There will be a formal signup for those who want to participate, probably won't be everyone. At that time the size issue can be examined. I would guess the sign up would be closer to the 90 day mark (the in or out point)

I guess I somehow missed the option of breaking up the group but I like it. Maybe if we did it could be done by floors; deck 1,2, and 3, and higher decks together or something like that. Would make delivery easier. I cannot find carp worth giving out for 500 people and I do not want to take that much home either. Just a thought.

We went on the 10 night and had about 75 families(which was well over 275 people). Sometimes I would give a gift to the family as a group. It all depends on what you are giving. Most people only gave out their fishy gifts once but seems like everyone did different days so there was always something in there.

Candy works for adults, too!


I just want to put in a word AGAINST breaking up into smaller groups for fish extenders . . . all of us will have some people we just feel closer to and want to give something to, but if they aren't on our "list" or floor, or whatever, it gets awkward . . .

I would rather people just bring less to put in the fish extenders, or smaller things, or even pick up things at one of the ports if transport is a problem. If people sign up for FE, I think they should get something from everyone.

I do really like the idea of getting souvenirs in the ports for the fish extenders though (good excuse to shop more)
I also agree candy for the shows and movies works for adults as well as kids (although I'm not sure I'll be able to look at food items after dinner my kids always seem to find room )

It sounds like a fun idea overall. I'm just worried about what to give and how big the group will be. I'm on the lookout for ideas though

I just read through 35 pages in about an hour, so it was more like skimming but I think I did okay. I was at the 25-page mark when I realized that there was another thread I had to go through.

I am very happy to hear that there is a Pirate thread for all of our DD's and DS's. I will show my DD when she comes in from the snow. It may be a challenge getting my DS involved, but maybe he will surprise me??

I am always envious when I hear about all of the sales in the US. I want to save over $800.

There has been a lot of excitement on my street this week (not in a good way). I am not sure if this has received a lot of attention south of the boarder, but "DR HORROR" is/was my neighbour. Actually his house is right across the street from mine. His family moved in last April. We have had a media frenzy here for the past week. I am so happy that they finally caught him. He was the ringleader responsible for forcibly removing kidneys from at least 500 people. He would then transplant them in wealthy foreign patients. Most of this was done in India, but it sounds like he was starting to get patients here. I only spoke with him once. I went over to introduce myself, but he was not very friendly. Thankfully the rest of my neighbours are very nice!

I did hear about this . . . all I can say is, wow. I think "Dr. Horror is/was my neighbor" pretty much wins you the bad week prize here (after many strong competitors).

Probably answered already, but.......


Not everyone who is part of our group actually participates in the fish extenders. We'll have a sign up closer to sail time. Those who want to play (not required at all) bring a small little gift for each fish extender (FE). Doesn't have to be per person in the cabin, just per FE. People have gotten very creative, especially on the repos where we are already dealing with luggage restrictions.

On the Med repo some of the stuff I recieved were:
Personalized post its with our Med logo
Map of our cruise magnet
Candy (lots of regional candies - i.e. Cadbury chocolate from England, Jelly Belly's from CA)
Stickers
Postcards from folks hometown
Mini beach balls
Temporary Tattoos
Bookmarks
Disney pencils
Emergency cruise travel kit (included clothespins, bandaids, rubber bands - the kind of stuff you end up needing but forgot to bring)

MMM chocolate and jelly beans
Can't have too much of those

I'm sure I can manage one gift per FE

That's scary. Glad they caught him. I hadn't heard anything about him in particular but I do hear about the black market organ transplant business. Makes me think twice about any kind of surgery.

Are the boards moving slow for anyone else? Not slow like before, but slower than we've seen recently.

Could just be my connection though. Completely lost the internet yesterday, right in the middle of the work day. Came back after a few hours. But I'm thinking maybe they are still having trouble.

I left on Wednesday am to page 211 on #2 and came back to page 10 on #3. Thanks for the link left on the other thread. I will try to ketchup later to see if there is anything important I missed?

Moms operation took around an hour and she was already in recovery and out the door 2 hours later !!!! They gave her a block from the shoulder down and she was talking to the Dr during the procedure.They even gave her the xray showing the plate and all the screws in there. She only popped a few painkillers and is doing most of her daily stuff herself. Her friends are terrific and cook and do her errands for her so I know she is in good hands. What impressed me was the surgeon personally called her the next day to see how she was doing.

I listened to the past podcasts on the drive and time just flew by. Still haven't totally caught up yet but halfway thru this weeks.

Tom I love the front page. When I get thru this mail piled on my desk I'll try to sort it out. See y'all later......

I did just get back from JC Penney. They were short on sales people so the lines were bad. Some of the mark downs were really great though

DD Kelly drove me nuts. Gone are the days where I could pick out clothes for her. Luckily her taste in clothes is reasonable close to mine She just takes FOREVER to try on clothes while I stand in the hallway

DS Andrew is so easy- he'll wear whatever I buy

Also got my DH his Valentine's gift
He is a watch fanatic and I was able to get a Casio sport watch that he wanted. Now I just have to find a card and I'm set

The kids thread is an excellent idea, I started one for the 2005 repo, and my kids found Friends quickly on the cruise. Now is a good time to start it.
