My sister and I were just talking about the formal night clothing today. I am very thick around the middle, so I don't look good in too many dresses. My sister really doesn't ever wear dresses. So I am going to probably wear this pair of half pant/half skirt thing I have (elastic waist is always good!) with a fancy blouse or vest. My sister has a very fancy pair of black pants that she will probably wear. My sister is one of those people who can look elegant in jeans!

One word sister- Spanx!
You might not be able to breathe but you will look good. I own lots of Spanx.

Went to Penney's. Kind of a bust for me, I didn't find anything, but DD got 3 pair of shoes, and a bag full of tops. None were on the big sale, but still got out of there spending less than $100.

Went to Dillard's and I tried on some "cruise" dresses. I give up. Everything looks like carp on me. Either I skip formal and semi-formal nights, or wear a sack.

Me too. I got a dress this summer, but it may not fit by August. I went shopping today and didn't find anything...for me. Ended up with a down comforter and new pillows. I still have a credit from Macy's that I haven't used. I may check them out tomorrow to see if they have anything on sale. I may save it for a new bathing suit when they come out in a few months.

I see we are on part 3 already. Missed chat last night. Went to a bowling fund raiser for the 8th grade class trip. It turned out to be fun, but it started at 9 pm and we finished up our last game at 12:45! Way past my bedtime. Bowled decent. 106-156-126. That was with out a beer! Didn't dare have one after dd made such a fuss. DD announced to the lunch room at school that neighbor and I were going to get drunk!

I did drink diet Pepsi!

We just got in from the Daddy & Daughter dance... I'll edit some pictures in - in a few minutes - and we got one of her school mates to accept with going to Disneyland tomorrow. Hopefully we'll not get a last minute reversal again.

And Tina, like you ... I too missed friday nite chat. We had the regular gymnastics - but then I went and mentioned how Cheryl found a JC Penny sale where things were really marked down 95-98%... and my spouse flashed me those pretty eyes she always flashes me and asked if we could swing by JCP after gymnastics to "glance". How could I resist, eh?

... and, Say Tina... if ya still hangin' out here tonite - let me know. We can do the grand unveiling of Secret Mickey/Minnie/Santas if ya like ... or we can diplomaticly allow another week for folks to catch up and ship things if they've not shipped yet? I don't mind either way. I'm eternally the happy go lucky sort.

I know what you mean about the dresses! I have an awful time with them too.

Alicia bought some ski gloves with a hat ... some Belle and Cinderella Christmas Ornaments, and some other stuff which I cannot recall now. Some of it was in a big box - and all I really know is she spent under TWENTY BUCKS. Amazing.

How does the Fish Extender thing work
The number of DIS people on this cruise is making me think twice about signing up
(How long would it take to distribute something to everyone let along the luggage space needed to transport stuff )

I thought someone said something about breaking it up into smaller groups
That would make it much easier

This is really a fun aspect of the DIS community. Let me illustrate a little without spoiling anything. Here are a few doors with thier door decorating and the FISH EXTENDERS hanging off the "fish".

We went on the 10 night and had about 75 families(which was well over 275 people). Sometimes I would give a gift to the family as a group. It all depends on what you are giving. Most people only gave out their fishy gifts once but seems like everyone did different days so there was always something in there.

Our first exerience with this was really very pleasant. I don't want to really say anything too specific - except to say this aspect of joiining in thre community is not to be missed. I spent HOURS walking the decks late at nite with DIS friends passing out our FISH gifts. SO yeah... on the other hand I frankly shudder at the thought of hauling enuf fer every cabin of DIS friends on the sailing.... if they ALL had fish extenders that is.

Darn - My DD was all excited about posting to the childrens thread. We created an ID for her, but because she is under 13 they will not let her post until I fax in a confirmation. I guess we will need to wait until Monday when I can fax it from work. Did I do the right thing? did anyone else use their b-date instead of their childs?

I had no idea. My son is 12 so I guess we'll be in the same boat. Haven't registered him yet because he's still trying to figure out the perfect ID. Hmmm.....what to do???

OMG!!!!!

We went to the PO last Saturday (2/2) to apply for our passports...

Well DD went out to the mailbox and just came in and says, "Mom,i think we got our passports."

OMG we did get them....

I guess somewhere there's alot of government employees with nothing to do this time of year.

HOLY CARP PASSPORTS IN A WEEK!!!!!

PS i don't even think the checks have cleared my bank yet.....
