Did I tell you that we're swapping Jordan for Jay for the March trip? Jay doesn't want to take the extra time away from work, since we'll be gone so long in June.
So it will be me, Jared and Jordan. No boyfriends this time....he won't be finished at the police academy by then.
Hmmm..maybe he can keep Jay out of jail!

That would put us on mountain time -- PV is on Central time -- I think that is the issue. . .

Now you are confusing me....

The posted port times are "local" time (whatever time zone PV is in) and the zip line times are local time, so there should be no issue. If the ship gets in at 9:?? and the meeting time is 11:30 for yours, you have 2 - 2 1/2 hours....

Okay, the veil over your face is called a blusher veil. The veil in back is just your veil. If a bride does a blusher, you have to get one that is constructed with "pleats" all around the top so that it has some structure to it. That way it will stand away from your face, and not press against you when you walk. I did a blusher for my walk down the isle, and my dad removed it before he kissed me and handed me off to dh. It was something that I wanted because I'm a traditionalist at heart!

I wore a blusher too. My MOH removed it when I handed her my flowers ,before our vows.

We never go back before Labor Day here unless Labor is really late so I thought I was completely safe booking this cruise until my neighbor told me about this article in our local paper! Now I don't know what to do since my DD is starting highschool & DS is starting middleschool!

Diane, I really hope that they just choose to go back after Labor Day so that it isn't an issue. If they do start earlier, it sounds like they would only miss the first two days of school. I know that's not ideal, but they probably won't miss too much since it's 2 days of class followed by a 4 day weekend.

I know the feeling though. We were booked in 2005 and I thought we would be OK because my school used to start after Labor Day too. I double checked after we booked, and found out that it started the Monday before. I would have missed the entire first week of classes, including the mandatory orientation, so we had to cancel, and I felt terrible about it.

I hope everything works out for you. Looking forward to meeting you and the family; and Linda and I will still be buying you a thesis drink. (Provided you get it finished before the cruise! )

We just sent in our request to Los Veranos for the zip line!


Linda has a fear of heights, so I didn't push the issue. Turns out that she is more excited about doing the zip line than I am. I think she wants to face her fears and that this will be a great way to do it. I'm still a little worried about DS8 chickening out, but he seems really excited about it too.

We hope that we'll be on the 1:00 tour, but I don't know how full they are and how many people they accept. So we put 2:00 as our alternate time. If they put us on that one, maybe we'll still see some of you pirates if you're still at the bar/waterpark area after your tour. I'll let you know how we make out.

Let's see....my son has attended school exactly 1 1/2 days since Dec 12. No trauncy notice, no phone calls (except the daily annoying recorded..your child has missed periods 1, 2, 5 - they never get it right), no letters, nothing. Of course his counselor does know of the situation, but I have not provided any notes or doctors excuses.

So if I take him out for 4 or 5 days next year for TOAL, I highly doubt they will say or do anything.

WOW, that is crazy. Usually in our district if a child is out for medical reasons and is homebound, they would send a teacher to the home. Maybe there is a time constraint - you should contact your pucblic school and ask them about it.

Congrat's on being paid in full, the $ rate has helped, I am trying to pay off the 2009 cruise month by month at the moment whilst the rate is good.

Good luck on the room, I think most GTY's will be assigned after 90 days. when there will be some drop outs.

I had a snow day today. The schools are closed which is very rare. Usually they just cancel the buses. Since my kids are home, I am stuck at home too. I am not looking forward to shovelling the driveway, but I think that I better get out there now. Hopefully one of my neighbours with a snow blower sees me and they come over to help

I have an awesome neighbor with a snowblower. I usually do my driveway and he'll do the 3 FT snowbank, that weighs 50LBS per shovel full, that the plows dump at the end of my driveway. Well worth a bottle of wine or two!!

man, I severely underpaid my taxes in '07. I spent all day Monday reeling.

Sorry Sue, I remembered half way through that you were down there, but I really took a lot of time to rest. While I was packing for this trip (the night before) I was saying to myself, "what the heck was I thinking" I think my family needed this getaway much more than I did.

We are going to be at the Doubletree on the 16th. Our flight gets in around 2 and we have no plans for the day so could easy meet up for a meet.

We also are on the 1:00 PV Zipline.

We are also booked for DoubleTree on the 16th. DH couldn't get the extra week of before the cruise so I am picking him up at Long Beach at 10:30 and heading on over there. Would love to meet up with everyone that night.

Are they really strict about vacations during school time

Ours here are pretty understanding.

For some reason attendance is tied into our district's AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) report. Since these reports are used to judge each school they get pretty uptight about taking time off for vacations.

THis is our schedule also. Julia will miss three days. The good thing is she will have the same team of teachers next year and they are a great bunch. They will aloww to stay after school to catch up, at least that is what she did for last week.

The "Escaping Moms" and I are at the Doubletree....and a few others I think. A meeting ahead of time would be GREAT!!
