(My own mother didn't even ask my opinion and just showed in her "cookie monster blue dress" UGGGG :headache: but then she bought something nice for my sis's wedding and had her hair and makeup done. Am i bitter? yep still hurts)

Fortunately for me...my mom and I are looking for her outfit (not too into wearing dresses) together..we already agree on a nice pant suit and the color..now just finding it!

I actually told her to wear whatever..just not black (her favourite color) or white (which she never would!).

She wanted the bridesmaids to wear gowns..afternoon into evening wedding...I actually said NO! due to it being an August wedding...I don't want my wedding party to hate me! They would melt in the heat!

Chrissie

(and that is what I say at post 1200!!!!:cool1: )

Hey Tom...

Here's my picture. Actually, I'm entering it in a contest here. You can be my first judges.
It's a picture of Black Mountain. The contest is held by the Black Mountain Conservancy & is supposed to be a good shot of the mountain.
What do you think?

Love it! The rainbow is so bright!:goodvibes

Was it Cheryl who had the Mickey themed kitchen? Seems Disney wants to part her from her money

Liz, I would get a cocktail dress. My wedding was at 2 in the afternoon and both moms wore cocktail type dresses. Good luck!

Where did we leave the wristband discussion a thread or two ago?

Oh Stace - I love that picture - kinda like here is the end of the rainbow!!!!

BTW, just caught AI - David Hernandez is from Glendale, AZ. Isn't that where you're from?

The idea of the picture is to show why we feel that the mountain should be preserved. I wish I could "name" the photo...I'd call it "Our Pot of Gold".

Glendale is a suburb of Phoenix not too far from us. It's west of Phoenix and we're north. Jordin Sparks is from Glendale.

OK gave the girls some air time - here's a picture of my Stinky DS - we tease him by saying this is the "only blonde" that will love him at his worst! :rotfl2:

He's all scruffy because I "told" him that he needed to shave and that he'd never connect his beard to his sideburns - which he's desperately trying to show up dad.

All boy! Almost man, actually. Funny about the blonde!! :goodvibes

Ahhhh, yes! The all-too-familiar hunt for mother of the bride dresses. The reason I've spent so many days in the closet.

First off.....the wrath of the bride will be upon you if you wear the cocktail dress. Girls get pretty snarly about their wedding days. Although I agree with you, cocktail is the proper length for an a.m. wedding. There's a reason the other dresses are called "evening" gowns.
I think you're stuck and have to (pretty much) do what she wants.
Mine doesn't want me "clashing" with the mother of the groom. :sad2:

I like the first dress better. Maybe the price has a lot to do with it. But the second one (from Macy's) looks like a nightgown to me.

I also have found that most "mother of the bride" dresses are far too matronly. You might want to look at the bridesmaid dresses at David's.

The Bat Grandma story is one of those where "you had to be there".

I have no idea how it came about, other than seeing my mom chasing the kids through the house (all in fun) with her robe (or just arms) spread up like wings and saying in a low voice "baaaaat graaaaandma"!!!
The kids rolled on the floor with laughter.:rotfl2: Still do.

It's funny to see her do it, because she's barely 5 ft tall and only weighs 95 lbs. Yeah, sad, I had to take after her with my height (or lack thereof) and Dad with my weight.

Told ya, it's one of those "have to be there".

Decisions, decisions, They are both very pretty gowns. Stace is having trouble figuring out to wear for her dd wedding too. You would definetly get more use out of a cocktail dress. I had a 10 am wedding also, and my mom and mil both wore long formals.

LilGrumpy....LOVE the pictures! All your kids are gorgeous, but I love the dark haired oldest. :lovestruc
My Megan was born with, and still has, a full head of dark, dark hair.
Jordan was our blonde...where she had hair...and Jared had the tinge of red to his.
Funny how that goes.

So your little "Ariel" sings? Was that at the talent show on the ship?
Our Jordan danced at the talent show on the last Mexican Riviera DCL we did. She said it's hard to dance on a moving ship and really learned to appreciate what the performers have to do.

Hi all, I've been gone for days so am way behind and have no plans to ketchup so hope I've not missed anything earth shattering.

Anyway, I have a question, how do I go about prepaying our tips? The NZ$ just hit $US0.80 today which is virtually a record high and second time this year so I'm keen to put a bit more towards this trip but no idea how to do it.

Help!

:)

The only thing you can do, is put credit on your stateroom account and then use it onboard to pay the tips.

As of now, I'll be going naked.

Am seriously considering begging Jay to let me have a dress made......

I ordered several dresses online, and the one dress that I really held out the most hope for, got lost at the main post office in Phoenix. Grrrrrrrr.....and they want to raise the price of postage again for their fine service!!!

One of the pitfalls of ordering online. I have 2 dresses I ordered from Coldwater Creek that I can't wait to get back to the store--they were awful looking when I tried them on.

It is a shame that weddings cause this much stress. It is hard when you get this picture in your mind that is perfect---then the search begins to actually find it.

Adam's school has been on lockdown now for about 2 hours. Someone called 911 to say that a student had a gun or appeared to have one. I have been texting him and he said he is OK. They aren't really telling the students what is going on. So I am glued to the TV this morning.

It's tough when they look so good on the 6' tall, rain thin models!!! :rotfl2:

BREAKING NEWS: Fern Creek High and Elementary Schools on Lockdown

Man seen with gun inside High School; no one hurt
Wednesday, February 20, 2008
LOUISVILLE, Ky -- Fern Creek High School and Fern Creek Elementary schools are on lockdown, after a student reported seeing somone with a gun early Wednesday morning. LMPD Chief of Staff Troy Riggs tells 84WHAS that they cannot confirm that yet, but are taking no chances and have locked down both schools as a precaution while officers go room to room searching for a possible suspect. No one has been injured, and Riggs says while he understands parents may be upset, he is urging them to "stand by" and not go to the school.
