Oh, wow. I don't feel so bad now. Or, maybe I should say, I shouldn't let DH make me feel so bad for having 6 bags. He was hoping we could manage with 5. I think he's just worried about how we're going to manage all those bags plus the kids, stroller, etc. and also how we're going to get everything and everybody in our minivan. Truth be told, I'm a little worried myself.

Dont feel bad..for the 3 of us we have 6 bags plus 3 carryons...unforunately, 2 of the suitcases are FE/SM gifts only. I tried to figure out if I could just put them on in a box but am getting conflicting versions on if the porters will take the box or not so we thougt we will take suitcases to be sure.

I know I will get there and they will be taking boxes (so all of you can thank me now since I opted to do it the other way!) but if I brought a box..I would have to lug it with everything else.

The weather is beautiful today again, but we are warming up mid to late week. Plan on mid 80's and nice cool & comfortable evenings!

Yippee, we have about an hour before our train departs for our 42 hour journey to Los Angeles. I can't wait to meet everyone! See you soon...

There is no reason that they can't do this for you now, but I thought this was a great opportunity to remind everyone that changes to transfers need to be done no sooner than 3 days prior to the cruise. I know they can add the onboard credits after this date, but it is certainly easier and safer to do it before.

what exactly does it mean to ADD onboard credits? I'm not getting this one.

We have 8 suitcases weighing between 47 and 49 pounds each, plus 2 garment bags that we had to body slam to get closed. Door magnets, Pirate Navigators, kids journals, etc are still going in the side pockets of those. Then we have 4 or 5 carryons. We'll be tipping our porter well and it will definitely be worth it!

I've been trying to figure out the "box" thing too. I'm just flat running out of suitcases and room in them at this point and don't want to buy anymore. I was hoping I could bring 2 medium size boxes that have our FE's, candy gifts and misc "stuff". If you find out any exact details, please post.

DCL told me no..others have posted yes..others have posted no...I too am out of suitcases..We are using my duffle bag from GS (3 ft long) and put a ton of clothes in there and once the FE gifts are gone..should have room for the clothes in the suitcases..then fold up the duffle or atleast less stuff in the duffle. I didn't want to take a chance since besides the carry ons..my mom will be in a wheel chair which has to be pushed..a walker, the 3 carry ones and the lanyards (plus a few backpacks)

I am overwhelmed!

Thanks...June called and found costumes for the boys. They finally talked me into joining in as well...Even last night I wasn't going to dress up, but after the kids insistence on joinin in, I came along kicking and screaming! So there are now 4 more pirates for the 29th..

OMGosh!!!! Where are you going to store all of those suitcases in your staterooms????
We haven't started packing yet but, I'm counting on 1 suitcase per person & a carryon per person........ We can take more if we have to but, I really hope we don't! LOL!

I haven't travelled on Amtrak since making a trek from Kansas City to New Mexico to go to Philmont Scout ranch back in 1983. I wonder if it's changed much since then.

True, we have a "full size" bag for each of us plus a carry-on size bag but we plan to take FULL advantage of Southwest's policy and check it all!

My youngest brother -- although he is still probably older then you! went to Philmont!!! My brother graduated HS in 1984 so, he is.....42?

I had 3 Visa giftcards from various rebates and such. I called DCL and had them added on to my shipboard account. So when I board, I've already got those credits to use, in addition to TA and Disney Visa credits. I could have waited and done it onboard, but this way I don't have to worry about losing the Visa cards.

Good grief!!!

Now the whole family has to go to the doctor. In addition to tomorrow's appointments for DS and I, I'm on my way out to take our dog to the vet. Finally got around to making an appointment for him at the kennel and he needs a Bordetella shot. He's never been boarded before. Thankfully the vet was able to get him in this afternoon.

Oh, and it's not like I waited until the complete last minute. He's not being boarded until the end of the month. He's staying with my mom until then but she'll be out of town for Labor Day.

I have completed the online check-in, so does that mean I do not need to bring anything out of the paper documents we received in the mail? I know the luggage tags are in there and that should be all I need, correct? TIA

You have an onboard account where all of your charges will go (alcohol, photos, excursions, etc.). If you want to put a payment on that account in advance, it would go in as a credit - an onboard credit.

I have a 7yr old girl child that is crying an dbeside herself because I won't pack yet.....we don't leave until Sunday morning..... I told her I had plenty of time....she informed me I only had 5 more days to have everything packed!

I just received this email from dh ---
Got our stuff sent UPS. Hope it gets there or our first stop in Cabo we will be looking for the Wal-Mart.

I have the tracking number in my wallet and Matt has it set up for email notification so I can check it on my phone.

He knows that i will have a HUGE panic attack if the box doesn't arrive in time...... ALL of our FE girts are in there -- I bought them over a year ago and am really excited about them!!! Plus the nearly $100 worth of sunblock...... and a bunch of other junk.

So..the mail comes today and there is Mickey Mail..I didn't know there was going to be Mickey mail..they told me I didn't need anything additional to get from the ship to WDW...but today arrives luggae tags and a voucher to get us on the bus!

They have the wrong name for my DD...and now I am on hold (again!)

So..after waiting 15 minutes on hold..i find out that we got these by default and they are not needed (somehow they had us arriving at MCO and going to the resort?

I really need the head banging against the wall icon but this will have to do.

So here's what we did today! We decided to extend our trip and stay at WDW for a few days. Now we'll still be on vacation for our anniversary $28 total to change our SW flight and Annual Passholder rate for the room.

They didn't cancel all the reservations all at once, but as some did get cancelled some folks were able to pick them up. I think it's just a matter of checking several times a day every day.


When I log into my reservation or my cruise plans, there is some text in red in the middle of the page

Because your travel party has 5 or more linked staterooms, you must reserve cruise activities one stateroom at a time. Click "Retrieve Another Reservation" to reserve cruise activities for a different stateroom in your travel party.

I saw the posts and kept watching and never saw anything for Brunch. Though we probably got dinner at that time.

But, I bet you don't have a stroller, a full-size car seat, and a booster seat! We are planning on doing laundry 2-3 times also. Guess that's why I thought we wouldn't have quite as many bags as we do. Aren't you glad we're on SW?

We do!! Well no car seat, but we have a stroller and backpack/carrier.

I didn't know how grateful I would be to be flying SW this trip when I booked it. It is taking much of the stress away...and allowing me the opportunity to not have to do laundry while on this trip.

Yup! Normally we hate SW and avoid them... But they were the cheapest by a LOT when we booked! Good thing we used them because of our flight change today

Along with my Mickey mail..I got a claim form from an atty..seems my previous employer has a class action suit going against them (I don't understand what the person filed something to do with lack of breaks ..very confusing...but...it was filed) and it seems that we are getting a check in Oct...I have a choice..sign my name and get a check or sign I don't want the check...it says they won't retaliate if I ever try and go back..decisions..decisions...
