Please pray harder, folks!
I was in a meeting with my pastoral council an hour ago, discussing strategies to help the many flood victims out there, when our parish office rumbled and shook.
Several blocks away, in the flooded area where houses are half-submerged, a house blew up.
Reports are conflicted and varied right now, but we are all praying that no one was near enough to be hurt or killed. The houses in that area have all been evacuated since Sunday, so I am hoping that no one was inside.
Anyway, please keep our communities in your prayers as we try to work through this massive flood.
Many thanks.
YIKES!
We are praying.
I've been told by a few people at the college that theyme. So if they get an opening soon...
(Actually i know that they have one but it won't open for a few weeks) It's weird. I've felt more appreciated during the last two weeks than I was the entire two years i was at the county.
I've also got a possible temp job lined up for a month.
and
THE CITY OF FRED CALLED ME FOR AN INTERVIEW FOR A PLANNER POSITION TODAY>>>>>>>> THe interview is on Monday afternoon. UH....HELP.....I need a suit... I have none that fit anymore... CARP....Well time to see what goodwill has....
Good news on the interview and the college folks loving you K!
Maybe look at TJ Maxx or JC Penney for a reasonably priced, decent looking suit. The cheaper ones seem to hold up for about 3-5 wearings. That would at least get you through interviews for notsomuch money.
Hope everyone is doing well. My life is over as I know it. I have decided that the good Lord didn't want me to have too quiet a life so he blessed my with my dd!But now we have a new addition ---- a trumpet!
Yes, last night was instrument rental night so we now have a trumpet, music stand and band book. DD tells me that they will be playing in the Christmas parade. She will be singing with the chior/ensemble before the parade and then she will have to hustle to the staging area to get with the elementary band! I figure that she can practice after school while she waits for me to come home!
I hope, cause it doesn't sound too good right now!
But she is ahead of the game because she can read music!
OMG I hear ya on this. At least the trumpet doesn't require "alternative transportation"

Our school starts strings only in 4th grade, band in 5th. DS10 came home Tuesday with a sign up form, he had already filled in all of his information and his instrument of choice...the bass.
Yes, my kid wants to play an instrument that is not only bigger than him, but also sounds terrible when not accompanied by a full orchestra.
