we are hoping for Alaska too (or Hawaii) in 2010, and rebooked onboard.
I ran into a friend in WDW on Wednesday who said she had come across info that Disney has leased dock space in Alaska for a 10 year period...starting in2010. Time will tell.....

Actually Russ heard that today too about Alaska. Also, for both Alaska and Hawaii is the one's actually that would like to do. I just hope that maybe what it will and again time will tell. We haven't booked anything yet but just waiting to see what the next cruise will be.

Hi Dawn, Russ, Ryan, and Skyler! We missed saying goodbye to you as well. Guess this means we have a trip to CO or you have a trip to CA in your future! We are feeling a bit better, but still have the lingering crud that everyone seems to have come down with. My cough has gotten worse the last day or so, but at least our other "issues" are over! If I'm not feeling better Monday, I'm going to the Dr. Thanks for being such great across the hall neighbors! Your family is great and we enjoyed getting to know you. I've got your postcard in one of our suitcases still, but I'll send you an email when I find it. Say hi to the kids for me.

Someone mentioned the lack of mexican food on the cruise (which I found odd but then afterwards found out on this board they atleast had nachos in somewhere- forget where now- but I didn't know that on the cruise!) and I thought I quoted it but I guess it didn't "take". They had one night we thought was to be mexican food but it sure wasn't when we got there- atleast not the kind we were craving. LOL Needless to say we had to get our fix pretty soon after getting home and I went for tacos this evening also... gotta have my Tex-mex. LOL

We rebooked onboard a buncha rooms for the dummy date. At present time we have a cat 7 and cat 11 moved to Dec 26th, 2009 (but it's a surprise to the kids and subject to change due to any circumstances that come up before than and/or if we decide to cruise in 2010 instead- dependingon the itinerary that comes out in Oct I think it is..) and the other rooms are still the dummy date but on waitlist (with my TA on his "in house" waiting list- not with DCL) for 2010 cruise if there are special cruises and/or any repo cruises that come out and also on TA's waitlist for 2011 when new ships come out- perhaps inaugural cruise depending on when that date is and if it works for our schedule.

So anyway my point is that we're thinking about Dec 26th, 2009 with other rooms still on the dummy date 12-5-09 and things may change later. if things do NOT change for the 2 rooms we moved to Dec 26th though... and if we do go on that cruise- we're planning on taking the trailer and staying a week before the cruise at FW (already booked the site- can cancel later if necessary). At first we were thinking let's keep the cruise a surprise for Christmas- especially if we end up not going on that cruise then the kids won't be disappointed but also just to keep it a surprise this time and be "different" than we usually are -with telling the kids years ahead...... but then I thought do I really want to go to FL just for the cruise and not do WDW before? ofcourse not! And besides we usually don't have much going on here for Christmas anyway. Our (immediate) family is left out in the cold now on Christmas since all my family seems to be splitting up all going to THEIR inlaws for christmas or only doing their immediate family on Christmas- and we enjoyed our winter/Christmas times at WDW before! So why not! right?
So anyway... now if we do the FW week before we think we'll just let them think we're only going to WDW and then they'll think we're going home on the day after Christmas- they won't have a clue where we're going (meaning they won't know that we're not heading home) until we can see the ship. Then we'll be all like oh, maybe we should just go on a Disney cruise instead of going home? and then enjoy the looks on their faces. that sounds like fun. LOL

If there is no exciting itinerary (nothing special) in 2010 we'll probably try to do this plan for Dec 26th, 2009 and then wait to see if we can move the other dummy bookings to 2011 dates on the new ship.

It's Friday evening and I still have stuff in the suitcases.

But we are all doing well, and miss everyone and the ship. Thank you so much for everything and the FE, it was amazing. Also, thank you to Cruisen Mike for the the photo frame. We just loved it. We really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to do it again.
Russ would like to go in 2010 but haven't booked anything yet. He wants disney to possible go thru Alaska but whatever that route will be when Disney post it we will check it out.

I hope everyone is feeling better and hope all is well. Hard to get back to the normal stuff. Miss the "Desserts" Chocolate stuff really bad and having withdrawls.

We're also crossing our fingers for an exciting 2010 itinerary. We rebooked onboard with the dummy date. But if not, we'll be happy to just do an Eastern or a Double Dip!

Thanks for sending the link of the pictures. We're still downloading & organizing ours. And yes, we still have some stuff in a suitcase, but it's mostly unloaded.

I'm glad to hear that you got the photo frame, and hopefully your other Secret Mickey gifts too. The frame didn't fit in your FE, so I was hoping it would still be there when you got back to the cabin. The kids and I had fun sneaking down your hallway to leave the gifts and hoping that we didn't get caught.

Hope everyone on the 5 day is safe! This was our first cruise where one of us got seasick. I can't imagine what it'd be like on the outskirts of Hanna.

That last night with the 12 ft swells we thought our bedroom was going to fall apart!
10ds slept on the fold down bed (wood bookcases and the bed folds down in the middle). DH and I woke up just certain that with that much noise at least part of the bed/wall was going to break!!!

And the kids didn't even wake up! LOL! I coudln't believe that no one was thrown from their bed! LOL! We were rocking!

The kids had a great time with the gifts that were received and thank you so much for everything we are still going through everything in our suitcases. We still in unpacking mode. But I will get around to it soon. I really appreciate everything that you did and actually everyone did too. We had fun doing the same tip toeing down that halls to put the goodies in the FE's. Skyler really loved it alot and putting stuff in there.
I actually did meet you on I believe Postcard exchange and maybe some other places around the boat. But I just didn't put two and two together. LOL But Mike thank you and your family for everything and hope to meet up soon.

Question for those that turned in your passports. Did they get stamped from all the ports? I never bothered to turn ours in, but now DS is mad that I didn't try.

We got one stamp on our own in Acapulco. My wife is a little too obsessed with trying to get our passports stamped . In Acapulco, they did it in the terminal at the first desk just inside the door.

We asked in Cartagena and were told we'd have to go somewhere downtown. I was hoping to actually find their stamp if it had their slogan on it. "Cartagena...where the only risk is that you won't want to leave."

We asked in Aruba in the morning. They said Customs would be onsite at 4pm and to check with them. We didn't get back until around 5:30pm and there was no one at customs. Then I get to hear DW say, "He said 4pm, not 5:30pm". Like the customs guy/gal actually showed up at 4pm and left at 4:01pm.

I then asked a port security guy, he said that customs would clear the ship about 11pm and to come back then. After dinner and the Aly/AJ concert, DW and I ran over to the Crystal Casino. We won a quick $240 on a slot machine, then headed back to the ship at about 10:45pm. We asked the guard if the customs was there yet and he said they had already been there and left.

Hi! I am lurking from Oct 19 board. I hope it is all right. Just very excited to go on my first cruise. Our board is small in comparison to yours. It is fun to see how much some of you connected and I hope we get much of the same.

Quick question if you all do not mind, or find it untactful. I am trying to put together some FE gifts and some thank you tokens for the nursery/kid clubs ect.; what was the items you got/gave that worked well, was really cool? If not appropriate to answer, I understand.


Again, really fun to have followed the last part of your trip. I am from CA, San Diego actually, but in CO now and enjoyed the small references to CA.

Thank you again for helping me get my pre-cruise fix.

The Glacier Bay authorities put a notice out that if any cruise line would like to cruise through Glacier Bay anytime from 2010-2020 they had to put in a request now. That doesn't necessarily mean that DCL will be there in 2010. Only that if they want to cruise there anytime within those 10 years they had to put in their request by mid August 08

I didn't really notice the rocking but I have to agree- I thought the room was falling apart from the SOUNDS. There was a lot of "noise" going on -creaking and such. And it wasn't quiet type creaking- it was loud. LOL

(ps. we noticed some pieces of wood and in some places pieces of paper- one looked like a navigator maybe but I didn't wan tto remove it to find out how old it was because I figured it was there for a REASON- up in the ceiling in some places in our room- like crammed there between the walls and ceilings. we figured they were there for some reason? I dunno. LOL I was just afraid to remove any of it, even the navigator looking one that had me curious, because I was afraid it had to be there in those places for a reason and maybe it would be creaking or something there if I removed any of it. LOL We also had a door to the shower/tub room that was hard to click all the way shut- really hard. So sometimes it wasn't shut all the way and that last night it wasn't and it started banging around... till I got up and finally got it to click all the way shut. LOL It scared me the first time though... I wonder if anyone else heard it? the first bang sounded like a gunshot I guess since it's like a metal door or something? I dunno but it was LOUD and scared the you know what out of me!)

We are up here in Loveland. We are going on the four night cruise leaving Oct 19th followed by three days in WDW. A bit concerned we will miss CC with all the storms.

Well, have a great time and please keep in touch when you get back. If you need anything else just let me know. We are not to far I think, ok according to map qwest its about hour and 30 min. I just moved here from Oregon. Today was cold and wanting warm weather since we got back. That would be cool to go during that time too. But the storms are kinda crazy this year.

No..I live in Ca..near Disneyland..we are driving home from Florida. We arrived in Amarillo tonight and head for a city near Flagstaff tomorrow.

Stay safe and take your time driving.

We are...long trip tho..i am ready to get home...9 hour drive today..woke up in Little Rock..ended up in Amarillo.

In Amarillo don't miss Cadillac Ranch or The Big Texan Steakhouse. It was great 10 years ago.

We did both in nov. ..going to Cadillac ranch again in the morning.

We are home now! It's nice to be home but I cannot believe our trip is over now....I have alot of reading to do to hear about everybody else's adventures....but have many suitcases, mail, and laundry staring at me. We got home a bit after midnight last night and had a fun 4 days in WDW after leaving our floating home on the Magic! The crowds were down in the parks which was nice...but we noticed the service was down in and around WDW too...or maybe it was just so nice on the Magic and too hard to compare. Our biggest shock after getting off the ship is having to pay for food and lack of fresh, fabulous fruit! LOL

Anyway...just wanted to say hi for now. We have over 3,000 pictures so far and still loading. Thats just from our 3 camera's and doesn't include the other 11 people we traveled with and their camera's. LOL

Thank you for the call from the AK! you made Tori's day..she was so bummed we didnt find one before we left. I get home Monday...let me know when is a good time to get together.
