I may say I wear my hair down I wear a veil..(she wants the veil..me not so much!)
Chrissie

Chrissie....my job in college was at a bridal shop. I worked there for 3 years. It was great fun getting to work with the brides and putting their gown, headpiece, shoes, and bridal party gowns all together. LOVED your headpiece!

But if you are not crazy about a veil, I would suggest just wearing one for the ceremony, and detaching it for the reception. I worked with lots of brides that didn't think they wanted one either, but in the end felt it finished the "look" and were happier with their pictures of the ceremony. The reception will be much more relaxed, so you'll want that thing off of your head so you can get your groove on!

But, of course....whatever you choose for yourself will the best!

Chrissie, I had the veil and guess what? When I started to walk down the aisle, it tended to press against my face. Anyone else have this problem? They even tried to pouf it at the last moment . The veil, also wasn't my idea. I would have preferred the tiara and the veil trailing behind. Actually, we really wanted an outside wedding but were afraid of the weather. It did rain briefly that afternoon so it was a good idea to be inside.

Okay, the veil over your face is called a blusher veil. The veil in back is just your veil. If a bride does a blusher, you have to get one that is constructed with "pleats" all around the top so that it has some structure to it. That way it will stand away from your face, and not press against you when you walk. I did a blusher for my walk down the isle, and my dad removed it before he kissed me and handed me off to dh. It was something that I wanted because I'm a traditionalist at heart!

This week has been very hard to keep up around here. I ended up skipping a lot. Happy Birthday/Anniversary to anyone I missed. Pixie dust to anyone who needs it.

Not very good. Almost went back to the group home this weekend. He's staying with his uncle instead.

I hope things improve Monica. I can only imagine how hard this must be on you.

Currently 37°F (4°C) here on the east coast of the UK. As it's just gone mid-day, we'll be lucky if it goes anywhere else:mad:

Enjoy the heat and the parks (we had snow yesterday).

My son gets along better with his uncles than he does with us. Something about there being less pressure or something, I don't really know why.

Hang in there:hug:

We're pulling for you. Feel like we "know" him from the video of him getting his Wii. What a cool kid he is:goodvibes

Here the kids do band camp the week before school starts and it is mandatory they attend. They learn the marching patterns etc. If a child were to miss it they would not be in band. She won't take nay excuses at all......
Pretty busy here. If I get a chance will try to join Chat.....

Yeah, that's what I figured:guilty:

I guess I'm hoping they'll be short on clarinets and need him:confused3
Probably better if he waits until 10th grade anyway.

Prayers to you and your son, Monica!

Mine says 11:30 too -- even though I know I originally booked 11 -- I just checked my receipt and it says 11:30 . . .

I sent an e-mail to the company, and they contacted me right away! Here is the response:
Hi Linda! You're booked for the 12:00 pm canopy tour but you're requested to be at the canopy office in downtown Puerto Vallarta 30 minutes before your tour to check in and wait for the canopy transportation to come by & pick you up to take you to the canopy site. This is why your ticket shows a meeting time of 11:30 am, so please be one of the first ones off your cruise ship and follow the instructions on your e-ticket to report to the canopy office by 11:30 am, local Puerto Vallarta time. Hope this information is helpful and if you have any other question, please don't hesitate to contact us toll-free at 1 866 217 9704.

Have a lovely day!
Karla

So it sounds like we will be on the same tour!

Seems im informal all the time ...Ill fit right in :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

Todd, how could you not fit in with this group?pirate:

You forgot the part about my son and I both having staph infections and the kid getting his science project confiscated by the Scottsdale Police Department and his Dad being threatened with 25 years for the federal offense of letting him build said science project.
Nah...no stress....

OK -- please explain what he did for a science project!!!!!

Yes, we are on the same one --

I think the thing that is throwing us off is the idea that PV time may be different from ship time -- all of us doing non ship excursions in PV are going to to have to confirm this closer to time.

Did anyone get a room number yet?

Happy Groundhog Day!

The ship will be on local time, it will adjust by an hour out of LA, before Cabo. (Last time it was forward one hour on LA Night before the sea day).

We never go back before Labor Day here unless Labor is really late so I thought I was completely safe booking this cruise until my neighbor told me about this article in our local paper! Now I don't know what to do since my DD is starting highschool & DS is starting middleschool! :sad1:

Wow, what a pain:scared:
Maybe they'll change their minds if enough parents complain:confused3

The "Escaping Moms" and I are at the Doubletree....and a few others I think. A meeting ahead of time would be GREAT!!
:cool1: Awesome:goodvibes
We'll plan something as we get closer and more people have their plans set. We were hoping to get away without renting a car, but if it looks like we'll need one we can adjust:cool2:

We will only miss 2 days of school and my dd will miss "meet the teacher" day. I know she won't have much work to make up, if any. My ds will be starting 8th grade, so he will surely have some to make up.

That is a great tip about having the backpacks ready to go and clothes all laid out before we leave. I'll also have to make sure I have something to pack for lunches that can't spoil while we're gone. Oh, and I wonder if I can pay my school fees before we go?

Lunchables:confused3

Now that you mention it, my veil was detachable and I only wore it for the ceremony. I remember it was an extra $50 at the time just to please my MiL.

My Dad did get very emotional when he lifted the blusher and kissed me:lovestruc
The only reason I remember is because we have a video:lmao: Boy, the day goes by in a blurr. One of the best pieces of advice I got was from one of Darren's cousins who told me to take mental "pictures" during the day or I wouldn't remember anything.

OK -- please explain what he did for a science project!!!!!

Yeah, I'm curious too. Must have been good to get him into trouble. A college student back many years ago got in trouble for writing a paper on how to make a nuclear bomb:eek:

The ship will be on local time, it will adjust by an hour out of LA, before Cabo. (Last time it was forward one hour on LA Night before the sea day).

That would put us on mountain time -- PV is on Central time -- I think that is the issue. . .

I am a traditionalist as well. But the veil seems like mosquito netting! :rotfl2: I am thinking of using it as my bargaining chip.....maybe it will work!

Chat was quite fun last night! Man we are all crazy! That ship (and DL) are in trouble when we take over...I mean arrive!

MONICA: Hang in there!

Hey anyone get a room assigmnemt? LOL:lmao:
