There are several restaurant choices around the Double Tree. Ports O'Call Village is very close where you can dine on the water (Acapulco-Mexican food, Crusty Crab, Ports O'Call, and San Pedro Fish Market). Unfortunately there are no ships sailing that day.

Now I'M the groundhog!!! :rotfl2:

We just sent in our request to Los Veranos for the zip line!

Linda has a fear of heights, so I didn't push the issue. Turns out that she is more excited about doing the zip line than I am. I think she wants to face her fears and that this will be a great way to do it. I'm still a little worried about DS8 chickening out, but he seems really excited about it too.

We hope that we'll be on the 1:00 tour, but I don't know how full they are and how many people they accept. So we put 2:00 as our alternate time. If they put us on that one, maybe we'll still see some of you pirates if you're still at the bar/waterpark area after your tour. I'll let you know how we make out.

Hope you get into the 1:00 pm, Mike. Did you tell them you were with the DCL group?

So it sounds a bit more encouraging, but if it did happen it would be ultimately up to the kids & DS said no way would we cancel the cruise, I'd rather miss a few days & DD just shrugged so I take that as her typical ST response of "I don't care!" So although it would be difficult, we're going!!!

:scared1:

yea

Thanks for the groundhog update! Is it just me or is it a bizzare ritual???

DIANE: I will keep finger/toes crossed for you too!!!!

For my friends who have been to DL area numerous times (or live near)...What restaurants are nearby or is there a website to look at to find some? I have been googling and have found not much...For Brendan's bday I thought I would get some gift certificates to places to dine while in California...(he is real tough to buy for)

Chrissie

Hope you get into the 1:00 pm, Mike. Did you tell them you were with the DCL group?

I put a note in the little comment box that we were with a large group from DCL and would really love to be able to go with everybody at 1:00 if at all possible. I would really like to do that because, like Enna said, I know a bunch of pirate kids will be there and can give each other some support to go through with it. If not, then it's my fault for waiting so long, but at least we should still be able to get in for 2:00. I'll be sure to post when I hear back from them.

Mike, didn't know who your email is with, but they told me they had trouble with comcast accounts. That's why I never heard back. Aby ended up using her personal email to contact me.

Fingers crossed

Rugby on Castaway Cay

So far here's who we have

Definate:

Peter XL
Jack XXL
Justine (Jacks wife) M
Nastassja (Jacks daughter) M
Paul XL
Celestine S
Adam XXL
M S
Steve L
Coral L

Need to confirm:

Andy R.
Miztigg
Jeff
Jennifer
Nicholas

We need a total of 14 players. All are welcomed, no prior knowledge (of the game) needed. Social game, co-ed, no tackling, on the family beach, please PM me and confirm with shirt size. Drinks on me after the game.

Peter

As always tough to keep up--even with a new thread. Definitely count me in--XXL even if I "downsize" before!!! Somewhere in the deep recesses of brain cells killed or damaged by beer and snuff is my knowledge from when I played in college--just hoping it comes back!! The one parallel between then and now is that the games back then seem to have been as much (if not more) about getting to the keg or party afterward as they were playing the game.

Hope everyone is doing well. We still haven't finalized the flight out but got the return flight booked yesterday. Just one more step to being ready.

Nicholas.

Thanks Lisa.

I use yahoo since it will come with me if I switch providers. Hopefully they will get it and there will be room for us.

Posting Summary 20001 - 21000:

- Favorite Disney movies.
- Blah, blah, blah cookies!!!
- Blah, blah, blah how to get enough liquor on the ship for the secret deck 7 party.
- Tons of snow all over the place.
- Will the LA port let us take drinks onboard?
- More snow in the morning with lots of schools closed.
- Join the snowed in bunch for morning chat.
- Recommended reading for the cruise: "Panama Canal by Cruise Ship", written by Anne Vipond
- Blah, blah, blah Sweet Innocent Andy shows everyone his dirty side.
- Valentine's Day is celebrated by telling how we got engaged.
- Captaincrash finally fluffed a pirate with #21000.
- Score: Wenches 14 Jack 3 Swabbies 4

Now you are confusing me....

The posted port times are "local" time (whatever time zone PV is in) and the zip line times are local time, so there should be no issue. If the ship gets in at 9:?? and the meeting time is 11:30 for yours, you have 2 - 2 1/2 hours....

Tom, it says on the website I booked on, and all over cruise critic, that the ships are almost always still on Mountain time, and PV is on Central . . . perhaps we can call DCL and see if that is in fact true.

Love the old post recaps. Just got my copy of "Panama Canal by Cruise Ship" yesterday. I'm only a year or so behind the times!

Also picked up the Liar's Guide to Disneyland. While there's pretty much no useful info in it, it looks like it's going to be a pretty funny read and an antidote to my obsessive planning.

Chrissie I live the other way from DL (north) but South Coast Plaza and Newport Beach are not that far away to the South. There aren't very many nice restaurants other than the resort ones that are considered "Fine Dining" Maybe some of our Orange County cruisers will chime in on their favorites. South Coast Plaza is a very high-end mall in Orange county. Here is a list of restaurants around the area.

I can only comment on Chanteclair which was one of my uncles favorite restaurants.

Thanks Roger!

I am looking for any restaurant really...I know a Cheesecake Factory is/will be opening in that area...we won't have a car....Brendan mentioned a Tony Roma's? Any good? Anyone ever been?

Chrissie

No we have no room number yet either and paid in full months ago.
Bren

No worries, most GTY have not gotten a room number yet. The question was supposed to be a joke:goodvibes

I am hoping that I am okay with my Cabo tour time??? If the Disney Site shows that we are arriving in Cabo at 9am do you think that I am safe if my tour group is meeting at 10am? It sounds like the meeting place is very close to the boat. Do you think that both Disney and the tour company are using Cabo local time? Is anyone else doing the Wild Canyon Ekopark Cabo Canopy Monster Zip? It sounds great because they are one of the few tours that have cruise ship pickup.

I haven't read of any trouble with Cabo time being different from the ship -- just PV. And maybe DCL is different from the other lines and will be on local time . . . although that would mean that they put me on a very late zipline time compared to what I asked for!

For all you Rugby supporters and "players" out there - and I know you exist;)

Final result today..........................................

England 19 - Wales 26

David

Congrats!!! I think I did hear you cheer all the way over here!

He made two "silencers" for a gun. :sad2: Apparently, it's not illegal to own one, use one, or buy one...but it IS illegal to MAKE one without a permit.
Who knew?? :confused3 But his teacher told him he could do it, so as far as we're concerned, she's the responsible party. If anyone's going to jail (but no one is) it would be her.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks Roger!

I would then suggest Napa Rose (GCH), Steakhouse 55 (DLH) and the many choices at DTD.

We use to have a Tony Roma's near by 10 or so years ago and it is a good rib place. We have better ones around town but you get a consistently good meal from Tony Roma's.

I had to run into work to get Wednesday off as it is the day she is having her operation. I was able to do it in 2 increments. the last of my personal and floating holiday. So now I don't have to worry about calling in sick and getting in trouble. So I am going to head back to the house. I havene't heard from Cheryl. Maybe I'll give her a call on the way home;)

Wow Stace, I was wondering what he could've made. I hope it is the end of your troubles. Hope your foot is getting better.

Sorry for any groundhogs....

Thanks to everyone who posted about the currency issue. I'll have US$ & I'm going to get some Mexican peso too.

Has taken eons to catch up after 2 days away from the boards as DH had tge PC Thursday night at his photo course & last night we went to the school quiz night. We came a respectable 6th.

We are celebrating pancake day tomorrow rather than Tuesday as yet again I'm going away - this time to Liverpool, so please not too much chin wagging!!! That is just about forgiveable, but I'm also away for Valentine's day - residential training venue just outside Lincoln - now you know why I have to get a Palo brunch ressie:rotfl2:

I'm the only one in our household that hasn't been struck down by the lurgi as the other 3 are coughing & spluttering, so I guess it is only a matter of time....

Anyway, off for a long soak in the tub as I've just finished some work & want to relax. Enjoy the rest of your week-end
