig as much dirt as a diggin' dog could dig,
If a diggin' dog could dig dirt.
Dang dog.

G'mornin' pirate:s

Well, we're having weather. Boys are off school. DH found an excuse to stay home. I'm going to attempt to venture out to work. My whole organization is moving next week and I had plans to pack my office today. Have I mentioned that I hate moving? At least I got a good office in the new location & I have motivation to cull the useless files I inherited when I started.

So I was all ketched up last night...multiquoted and everything. Then the dog ran by and unplugged my laptop & I lost everything. So everyone just imagine that I added a witty comment to whatever you said yesterday!

Congrats on your pirate: Cheryl!

Still trying to figure out if that's a good thing or just scary. :scared1:

Yes.

Hey Roger - M has a friend who can tell you all the best places to get your new pumps!

That was one of my lost comments!

They just need to use a really long extension cord like DCL does to get power out to the Magic.
