BTW, he got knocked out pretty early yesterday - boy was he  Seems he got a beat on the river which was so unlikely. Was he steaming. Anyway, he made his entry back and an additional $300 so he was happy about it later. Plus, ;) I got my share. I had to ask him to go today as I really need to pack! :rotfl2:

Oh, my . . . these door magnets are rather easy to create, aren't they?

God help me. I'm going to have to make a few.

I also found out how to do names and made one for my door as well.

michael.gif
ooh I wanna know how to do the name ones! Tell me please!

We'll be shacked up at the Hojo from Thursday afternoon.

Trying to swing DL for three days...That way we can go at a slower pace...

:headache: :headache: :headache:

DD has had some bouts with what may be either heat induced or exercise induced asthma.... SO now i'm worried about draggin her around so much.

Hey we could leave our dd's on a park bench together...
Sounds like a plan..... park them on a bench somewhere and take off without ST's. sounds good. :lmao: Except knowing Ruby she wouldn't STAY THERE! :lmao:

Found this on another thread from a trip last week ~ thought BIP? and a few others would be interested.

We arrived at the waiting taxis and tried to bargain for a price to take us to Sea Life Park. Previous trip reports had said they paid $40 to get there, so when I negotiated down to $28 I thought I did a pretty good job. We were taken to a really small car for the 4 of us and we proceded to wedge ourselves in. The drive was only 15 minutes, not the 30 minutes we had been told. As we were leaving, I asked the guy at the photo counter how much a taxi back should cost, he said no more than $15, which meant we had been charged double on the way over! He asked me if I remembered the cab number or anything and of course I didn't. He told us that he could report them for double charging us if we knew the information. When we got the cab on the way back, he said $20, and I said they told me inside $15 and he said ok. For future cruisers, the cost should only be $15.

Going into Sea Life Park, we noticed it was owned by Dolphin Discovery, the same people who owned the park where we did our Dolphin excursion in Cozumel last year. We checked in and were told where the lockers and bathrooms were and where to meet for the excursion. We were also told that all the water slides were reopened! The kids were pleased. When we found the lockers they were in the bathrooms, so
Thanks for the info!
One I'd originally read (very detailed trip report) said it was $5 per person on the way back and $7 per person on the way there or something. It sounded like they charged more to get there- although I don't know why. But now I know to try to talk them down on the price! LOL
I wonder can all 5 of us fit in a taxi? We don't do taxis... we don't HAVE taxis here... so I have no idea if we'd all fit in one. LOL

oh, I meant to add this too...

don't forget to check your flight schedules. We discovered our flight home from MCO had been changed, luckily only by 30 minutes. We discovered it ourselves, no notice via Delta or TA! Other's in our group who not staying in WDW, discovered their flight had been changed also.
Thanks for the reminder. Ours was changed and received email about it- but I should check again. I can do online check in/printing of boarding passes TONIGHT! OMG I have so much to do tonight to get US ready to leave and to get JEFF ready to leave on Friday too!

No, no, no. That's Motel 6
:lmao:
I wasn't being literal..... you know like people say leave the light on -on the thread? LOL

Did you have it x-rayed? Is it broken? Lisa (DD14) jambed her finger two weeks before an important competition. They thought it was broken at first, but they didn't think so after they x-rayed it. They just taped two of her fingers together. She avoided using it for 4 days and was back tumbling on it after that. Hopefully Ruby will heal quickly and this situation won't be as bad as you fear.:wizard:
I ddn't take her to get it xrayed. I know- bad mom right? but it was almost 10pm on Friday night- my only option at this point is ER and our ER stinks stinks stinks! you can sit there literally over 24hrs..... if you're not about to die right that second. been there done that. one time we waited over an entire 24hr and finally just left because it was then monday and made a drs appt! It's totally ridiculous. But plus I thought even if it was broken-they won't like put a cast or something on it anyway! They'll be just like yep it's broken but we won't do anything about it. (or can't) Yanno? LOL

cool!

I have extra batteries for my camcorder and laptop. Can I put them in my checked luggage? Can I put the chargers for them in my checked luggage?
on AA's website it says you can't bring EXTRA LITHIUM batteries on as carryon and it has to be checked. But it says those inside electronics can be carried on.... just extras can't be.

PS

UPDATE EVERYONE......BREAKING NEWS......BBC NEWS ......

Started packing.
good for you!

WOW I got my EARS...THANK GOD I GOT THEM before we left. YAH. :cool1: :woohoo:

B484B136-B615-9FDD-99EFFE753298D0F7.jpg
ooh I want them- give them to me! LOL

If the batteries are LITHIUM, then the answer is NO. They recently changed this and no LITHIUM batteries are allowed in checked luggage - they much be in carryon. You can put the charges in, but as someone else said if the luggage gets lost you'll be unable to charge....

Pamela
so is it NO lithium batteries or just not extras? on AA's website (we're flying AA) it says no extra ones can be carried on but those inside electronics can be. *confused now*

Sorry your wrong, she came and did it with me in 23 mins!!! (Then we did the packing!):cool1:
oh you mean DW? figures......
I bet she's also the toilet cleaning fairy, the laundry fairy, the dish washing fairy, the vacuuming fairy, etc. I know I am in this house! LOL

Christopher,
We plan to go for a bike ride on Castaway Cay. June (and anyone else) is welcome to join us:thumbsup2
No suburbans, no streams, no dogs--just a flat path..should be safe;)
I think Roger and family was considering this also.
Should be fun:goodvibes

Laurie, remember my story about the man that went biking on CC 2nd day out on the May repo? ::yes:: you guessed it - he broke his foot and was in a cast. So things can happen here too regardless of no suburbas, no streams and no dogs. And the funny thing is that I think Cheryl said she knew someone who broke their foot biking also, am I right Cheryl or did I just blow smoke? :rotfl:

If there is anyone who doesn't have trip insurance, please get it.

My step mother and her daughter called yesterday morning to tell us my father died...

OMG Tanya! I'm so sorry. Please accept our condolences too.

pixiedust: :tink: :grouphug:

Hi Laura! I'm in Huntington Beach, CA -- of course I have to keep checking in to see what is up with these pirates -- can't wait to see you again soon, Laura -- and can't wait to see everyone!

OmG I have to get off here- I have so much to do today!!!!

but right now- for the first time in her entire life- I don't know where my daughter is.
:scared1:
I'm mildly panicked about it but I'm trying to keep myself calm...... trying.

backstory:
Ruby has been wanting to go over this other girls house to ride her horses. She knows this girl from church and says her mom also teaches one of the classes (in awanas -which they don't do in the summer but that's irrelevant) but I don't KNOW THEM. Anyway, she asked about it a couple of weeks ago and I'm like well I don't know; them so I'll have to talk to her mom- get her number for me.
Ofcourse she forgot.
Then last week she took a change of clothes with her BUT she was supposed to call me if she was gonna be able to go over the girls house after church and I'd talk to her mom first. But then turned out she couldn't because they had plans after church and wouldn't be going home. But she still forgot to get their number!
So last night she mentions it again and I told her that she still had to call me after church and let me talk to her mom.
But I couldn't sleep last night (haven't been able to sleep well in a long time) so I ended up going to sleep while they were at church (I know- bad mommy and daddy not going to church 2 weeks in a row!) and she called- but spoke to JEFF! He didn't wake me up! (this is where he gets in trouble also :lmao: )anyway she just tells him that I said it was okay and he says okay and that's it.
WE DON'T KNOW the mother's name, their last name, where they live, their phone number- nothing! All I know is the girl's name is Jennifer, that's it.
And this is the first time I've ever not really known where Ruby is... they are supposed to bring her back to church tonight since they'll go to church tonight too -so until then I have no idea where my daughter is... just at some "jennifer's house" riding horses (and she better not get hurt again! OMG more panic......)
I'm so angry at my ST right now.. she knew better. She knew I had to talk to the mom and she knew we don't know diddly squat about these people or their phone number or anything. I'm trying really hard to stay calm because there is nothing I can do until this evening. Do you think I'm right to be upset? ugh

Anyway- i was able to bid/win a clarinet and case on ebay and even though I THOUGHT I only needed the case for Ruby because I THOUGHT she'd only demolished the styrofoam inside of her soft-sided clarinet case... good thing I decided to go for a clarinet too (since on ebay it's about the same price as JUST a case thru the school/etc.) because I was looking at her clarinet.... that used to be MY clarinet from 6th grade thru highschool... and she's basically demolished it too! it's a mess, even though just before school ended we got new corks and pads on it (again) I see broken pieces at the edges where the pieces connect together, a crack in the barrel and one body piece, etc.
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
leave it to her to tear up my clarinet I had ALL THOSE YEARS and never had a scratch on it. But then again I treated it like gold because I knew what a treat it was for me to be able to have such a thing- because we were so poor-- but she's an ungrateful spoiled brat who thinks nothing of damaging expensive items. (can you tell I'm not happy with my ST right now?)

Okay I'm gonna go keep myself busy getting all this tons of stuff done that I have to get done- to get us ready to leave tomorrow AND i have to get Jeff ready to leave on friday and list out everything he'll have to add to his luggage later and what he'll have to do/etc. I'm not used to leaving so much in his own hands. LOL I usually do all the packing and everything else! This time I'm doing everything I CAN do before I leave and he has to do the rest. He'll have to finish his packing, leave the house acceptable (water turned off/etc.), print out his boarding passes since AA only lets you check in/print that within 24hrs of your flight so I can't do it before I leave (and have to show him tonight how to do that when I do OUR tickets for our flight tomorrow), he'll have to get there on time, park the car in the right place already paid for, get his luggage checked (free since grandfathered in) and hope his carryon doesn't give him problems (I'm letting HIM carry the FE's and FE magnets for everyone- let hm lug those on! but hope he can explain if they ask what the magnet 'mass' is LOL), get there.... use the right shuttle to get to Hojo's that I already paid for/etc.

I'm a little anxious that he'll forget stuff. Even with lists of things to do or to buy at the store he always forgets something. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

If there is anyone who doesn't have trip insurance, please get it.

My step mother and her daughter called yesterday morning to tell us my father died. I asked when they were planning to have the funeral and they said Friday. I got a call later saying the family has decided to have the funeral on SUNDAY instead.

So I had to cancel. I'll get a refund. DCL refunded half yesterday and I have to turn in calm forms to the insurance company for the balance.

Since I didn't book airfare with DCL, I may be out of that expense.

Is there anyone here who hasn't purchased DL park passes yet? I have two of the three day Southern California passes. If someone needs them, they are yours (no charge). They expire on the 30. If I don't give them way, they will be wasted.

If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll overnight them before we head to South Carolina on Tuesday.

If no one here needs them, I'll try to give them away on DL board when I return.

Sorry to be a downer in the mist of all the excitement.

Enjoy your TOAL and please take/post plenty of pictures.

Love ya Tanya

Oh La Tanya, we were so looking forward to meeting another Brooklynite. So very sorry you will be missing out. I know how long you had been planning. But family does come first. :grouphug: So sorry for your loss.

Oh for crying out loud.
Well I guess I'm glad CC is our last port of the trip because Ruby is on the "wild side" excursion which I think includes bike riding. Leave it to her to break a foot or something... which would just be LOVELY (to return to school with a broke foot- when she's in marching band and soccer!)

Look- no more talking about injuries. I'm already in a panicked state at the moment (see other post)
:lmao:

Hmmm do i see a future olympic event in the making...

How to fit 100 lbs of pooh in a 50 lb weight limit suitcase...

or is that how to carry 10 bags without calling a porter..

or the mega-event.... speed packing...

You forgot...

CARPET ANGELS!!!:lmao:

OMG Laura, I was bitten by a German Shepard when I was 7 years old. He took half my lip and I had to have very painful reconstructive surgery for many years as a child. It really stunk growing up because kids can be very cruel and I was called "scarface" for many years of my life. It was very tough. I am now 48 and still have the scar on my face. It has always been hard for me to talk about it and most people I know, I don't tell that to until I know them very well or if they ask (and most people don't). I hope your son Andrew was okay from it. I can understand what he went through.

I am also very wary around dogs. It is kind of ironic that our beloved dog, Chivas who we put to sleep last September, and was our first dog as a family, was a German Shepard mix. She was the kindest, most loving dog in the world.

Debi

OMG Debi - yeah ::yes:: we got stories to exchange - I was bitten by a neighbor's dog in part due to my sister and got stitches in my right wrist and forearm. Can't tell you how many times I was called Frankinstein. My own sister told me that I was made by an evil scientist - you guessed it - I was 5 yrs old. I still freak when I see any German Shepard. I know its in how you raise them and what you are doing but as a 42 yo woman - I still freak and cross the street. When I'm walking Isis I have to fear - she has proven herself to me - she has come between me and a GIANT mixed chow that attacked me on a bike ride, then when she looked over at me to see if I was ok - decided to run off with the dang boy dog to play! I was more embarrassed as I hit the street and curb but really glad I wasn't seriously hurt.

People are cruel and Andrew doesn't talk about his incident. Although we did have to send him to therapy which he quit after 2 months. Refused to go. However, he does have an awesome scar on his left upper thigh. We told him to tell everyone that a shark got him and ripped him his leg to pieces. Yikes! Don't need that memory in my brain - suffice it to say - he has a whopper of a scar on his leg and puncture marks on his arm and behind.

In front of me is four large empty suitcase's, I was hoping if I look at them long enough, and think of the cruise, they will fill themselves of the clothes I wish to take, but the Suitcase Fairy seems to be on strike.

Darn It Andrew! You were supposed to send her here afterwards........what have you done with her and why is she mad? :confused3

:lmao:

REWARD

Bib,

I totally understand where you are coming from Ryan my DS14 does the same thing and no phone calls when he gets there or checks in. I am a worry wart when it comes to that. My DD6 in more responsible then him lol. She checks in when I tell her.

You are not wrong to be mad and "YOU GO GIRL" I will back you up 110% and even more. :)

Please keep me posted on Ruby and hope she comes home. I hate when kids do that. They do that all the time. How old is she? Please have her safe.

I always like to know what is going on with my kids and who they are with.

Your friends,

Your friends,
She's 14- but she's a very VERY immature 14yr old.. (adhd/odd you name it)
AND she's just never been the type of kid to have like friends to go to their houses and stuff like that. But even the few times she's gone to birthday parties and stuff I've known where she's going, the people she's going with, address/number, etc. I literally only know the girls name is Jennifer and that they go to our church- that's it.

right now I'm glad she's not home becuase i'm in a mood to wring her neck at the moment! But I'm still panicky- hope she doesn't get hurt, hope everything is okay and I know in my heart of hearts she'll be at church tonight but a teeny part of me is like what in the world would we tell the police if she didn't show up tonight? THAT HOURS AND HOURS AGO she was just going to some "jennifer's" house to ride horses? we'd look like the worst parents in the world.
Well officer- it's like this... we have no clue where she is just at some jennifer's house.
ugh
