Mass During the Cruise

I just received an email from DCL. They state that they do not want to appear to sponsor any specific religion, so Mass has been cancelled.

So what happens if you had an excursion scheduled that would take you off the ship before 8:30am? Do they have a back up priest for you. Or did they ask you if you could do it daily?

When they sent the itinerary this morning, it was to run it by me to make sure that it was all right. A couple of months ago, when people asked about Mass, some people asked guest services if Mass could be scheduled daily. DCL asked if I would be willing to do that and I agreed. Certainly we won't get a lot of people, but there are those of us out there who like to attend daily Mass.

As to the excursion question, in Aruba, I had an excursion scheduled (8:45 a.m. Submarine). I went on line and modified it to a later time so that I could celebrate the 8:30 a.m. Mass. I emailed my DCL contact and just asked that, if there is any "penalty" for modifying the res so close to sailing that they would waive it for me. There should be no problem.

I'm a morning person and all those times are perfectly fine with me.

Sorry, I know you've said before that this is the way it goes when you offer your services, but it just seems a little to controlling to me.

Actually, I'm quite happy that they accommodated the request of several of the passengers. Now, we'll just wait to see if anyone shows at those daily times!

Can't help you with the park attendance question. I'm wondering myself since I'll be there Wednesday afternoon through Sunday.

Cabo day you can get a very big congregation as people will go there for their tender tickets if not on a DCL trip.

That's perfect. We can put a couple of volunteer ushers at the doors and insist that people give their collection money before coming into the theatre!

That's probably why they scheduled for 8:00 a.m. instead of 8:30 a.m.

When they realize that we have a much smaller crowd for weekdays, they just may move us to a smaller locale anyway. Who know . . .

Darn work has been so swamped today...don't my patients know I have to catch up on the dis!! Sheesh!

Hey all,

This thread moves too fast for me, but I just had to check in briefly because my excitement is starting to reach fever pitch. In less than a week we'll all be in CA setting off on an adventure over a year in the making! It feels a bit strange because I'm so used to the schedules on the "regular" itineraries and this is all totally foreign territory. But hey, it will be an adventure!

We'd love to meet up with anyone and everyone...we're easy to find, as we'll be in the usual Barb and Tony Suite, aka stateroom 5650.

Tony is stressing a bit because our flight stops in St. Louis before continuing to CA (same plane tho'). I'm trying to reassure him that if we made it through our jaunt to Europe last year, which required three flights on two separate airlines, the CA trip will be a piece of cake. Even if it's not, I plan to be so hopped up on Xanax that I won't care.

ok problem one...If the teacher knew you were new to the class (if they were qualified to teach) they would have given you various degrees of modifications.

problem two... i'd never recommend lots of standing on the first class.

Here's the thing...Spinning is not about keeping up with the class...It's about YOUR workout and YOUR skill level. You ALWAYS should be instructed how to modify and still exercise safely.

Now that said... after having taken a class previously on the magic...I'm not sure their instructor would meet standards for american certifications...

It is true she did not give me an individualized attention even though she was told I was new. She did say to the whole class to work at your own pace & sit if you needed to. Problem is...not one other person sat except when the instructor called for a break (which wasn't very often) and I felt kind of funny being the only one sitting so I know I pushed myself a lot more than I normally would have.

oh it was stolen all right by the 3rd day...thus why i didn't want her to take it in the first place...


My dog is probably the largest in the neighborhood...However, she is actually the last one you should worry about... It's more about the breed and the temperment in general that people should think about.

One of the neighbors has a chihauhau that bites and snarls....

So I called. The happy CM who answered told me that I had to try to book Palo again. Wrong answer. I spoke with a manager, he dug into it and called me back. He has no idea why it isn't showing up online, but Esteri still has both Palo reservations for 4 people (with all our names). The odd thing is that all our names used to show up on her reservation and my reservation. Now hers only shower the two of them on her "my cruise plans" and mine don't show at all.


I'm sure it is some artifact of the mega-linking, but OY!

Six bags plus carryons for 6 people? I'm embarassed to tell you how many bags we have for 5 of us!!

But, I bet you don't have a stroller, a full-size car seat, and a booster seat! We are planning on doing laundry 2-3 times also. Guess that's why I thought we wouldn't have quite as many bags as we do. Aren't you glad we're on SW?
