8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #14

I have to do a drive by posting- things got HECTIC and now we're running late- supposed to have left the house almost 30min ago for DFW airport! Praying we don't get bad rush hour traffic- it's sprinkling here and if it's raining there everyone will be driving slower. ugh!

Hope I can get online at HOJO's- otherwise I guess I'll see you all on the cruise! LOL If I can get online there at HOJO's then I'll talk to you later tonight.

We have 8 checked bags for the 4 of us. Not finished with the carryons yet.

Oh, wow. I don't feel so bad now. Or, maybe I should say, I shouldn't let DH make me feel so bad for having 6 bags. He was hoping we could manage with 5. I think he's just worried about how we're going to manage all those bags plus the kids, stroller, etc. and also how we're going to get everything and everybody in our minivan. Truth be told, I'm a little worried myself.

Dont feel bad..for the 3 of us we have 6 bags plus 3 carryons...unforunately, 2 of the suitcases are FE/SM gifts only. I tried to figure out if I could just put them on in a box but am getting conflicting versions on if the porters will take the box or not so we thougt we will take suitcases to be sure.

I know I will get there and they will be taking boxes (so all of you can thank me now since I opted to do it the other way!) but if I brought a box..I would have to lug it with everything else.

ohhh, please share!! Hopefully it will make me feel better....

I'm beginning to feel better too. As I mentioned, we are bringing 5 normal sized checked bags plus 5 carryon size suitcases but will check them all anyway. We have two collapsable bags just in case we end up with more on the return trip.

Cruise Question:

I have completed the online check-in, so does that mean I do not need to bring anything out of the paper documents we received in the mail? I know the luggage tags are in there and that should be all I need, correct? TIA

That's my understanding. Don't forget to bring the signed DCL Cruise Contract Signature page that you can print out once the on-line check-in is complete. I'm bringing that plus the Payment Authorization form that I printed off the DCL website.

So here's what we did today! We decided to extend our trip and stay at WDW for a few days. Now we'll still be on vacation for our anniversary $28 total to change our SW flight and Annual Passholder rate for the room.

How fun. Congrats and enjoy the stay!!

DCL told me no..others have posted yes..others have posted no...I too am out of suitcases..We are using my duffle bag from GS (3 ft long) and put a ton of clothes in there and once the FE gifts are gone..should have room for the clothes in the suitcases..then fold up the duffle or atleast less stuff in the duffle. I didn't want to take a chance since besides the carry ons..my mom will be in a wheel chair which has to be pushed..a walker, the 3 carry ones and the lanyards (plus a few backpacks)

I am overwhelmed!

I'm checking ebay for a pack mule at this point. We will be definitely in similiar situation. Too much luggage, boxes, mom with walker, wheelchair shared with my mom & parker (hopefully both not needing it at the same time!) and all our carry on's! YIKES

Certainly hope they'll take a box because my FE gifts are still in the box that they were shipped to me in. If not, I'm in trouble. I'll have the packing slip so maybe that will help?

I had 3 Visa giftcards from various rebates and such. I called DCL and had them added on to my shipboard account. So when I board, I've already got those credits to use, in addition to TA and Disney Visa credits. I could have waited and done it onboard, but this way I don't have to worry about losing the Visa cards.

You have an onboard account where all of your charges will go (alcohol, photos, excursions, etc.). If you want to put a payment on that account in advance, it would go in as a credit - an onboard credit.

I just checked with DCL and was told that as long as it is not in addition to your luggage allowance (2 per person), you can check a box (but it can't have animals, weapons, liquids or anything prohibited).

Has this happened before? Just kidding

dang..."marks animals and liquids off list", but we have to bring our pirate weapons!!

So..the mail comes today and there is Mickey Mail..I didn't know there was going to be Mickey mail..they told me I didn't need anything additional to get from the ship to WDW...but today arrives luggae tags and a voucher to get us on the bus!

They have the wrong name for my DD...and now I am on hold (again!)

So..after waiting 15 minutes on hold..i find out that we got these by default and they are not needed (somehow they had us arriving at MCO and going to the resort?

I really need the head banging against the wall icon but this will have to do.

Funny thing is, I got mickey mail today too with our ME luggage tags & book inside. I better go back and re-read it all to check the names & stuff.

I hung up with DCL just a bit ago regarding the use of a nebulizer! For anybody interested...no they do not have one to use onboard and recommend bringing your own or can recommend a DME company to get one thru.

Where am I going to make that fit???

So DS did have a sinus infection. We got a prescription for 10 days of Omnicef. I'm hoping it won't be a problem taking it on the plane, but at least I had her prescribe one that doesn't need to be refrigerated since I figure it will probably be 10+ hours between when we leave our house on Saturday morning and check into the hotel in San Pedro.

And our new wheeled duffle arrived from Eddie Bauer today. Now I'm in total packing denial. I guess I'll start tomorrow, but I really wish the packing fairy would just show up. Pretty please!!

Just check the info on the slips..since we are are not going straight to the airport..we won't need the vouchers per Disney..I am just frustrated with DCL for leaving me on hold for 15 minutes to tell me that i don't need them (I'm still packing them tho..never know!). This is after I have spent over an hour on the phone for a mix-up on DCL part about our VR...we won't go there..just suffice to say that they got confused on some info they asked for and I provided and then they didn't know what to do with it

I know I am in trouble when I am starting to question myself if I actually want to go Sunday seems easier to stay home.

I know everything will be great and will work out..I just feel like I am running a marathon to get to the ship (I know there are lots of people with the same feeling!)

Congrats on your WDW post trip. I'm jealous. I am thinking about bringing my annual passes just to drop by and put my foot in MK.

I didn't know how grateful I would be to be flying SW this trip when I booked it. It is taking much of the stress away...and allowing me the opportunity to not have to do laundry while on this trip.

Who would think that SW is one of the best airlines now!!!

With all the luggage everyone is said to be taking, I am very worried the MAGIC is going to sink, and talking about that I bet a few of you are taking the kitchen sink with you!

Last repo was the same, and it took ages to get off the ship as so many People took small cases off with them and the gangway was crowed and the luggage area very crowded.

The also brought forward the last suitcase time on last night from 12 midnight to 10pm, in view of the luggage brought on at LA.

I brought laundry room sink too!!

Got my docs for the 5-day - I'm legal now!

Also, am going to pick up my FE gifts now, I'm so excited!

Along with my Mickey mail..I got a claim form from an atty..seems my previous employer has a class action suit going against them (I don't understand what the person filed something to do with lack of breaks ..very confusing...but...it was filed) and it seems that we are getting a check in Oct...I have a choice..sign my name and get a check or sign I don't want the check...it says they won't retaliate if I ever try and go back..decisions..decisions...

5 suitcases are in the back of the van...weighing 35-46 pounds. The garment bag is ready too just waiting to see if we will end up packing DH's shoes in there like he has in the past. The last suitcase is half full of basic esencials for the four of us and I am at a roadblock trying to decide if I want to just load up the other half with the rest of them and pack our shoes in a carryon.

DH just called to say he won't be home until after 9 trying to finish everything up at work before we leave. I had to give the kids their new DS games that I had put away for the plane ride because they were driving me nuts and I wasn't able to get anything done. Now most of the office floor is back in sight so progress is being made.

Part of me wishes that DD hadn't gotten better so quickly. She is making up for the time she wasn't a PIA yesterday today.

Hi everybody............just dropping in to say Hi! I know a lot of folks are leaving or getting ready to leave - safe travels to everyone! I am wrapping up what I need to get done here.

The house is almost clean, will finish it up tonight. The clothes are all laid out, just need to finish packing them. I really am trying to keep the luggage at a minimum, for the 4 of us I am hoping 6 checked pieces plus DD and DS have backpacks and DH has a computer & camera and I have a small bag to carry on. We have packed an extra canvas bag in case we need it on the way home. Now I just have to make it all fit, I know I can do it!

Tomorrow, DD has horseback riding, then a play date at the pool with a friend. While she is there I will go get my much needed and deserved pedicure. DS is with a friend spending the night tonight, he will be home at 2pm tomorrow. In the afternoon I will finish packing and then deliver the dog and guinea pig goodies to their temporary homes. By dinnertime tomorrow, I hope to ba all done. Would like to get to bed by 8 or 9 since we all have to get up by 4am to leave here at 4:30am for our flight. We get to Atlanta by 8am and we are there until 12:23 - we will be ready for a nap by the time our flight to LA starts which is good!
