8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #15 /Life After the PC

Just got off of the phone with a friend who took a 3 day cruise here while I was gone...seems that somehow..someone was supposed to pack their cabin closet (she was busy packing up the kids stuff) and forgot..she says his name shall not be mentioned :rotfl:

Once home and unpacking she realized it and called the cruise line. her clothes has already been packed up and Fed-Ex'd to Florida. She had to wait until they could ship them back here to California. :rotfl2:

Glad we didn't forget anything in our cabin!

If you log in on the site with the sharing password, you should be able to move them (under big picture spot is drop down menus).

Or tell me where they start/end and I will move

oh, yay! That worked.
So, how do I avoid them going into another gallery for the next group of pix?

Whenever I can.

I try to keep two or three on my arms at any time.

See...I seriously need another vacation..I first read your response as "I try to have 2 or 3 arms at any time"

And no..I haven't been drinking....although I seem to be able to function better when I have been.. :rotfl:

Does anyone know what was in the California Dream drink on board? I went to look it up and the only one I can find is a martini type drink, not the yummy froo froo one that was on the ship.:lovestruc

SDhoneymooner- were you next to Aly & AJ at the end of family beach at CC? Just curious. I took some photos (played paparazzi for a bit...was over there for the rugby game LOL) of them, not sure if you're in them though. I can check! I didn't see them talking to anyone at that time though- so it might be a different time of day than you're talking about. I only took photos for a minute or two then back to the rugby game then we all hightailed it outta there shortly after the rugby game.
Not at CC. Aly sat down next to us at the adult pool one day right before the adult pool games. We chatted a bit when I warned her that her white bikini was probably going to turn blue if she didn't grab a towel to sit on. The paparazzi were out in force on deck 10 that afternoon!

HA! I haven't taken a full breath in swimwear since I was 11!

Oh sorry... I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you were right next to them at CC. LOL
(ps. the lounge chairs there will turn white clothing/swimsuits blue?)

Could be this and they added rum?

California Dream
- 6 oz. Frozen lemonade concentrate
- 6 oz. Frozen orange juice concentrate
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 cup grenadine
- 1 quart lemon-lime soda

Combine all ingredients except soda. Add soda immediately before serving. Makes 12 servings.

No worries. And no, the lounge chairs at the adult pool don't turn clothing blue, but the pool itself will. We noticed that our feet had turned a slight shade of blue after being at the adult pool all afternoon. Then I saw a spot on one of my bathing suits, so I wasn't taking any chances with the white one. It washed out, but I know I wouldn't have wanted my expensive bikini to change colors. So I warned her before she sat down.

Hi everyone,
I am feeling bad that I haven't been on this thread for a bit and have been MIA, but I was in WDW for a week after the cruise, and have been trying to catch up ever since. I guess now that its been a week, I should be about done....lol. At least DH and kids were able to get back on Labor Day and start right into school and work.

Pdarrah, I don't have any concrete Disney plans for the coming year, and it is making me sad too. I just knew that by the TOAL finally arriving, it would be over soon, and then nothing. I have prebooked the free dining in 2009, but I am not used to going a whole year. I am hoping something will come up before then, but then on the other hand, I need to save up for 2010. :cloud9:

How in the world did I not see you there? :confused3
While we were there we went ahead and booked the free dining thing -- AKL Sept 27-Oct 4 or so.
When are you going?

Whenever I can.

I try to keep two or three on my arms at any time.

:rotfl: :rotfl: I'm sure your boys appreciate it but, does Ellen?

I laughed so loud when I read your post that I had to tell Jon & the kids the story from the beginning.....
And yes, it's late for the kids. We don't get home from rehearsals until a little after 10. Tonight we had to leave so early that the kids were really hungry when we got home....... :)

Thanks Tom, these are great. Especially since this was the only wildlife I saw the entire trip. But then again, I didn't spend much time watching the water. They need to put a bar next to the rails. Hmm...maybe not a good idea though.

We hung out a bit on deck 4 and often saw dolphins, didn't take any photos though, past experience proves I'm wasting my time even trying and I'm best just looking :rotfl2:

Those ray snaps are great! We spent quite some time watching them jumping about in Cabo.

At our age are any of Innocent? Not guilty, yes.......

Mike, tell your dw & dd that Claire & I say *Hi!*

I told Lexi that you both said HI and she got a big smile and waved hi to the computer and told me to say Hi back for her.

It sure was hot and steamy (or at least that was the start of it...) :rotfl:

Oh my, am I fed up with this cough! I thought it was the air con as I started about 3 days into the cruise and I even completely lost my voice for about 3 days too mid way through but I STILL have the cough! Will it even stop?

Mum ended up bringing a nasty cold with her onboard the ship and actually had to visit the ships doctor and had to get a course of antibiotics finally on PC day - her throat was so sore and swollen she couldn't hardly swallow. She probably should have gone earlier but was trying to just let it take its course.

Then Robert went down with it while we were at WDW - he couldn't just have a normal dose of "man flu", he also had to have a severe allergic reaction and we had to take him to the ER with a swollen tongue and lips. 4 hours and $2000 later, they discharged him! Holy cow, if ever you consider the reason for getting travel insurance then that is a fraction of the price. He then on and off had occasional itching and his foot, hand or lip would swell but not to the same extent. We couldn't work out what was causing it as often it could occur hours after eating anything. Odd. We wonder if because of his "man flu" whether his body was just over reacting to something.

As for our pics, we have mostly sorted them now but the memory card is at work - I'll upload probably at the weekend. I've been enjoying looking at other peoples photos - some are amazing. Is it wrong to take a copy and pretend I took them? :rotfl:

Does anyone have a copy of the PV Ziplining DVD that I can grab a copy of? Happy to cover costs obviously. :)

We've been loving our FE gifts, the CDs have been well played and other items are being put to use daily - bookmarks, pens, keyrings etc. Mum grabbed the pocket watch before we could get a glimpse of it and shouted "mine" ... maybe I'll ask her to leave it me in her will.

I'm not sure if I mentioned previously that I have a pact with my MIL, she said somewhat foolishly one time that if I'd go to the Opera in Sydney, she'd come to Disney sometime - thinking I'd say no. Well, we had a great time at the Opera last year so when I saw the Baltic listed, I knew she'd be keen as she's always wanted to cruise through there. Robert called her and she said yes immediately. Guess you can sign us up then for that ;) I figure she'd prefer a cruise to the parks - in fact, I am sure she'd love it.

Ok, better go do some chores...

No where near the Gulf Coast . . . and yet . . .

Hey folks, kindly keep all of us in Northwest Indiana in your prayers.

You would not think that a hurricane would do in the Chicagoland area, but that is exactly what happened this past weekend.

The remnants of Hurricane Ike went through our country and as it dumped rain in Northwest Indiana all day Saturday and Sunday, rivers, creeks, ponds, and lakes all flooded.

The town I live in had to evacuate thousands of people from their homes. Some homes are almost completely under water. Businesses along the main street are submerged. The busiest highway for truck traffic in the nation (I 80/94) has been closed for two days and there is really no re-open date in sight.

http://www.thetimesonline.com

Keep all the affected people in your prayers, please.

At least we did not get the knock-out punch. Originally, the forecast called for 30 mile and hour sustained winds for Sunday night. If they would have come, the trees would not have been able to stand since they are in completely saturated ground and that would have caused massive power outages as well.

Schools are closed, nursing homes and clinics have had to be evacuated. It is a real mess.

Remember us!

Thanks.

The one day I got the newspaper I know I saw something about Munster and hoped all was well with you. Sorry I never got to meet you on the cruise.

Well my area (SW Ohio) got hit hard on Sunday. 250,000 homes/businesses without power in the Dayton area and around 1/2 million in the Cincinnati area. I live in between. We still don't have power at home, but do at my office. Then to top it off I ended in the emergency room with DH yesterday. He was having chest pains. Turns out it wasn't his heart thank goodness, but we are not sure what it is yet. He has to see his own doctor this week. I personally think it is stress. He works for a builder and on top of making sure we didn't have any damage at our home, folks were calling him (his cell phone worked) to see about fixing damage on their homes. So he was climbing up on roofs and checking on alarms, etc. We don't have phone service either and my cell phone has no signal at home. His office is without power (until this morning) so everyone is calling his cell phone. He was able to take the phone to a site that did have power and charge it along with some lights. I have my laptop at work today to charge it. And some bottled water to freeze to keep things cold.

So we are living in the dark, but we do have water and a grill to cook all the food before it goes bad. We just bought a bunch of meat from our favorite local grocery and have been eating steak the last couple of nights. Batteries and ice are hard to come by and gas stations are beginning to re-open. It really makes you realize how lucky you are. We only lost power and it is a major pain, but there are so many with much worse.

So I am here at work checking on what is going on in the world. Boy do I miss TV and the internet.:rotfl2: Had to find out who won BB10.:confused3

Still kicking myself for not booking a dummy cruise.

You're going to keep the trip then?

How'd the interview go?

Today at 3...stay tuned.

We're still going on the Oct. trip. It is just DH & I and it is already paid for. We'd lose most of the $$ at this point if we didn't go.

Our Jan. trip is up in the air right now. The only money we've spent on it is DH's $120 marathon registration, so if I don't find something quick, we won't make that trip.
