We are also in the middle of getting an IEP in place which will take him out of this school, that may be why they are letting him slip by.

Hello Monica, I am not in the exact situation that you are in because my son is much yonger, but I am also in the midde of getting an IEP for my DS8. The school gave me a copy of his IEP over a week ago and I must sign it by Feb 6th. He goes to an after school tutoring company, so I am getting them to review it too. Anyways, I just want to let you know that I can sort of relate to what you are going through.

5520 will be a great room -- I had 5020 on the Med cruise and 5528 on the Med repo . . .:thumbsup2

All 6 SPH cabins are taken by DIS'ers on our 10/24/09 cruise........;)

They were all taken within the first few minutes after the booking date opened......:lmao:

It may be too late, but I am glad that you will be with us.:cool1:

Well I will certainly feel better with fellow cruise members on the tour. Our time in Cabo is somewhat tight and I would love to meet up with the tour members before we leave the ship in Cabo San Lucas if possible.

There are several restaurant choices around the Double Tree. Ports O'Call Village is very close where you can dine on the water (Acapulco-Mexican food, Crusty Crab, Ports O'Call, and San Pedro Fish Market). Unfortunately there are no ships sailing that day.
Roger- any within walking distance or do we need a cab?

We're driving over from Phoenix in a van large enough for 5 women and their luggage...but I'm not sure when we'll return it...before dinner or after.
I'd planned on going to the Ports Of Call Village...it's pretty there. And I think (not 100% sure) we can get transportation from the hotel to it.
The hotel site says "free local transporation" so I imagine it would be a matter of getting the van and a driver. Wonder if there is a local liquor store?

It seemed to me that we changed our clocks more on the Mexican Riviera than we ever do in the Caribbean. It felt like we did it every other day.

Every time we chaneg time zones I am going to track down O'hana Family since he is the only one that knows how to adjust my watch. I love DIS Meets around Daylight Savings Time.

Hope you get into the 1:00 pm, Mike. Did you tell them you were with the DCL group?

I told them I was with Rogers DCL Group.

My TA had contacted the Doubletree and they told her that we needed at least 10 rooms to qualify for a group discount. I know the Moms and I have 2 rooms.

There are a couple of liquor stores in that area, just don't know if the "free local transportation" would take us there. Maybe a little tip would work....

I really loved 5020 . . . the location was quiet and it wasn't a connecting room . . . and the obstruction was really minimal. Yours should be in the same location on the other side, right?

I'm remembering better now -- I was supposed to have 5524 on the Med repo but found out at checkin that I had been moved to 5518, non-obstructed. It was a good room too.

oh man, lunches? Thank God for you guys keeping me on the ball. I think I'll let them buy lunch. But, we'll need snacks.

that's my plan, buy a school lunch, but gotta leave some money out with the clothes and backpacks, that way I won't spend it on TOAL

That would be great then we can all try to be on the same tender. I hope they go back to our original times there (8am-6pm) and Acapulco(6:30am-6:15 pm):)

OMG I just noticed that this is my 400th post........:cool1: This is truly an addiction.............
Congrats on post 400!

Hi, Chrissie
There are quite a few nice restaurants at Downtown Disney, or there is the vineyard one in DCA, Napa Rose in the Grand Californian or the Blue Bayou right in DL.

Here's a link to a website that a friend puts together on the yahoo group I'm on - don't know how up to date it is as I haven't been on the site for awhile.
- but it might help you a bit.
Thanks I am going to check it out!

Just turn your cell phone on for a minute it will tell you the right time (I think :lmao: )

Correct.......;)

Tom, it says on the website I booked on, and all over cruise critic, that the ships are almost always still on Mountain time, and PV is on Central . . . perhaps we can call DCL and see if that is in fact true.

Andy, I've got 5520 on the Podcast cruise :woohoo:

Tracy, I know the Podcast Cruise is on the Wonder, but you can still tell me what you think of 5520 since the Podcast Cruise is before our cruise in 2009. ;)

Thanks for the groundhog update! Is it just me or is it a bizzare ritual???

DIANE: I will keep finger/toes crossed for you too!!!!

For my friends who have been to DL area numerous times (or live near)...What restaurants are nearby or is there a website to look at to find some? I have been googling and have found not much...For Brendan's bday I thought I would get some gift certificates to places to dine while in California...(he is real tough to buy for)

Chrissie

In the park or out?

The Blue Bayou inside the pirates ride can't be beat for ambiance. Napa Rose at the Grand Californian is also nice for a special occaision. In Downtown Disney you've got ESPN Zone (a must do if he's a sports fan), House of Blues, Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, Tortilla Jo's....all very good in my opinion.

As for what's nearby, there's plenty of chains, Mimi's Cafe, Outback, Red Robin, Buca di Bepoo, Joe's Crab Shack, Morton's Steakhouse, The White House (you can get a cheap gift certificate on restaurant.com). There's also a Mideval Times and a pirate dinner show nearby.

Love the old post recaps. Just got my copy of "Panama Canal by Cruise Ship" yesterday. I'm only a year or so behind the times!

Also picked up the Liar's Guide to Disneyland. While there's pretty much no useful info in it, it looks like it's going to be a pretty funny read and an antidote to my obsessive planning.

I'm going to have to dig up my Liar's Guide. I actually got an advanced copy. Someone on the DIS knew (or was) the author and was searching for people to review the book. I recieved it, then never even opened it. Shame on me.

Thanks Roger!

I am looking for any restaurant really...I know a Cheesecake Factory is/will be opening in that area...we won't have a car....Brendan mentioned a Tony Roma's? Any good? Anyone ever been?

Chrissie

In my list I previously gave, I forgot about Tony Romas. It's been about 20 years since I've eaten at this one, but it doesn't really get many good reviews, at least from what I've seen on the DL boards.

By the way, the others I've listed are not walking distance, but a short cab ride away. Or you could even get there on the ART (Ananheim Resort Transportation) since there are hotel stops right near all the restaurants. The only one I'm not sure of is The White House.
