8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

ok...normally I throw away offers that come in the mail....but with the price of airfare these days, I'm pondering this one. I'm curious if anybody has done one of these offers w/ American Express before and if its worth doing or not.

It is for a free airline companion ticket for trying 2 issues of Travel & Leisure magazine, for a $2.99 processing fee. The companion ticket is free to keep and you can cancel anytime and is listed as a $744.00 value, good for travel on most major airlines, coach class in the US...BUT it does list "other restrictions including advanced booking and black out dates".

Like I said...I usually trash these with out reading, but with airfare so high, causing the potential to not be able to go on trips at times....I wondered if this may be worth it.

Thoughts?

Our trip is for 2009... Now if you want to do the same trip next year...:yay: We booked ours when we were in WDW after the cruise. Dh wanted to try a new resort nest year and he picked AKL. We've never been so, everyone is excited.

Well then I probably won't still be there!
:lmao:

Crossing all crossables for you.......'course they've already been crossed for K and I....I'm feeling like a pretzel these days.....anyone have any cheese dip?

MMmmmm, I like pretzels with cream cheese.

Interview went well, I think...

Oh wow, I didn't know that! I've yet to get in the adult pool... but then I also don't have a white bathing suit. LOL
Is the turning clothes blue from a lot of chlorine? Or do they put blue dye in it or what? (our experience with too much chlorine bleaches swimsuits, not turn them blue. So that's why I'm curious what causes that. This is the first I've heard about that!)

The pool was painted blue and it kept rubbing off on us.

Okay JEN......... I think the serving is wrong. Add one bootle of rum and serves one person.:lmao: :lmao:
Ooops....my bad. That's what I mean. Add one "bootle" of rum and you get one serving! :)

Shelly, the paint was wearing off on our hands and feet. I thought they painted the pool and didnt let it dry long enough before we were allowed back in it..
Looks like Doreen answered too!

Please pray harder, folks!

I was in a meeting with my pastoral council an hour ago, discussing strategies to help the many flood victims out there, when our parish office rumbled and shook.

Several blocks away, in the flooded area where houses are half-submerged, a house blew up.

Reports are conflicted and varied right now, but we are all praying that no one was near enough to be hurt or killed. The houses in that area have all been evacuated since Sunday, so I am hoping that no one was inside.

Anyway, please keep our communities in your prayers as we try to work through this massive flood.

Many thanks.

We'll definitely keep all of the folks affected by this in our prayers.

We hung out a bit on deck 4 and often saw dolphins, didn't take any photos though, past experience proves I'm wasting my time even trying and I'm best just looking :rotfl2:

Those ray snaps are great! We spent quite some time watching them jumping about in Cabo.

I was sitting with Paula talking near the adult pool the first sea day and noticed something in the waves. It ended up being a huge school of dolphin! We watched them jumping as we passed. It was like they were showing off because they would twist and turn way up above the water and then dive back in...like at a show at Seaworld. I sat there watching them and thought that I should go get the kids out of the Goofy pool to see them but if I had I would have missed all of it...no camera either...just the wonderful memory. :)

Done I have gotten our photos uploaded. Not everything mind you only the best for this group and one special one for AndyR wonder if he can guess which one it is?

Boy I haven't even finished going through them all yet! My toddler is being very needy lately! She constantly pulls me off the couch to sit on the floor so she can sit on my lap and play with stuff. OK OK OK I love it! It's so cute!

We still don't have power at home, but do at my office. and my cell phone has no signal at home.

I discovered the hard way that this is because CELL TOWERS NEED ELECTRICITY TO WORK.... The one year our neighborhood lost power for two days then we got restored but still no cell signal. Then we discovered that the neighborhood next to us (where the tower was) curiously still had no power for more than two weeks later. I could the cell co. and complained and they gave me a credit.

Crossing all crossables for you.......'course they've already been crossed for K and I....

My crossables are still crossed for you & K too! They may get cramps,

Keeping all my crossables crossed for M, K, and Monica!!

Keep em crossed for a few more days....

I've been told by a few people at the college that they  me. So if they get an opening soon...:rolleyes1 (Actually i know that they have one but it won't open for a few weeks) It's weird. I've felt more appreciated during the last two weeks than I was the entire two years i was at the county.

I've also got a possible temp job lined up for a month.

Please pray harder, folks!

Wow!!!!

That's horrible. It's hard for me to find words to say here... so I'll just offer prayers and wishes for the waters to receed and for folks to find recovery help quick and with the hope that it's effective.

I think someone else will reply with with greater aplomb and diplomacy - but there it is from me this evening...

Paula, your cabin wasn't the one on deck 8 that they were repairing, was it?

No, our cabin was 6583 or at least it was for the first few days - but I'll let Crash tell the story seeing he has the pictures and as they say, a picture tells a 1000 words. ;)

Your mom and I must have missed eac other at the medical center. I was also there on PC day, also for my throat. I came on the ship too with a cold that was fairly awful the first week. It started to get better but then my throat was hurting so badly. Dr. Nick gave me some amoxycillin, but I don't think it was enough. My throat started to feel better but I was still really congested and coughing alot. When I got home it didn't get any better and I went to the doctor who gave me Zithromax and said I had a nasty sinus infection. I'm just now really starting to get over it all, although I'm still a little congested, so it's been a month.

There sure were some nasty bugs going around.

Mind you, there are a bunch of people at work with hacking coughs too so at least we can't be blamed for bringing it home with us.

I remember a few years ago I did a Contiki Tour (18-35s) and they warned us about the "Contiki Cough" that most groups go down with towards the end of the trip. I guess anything goes around really fast in a confined space with all that air-con.

I'm glad you are feeling better now. Its really lingering, isn't it?

So should we blame the Disney Crud on MUM!!!:confused3 :confused3;) All I can say it was one heck of a cold I ever had!!!!:headache: :headache:
I hope everyone is feeling better now.:flower3:

Heck yes! That's the only reason I take her on holiday so I have someone to blame for everything! (at home, I blame one of the dogs)... :rotfl:

I did some Contiki tours too, back in the 90s. I remember that about the "Contiki cough". Usually it's my DS now who gets sick when we travel. I think he picks things up on the plane since he tends to get sick about one week after we fly. Last year he had croup and cold when we were at WDW. This past June, he again had croup and a cold when we were in San Francisco visiting friends after going to DL.

Interview went well, I think...

:thumbsup2 Hope you hear good news soon!

:grouphug: Sorry to hear about all the flooding. Keeping your area in my thoughts. Here the official total was 4" of rain, but some places got 6-8". I was wondering if your area was effected.

Keep em crossed for a few more days....

:thumbsup2 Sounds like things are starting to turn around for you! I've got everything crossed for everyone who needs it. Makes it kinda hard to drive though!

Hope everyone is doing well. My life is over as I know it. I have decided that the good Lord didn't want me to have too quiet a life so he blessed my with my dd! :goodvibes But now we have a new addition ---- a trumpet! :scared1: Yes, last night was instrument rental night so we now have a trumpet, music stand and band book. DD tells me that they will be playing in the Christmas parade. She will be singing with the chior/ensemble before the parade and then she will have to hustle to the staging area to get with the elementary band! I figure that she can practice after school while she waits for me to come home! :thumbsup2 I hope, cause it doesn't sound too good right now!:scared1: But she is ahead of the game because she can read music!
