Which hotel is this? Hopefully not HoJo's or I'll have to increase our TOAL budget! Everyone in the family enjoys Starbucks but me. I do like their iced tea, but I can get iced tea anywhere for a lot less.

Not sure where Terri is staying, but no Starbucks in HoJo's. There is one in the Hyatt (or maybe the Crowne Plaza??) but it's too far to walk to. Your budget is safe.

Mass During the Cruise

I just received an email from DCL. They state that they do not want to appear to sponsor any specific religion, so Mass has been cancelled.

Now that I have your attention! :lmao:

Just received a "tentative" itinerary from DCL. They have been gracious enough to schedule Mass daily for any interested passengers!

Mass is tentatively scheduled each day at 8:30 a.m. in the Buena Vista Theatre, Deck 5 Midship. The only change to their schedule is for the day we are at Cabo San Lucas on August 19th. Mass is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. that day.

I'll keep you posted if I hear anything more.

Oh, and by the way, for our "old time" Catholics out there who tend to get bent out of shape trying to "follow the rules", let me try to help you out: We are on vacation during this cruise. If your morning schedule/shore excursions mean that you go to breakfast and then come to Mass, I will dispense you from your Eucharistic fast. Don't let that be a worry for you!

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

So what happens if you had an excursion scheduled that would take you off the ship before 8:30am? Do they have a back up priest for you. Or did they ask you if you could do it daily?

Sorry, I know you've said before that this is the way it goes when you offer your services, but it just seems a little to controlling to me.

got it on the list...along with my last minutes things

going to hit the packing hard today......after I ketchup here of course

Al right Mike - (your on vacation - your Mike) Good to know, while I do tend to stray :rolleyes1 that's been one rule I definitely follow (and one more excuse....er.reason) to will keep that in mind!

NOTE TO SELF: GO TO CONFESSION ON SATURDAY! :confused3

OK - I'm off - my neighbor's DD called, she wants me to come by before she opens the estate sale and is offering me first dibs on whatever she's selling :sad1: - well my mom and I first dibs. I know this is unsavorable to some but at least its something to remember them by. They had an awesome replica of the Last Supper in Lladro style, not a LLadro but definitely something I would like to have. Assuming my mom hasn't beat me to it - she and I seem to have the same taste. Toodles!

Hey all,

This thread moves too fast for me, but I just had to check in briefly because my excitement is starting to reach fever pitch. In less than a week we'll all be in CA setting off on an adventure over a year in the making! It feels a bit strange because I'm so used to the schedules on the "regular" itineraries and this is all totally foreign territory. But hey, it will be an adventure!

We'd love to meet up with anyone and everyone...we're easy to find, as we'll be in the usual Barb and Tony Suite, aka stateroom 5650.

Tony is stressing a bit because our flight stops in St. Louis before continuing to CA (same plane tho'). I'm trying to reassure him that if we made it through our jaunt to Europe last year, which required three flights on two separate airlines, the CA trip will be a piece of cake. Even if it's not, I plan to be so hopped up on Xanax that I won't care. ;)

When I log on now, it tells me that I am linked to more than 5 cabins. I'm sure that there are not 5 cabins at one table.

Could be Palo private room or special receptions, etc. too.
