Happy One Year Booking Anniversary!!!

That was one crazy day, but I loved the excitement! Probably because I also lucked out & got my reservation on-line within 10-15mins. with my favorite room. It was slooooow going & I thought it would crash but it went through.

At first I was upset that I hadn't booked a dummy reservation onboard the previous August, but in the end I was glad I could just make my own reservation. Going by what I found out later it looked like I might've broke even without the discount & onboard credit.

I was going to have DU booked my reservation for me, but I changed my mind because I knew I was not anywhere near the top of their list for bookings so I sent them an email to not book one that I would do it myself & transfer it later. I was so glad I did, because I not only saved myself some money, but I saved myself the stress of waiting for hours to get the final quote. I would definitely do it that way again if it ever gets that crazy again. I.e. maiden voyage on new ships?

I did the same thing - called my TA the afternoon before & said I would do it myself. Can you say "control freak"??? I don't think I could have handled the wait!

That was what I should of done but didn't and ended up sitting here for hours in a state of panic. Next time I'll be doing it myself and then transferring it over to the TA.

SW airfares out of Albany aren't any better than what I booked on Delta months ago - glad that I didn't wait.

I ended up SW out, Airtran home. All total, not the best I have done, but not bad... about $265 per person total.

Where do I go to see the Disney Dresses? They are beautiful! Unfortunately I do not have the upper half to support the Jasmine or the Ariel, but I would love to see the other dresses.

My thoughts exactly M..... Times weren't the best either. I have no urge to spend 7.5 hours in flights with connections to boot...

After discussion with DH..... We pulled the trigger and ............................

Are flying out on the 14th from Dulles for $169 each on Jet Blue.

It's only like $30 per person more than SW but we get satellite and tv and FOOD and assigned seats and the best part A NON STOP FLIGHT. That last part alone is worth the $30....

Oh look, the nice folks from PETA are in my office lobby.

Wow. Good day to you all and Happy 1 Year Booking Anniversary. I can't believe we're at that point and the frenzy continues. I have friends checking everyday to get on this cruise. I know something will open up, if not now, when payments become due. I can't wait to meet you all. ...how soon can we start packing?

i just had to "pipe in"...so, its been a year. since my lil'miss pulled

her dirty lil'trick..it was the first time she had me "helping" her....

with any of our cruises. wow..i never knew..4 hrs..could be so

long...i ended up..takin 4-5 naps....and never did get thru. so i

* there were no "rooms"..@ the inn. there wasn't even the mop &
bucket....closet. everything, came down...to our "true & trusted"

out til near mid~night. . after all, who ever heard of a cruise

as for the final score...ha!....very misleading..the rose bowl, was decided
on 2 plays...& the one call..that went usc's way....sure made..being
the home team [usc]...a big advantage. funnny?!...they keep ignoring
this factor...effecting major bowl games.

...i think...to show the "home field advantages"...& their effects...all
one has to do is to "reviewed" a neutral game...let's see? pitt vs
west virgina....very, very prognostic. now if usc was playing the rose
bowl...@ ill., my guess..that wouldn't fumble..the tying score...in
the third quarter....wonder?..what would happpened next?

..enogh..football, eh?....the 11-nighter was our longest cruise to date.
it had its 's moments..we did this train ride...& there were a
mother & daughter....the mother, in her 80's was just a hoot! [ no!
swabbies..i did not say..hooters!..pay attention!~ oh, its easy reading
the swabbies..mindset.."naked rigby & all- ], any hoot, hers,
....she was such a blast..pointing out pics..i should be takin'...sorta like
cpt. crash..older version. intersting cruise.."the family beach"..was
near empty...while the adult's was "croweded-including the lunch line.

...strange...@ the farewell party...poor cindy..she was "by herself"..
not a kid around..i felt so, ...that i "hop" up to her..to
take a few "pics"...

Tina, It sure doesn't look like a snow storm does it? it is as clear as a spring day out there. I do hope we have a day off of school.

It was so nice a couple of hours ago, the sun shinning and all. I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop! I really don't wait to take any time off, trying to save for our trips this year. Right now I've got 50 hrs of vacation and 41 hours sick time. I accumulate 14 hrs a month of vacation time. If dd has off I could always bring her to work, and switch on the 4x4 on my Jeep!

My story.....

I was going to ignore the repo's totally...then due to post-cruise depression (we cruised dec 06) i got sucked into the boards again and then i wanted to do the WB because we weren't going to bring DD.

Caroline (pyramid2000) talked me into going on the eb with them.

And of course by this point, the EB thread was definately more lively... (and had a Capt )

SO i decided to do EB. Now how did i get a room? By that point, du had stopped taking requests for quotes and i panicked because i couldn't call from work and couldn't call off sick....

A former EB cruiser (she's no longer going) told me her TA was still accepting quotes she thought so i decided to see if we could add our request.

The TA pm'd me and said she could add us to her list.
I was only hoping for an 11 or a cat 10 on upper floors. (i like the upper decks better or rather my tummy likes the upper deck. Don't ask i got sicker on the lower floors.)

I almost freaked about this time last year when i found out are room assignment and Holy carp we got a SPH. It was the same room we had just had the month before too. BONUS.... DH was easily talked into going at that point....

Resistance is futile.... (i have to work..i'll let crash add the images)

I really don't wait to take any time off, trying to save for our trips this year. Right now I've got 50 hrs of vacation and 41 hours sick time. I accumulate 14 hrs a month of vacation time.

To date i have 45.66 hours personal ...(can't use my sick for this)

i only accumulate a lowly 6.5 each month... so need every second...

and even then i'll only have 95 hours saved up....

i need 12 days saved up.... I'll have to see if i can work extra at some point before/after the trip if i have to use any before then....

My trip last august killed a day.... But worth it...

i have an appointment on saturday morning to get our passports done...

Luckily i haven't filled out the forms yet (pays to procrastinate in this case)

The passport women called us on Tuesday to warn us that the applications were changing effective 2/1 (tomorrow) and won't be available until that date. GREAT

Fees are going up slightly too.... DOUBLE GREAT...

Luckily the processing fee is slightly less but passport part is more so not much more than a couple dollar increase....

Got my MUG SHOT today for passport...I'll have to post later.. DH looks like an axe murdurer. I look like a convict.... TRIPLE GREAT....

I get 14 vacations hours because I have over 15 years, when I hit 20 yrs I get 16 a months. (Hopefully they will offer an early out in the next contract and I can go, w/my health care!) The sick time just stays at 8 hrs a month. For the sick I'm under the old plan where I accumulate each month instead of getting the days up front for the year. I also have my 32 hrs of personal business back which comes out of my sick bank, but doesn't count as sick time. Gotta love government! I haven't had 40 hours of sick time since my dd was born. Either she gets sick or I do!

I just bought 4 of these for our trip so we can each have our own wheeled carry on. This way I won't hear, "Mom can I have my gum, Ipod, magazine, etc." Plus I'm hoping the more we can stick in these babies the more room I have in the suitcases. I'm also going to buy a couple of rolling garment bags, because I realized with tuxes & dresses that one just isn't going to cut it. Now if I can keep everything else in 1 good sized suitcase a piece we should be okay....I hope!
