Hi Desiree,
Have you had any problems from all this rain? I'm dreading the next round that's on the way. DH Paul went out and got sandbags - but not sure if it's going to keep the water out of our garage.
Thinking about the cruise keeps me sane!!

Luckily we don't live in a flood area as far as anything really flooding our garage. It could come in under the door if it gets to bad. Our house is up a bit so that's ok - I have huge trees and am terrified they are going to go over from wind/saturation. :scared1: Tomorrow it is supposed to be bad here..really bad. I have to go and get all the paperwork for the polls. I am an inspector for the election here in our area. I don't want to go out in this weather! Also, my DD's birthday dinner is tomorrow night. Hoping for the best. What area do you live in? I am in Whittier.

Ok sign on this morning .....posted .. Went to the parks .. got home and how many pages to catch up.. ???????? :lmao: :lmao:

When I get some definitive information back from him. I will be happy to share. This is the email I sent him and his response back.

This is a copy of the email I sent and his reply. I sent him back--no mobility issues and maybe a few would be interested in emerald shopping, but most probably in regular souv. I'll keep you informed about the progress. I used 24 as a number where I thought we would be able to get the best rate.Paula

I believe that in 7 hours (10-5) you should be able to do both. Let me find
out what options are now available for Baru and beach type things, figure
out the lunch possibilities, and then work it into a full day tour with the Old
City as well.

Are there going to be any (all?) of the group that will want emerald and
higher-end shopping options? Only souvenirs?

Also, are there any mobility issues with anyone that I should take into
cosideration?

I did not even realize that Disney was going to have a ship arriving in
Cartagena in the normally "off" month of August. Let me work on this a bit
and get back to you.

So when I get an itinerary back and costs it will be easier to say yes you would be interested. And I am sure that he would be delighted to have a group larger than 24. Chris said that she would help me. :goodvibes

Paula, This sounds great. :thumbsup2

I can't believe it took me two hours to ketchup. I've done way too much reading today.

I have to complete 24 credits of continuing education for my Rad Tech renewal. I had two years to get it done. Guess who waited until the last minute? Again, I spent way too much time reading today.

Anyone get the details on how to register for the prizes?

I know who to send the PM to, I just missed what to put in the subject area.

It's going way to fast for me.:surfweb:

BTW, the basic premise of the poll is way off since the Mods have nothing to do with any of this. This is in the hands of our tech guys so please lighten up on the terrific Mods who volunteer their time to keep an eye on the boards.
Thanks!

CRASH....ditch the poll already......

I believe that in 7 hours (10-5) you should be able to do both.

One problem i see with a tour until 5 is that didn't we think that Cartagena was Pirate Night. It will take my crew some time to get ready and i know the captain starts "assembling" mid day.....

So there isn't much hope that any of us with early dining might be able to go.

Well that and there's no way i would cut it that close with departure times and chance getting stranded in Columbia. :scared1: 30 mins isn't much room to play with on a non-DCL tour. At least if the tour is DCL sponsored and late..the ship would probably try to wait.

Ah but they do not have Cadbury's proper Chocolate, the one thing I have never found is good Chocolate in the USA. Hersey's just doesn't do it for me, I toured their factory, it was nice to see, but ah Cadbury's Chocolate! One place we are better than USA, (well that and our TV).

this is me with any kind of european chocolate

Then again i'm a native pennsyltuckyian (home of Hershey) so raised with Hershey's.

I once had someone bring me back swiss chocolate and while i thanked them...i had to chuck it because no one would eat it.

Thanks for the welcomes. I remember there was a list on the original thread with lots of info about activities being planned. Does anyone have that info? We're traveling with young children and asked for early dining. Are there many others on early dining? Have you gotten a dining rotation yet? We'd like to try and join in on that rotation if possible.

Everyone must have been bored today. I have a lot of chatting to catch up on!!!:lmao: :lmao:

In fact they are made here in Louisville at Mother's Cookies. I don't know if they are the only baker for them or not though. My BIL works there. That being said I have not bought a box of cookies in years--I would open it and before I knew what happened the whole box was gone:confused3 :confused3 Now when they are outside the stores selling them, I just give them some money for their troop funds.:)

There are at least a few bakers of GS cookies. Even within Dallas/Ft Worth we use 2 different bakers.
PSA- The GS are collecting boxes to send to the troops so when you buy some, buy an extra for a soldier.

I think everyone is taking the poll too seriously. Everyone just needs to take a step back and keep it in perspective. We would be in bad shape had we not had the wonderful pirate site, but look how many new and newly back posters we have. I say keep the new one and if we have to change out frequently we will probably benefit.

How about Ghiradelli's, from California?

I agree, English Cadbury's is wonderful -- the Dairy Milk is so creamy.:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Ghiradelli's is my FAV next to Godiva. And it's just a hop, skip and bridge toll for me to Ghiradelli Square in SF.

Desiree

I'm in Marin County - my DD Lori is in Redondo Beach (where I'll be headed when there's a break in the weather). While driving around the area I noted both fences and trees down from this last round of storms.
Stay as dry as you can - I've got a big pot of soup on and plan on hibernating tomorrow!!

We were able to swap into a cabin that my sister was going to cancel. Now our kids are able to join their cousins on this cruise of a lifetime. I tried to keep up with the original thread but it moved too fast. I'm glad you have a new thread that's not as intimidating. We are a group of 11. 5 adults, 3 boys aged 22, 13 and 10 and 3 girls aged 15, 11 and 8. I've been chosen as the planner for our group and I'm going to try and join in on the planning here.

Ed-

Welcome. My DS will be 12 on the cruise, turning 13 on Sept 6.

Jump right in and join the fun.
