I just wanted to show everyone how talented our Little Miss Chrissie is with her artistic talent. She made this for me:hug:  and I will be hanging it on my Mickey Wall in the kitchen. No time to have John make a frame or mount it before TOAL.

I tried resizing but alas my photobucket will not work.

Thank You Chrissie!!!

Wow, I am impressed. It looks awesome, she did a great job!

In a slight panic right now. I have looked all over and I can't find my Disney Rewards Card. I ordered last month and just transferred my latest points over. Went looking for the card to put it in with the cruise documents, but it is no where to be found. Not on the catch all dining room table, not on the shelf with all the other various gift cards, not in any of my purses, not in my wallet, not with my cruise docs. Not sure where else to look.
Oh no, I hope you find it! I know I set ours in a special place so that I would not misplace it since it will go towards a portion of paying our tips....have to have it. Now I am hoping it will be in the same spot I left it.
Maybe on the lucky day of 08 08 08 it will appear! (Not being sarcastic, just maybe a lucky day will help.)

BBB I feel your pain . . .LOL . .Having travelled all over with two small kids (even as babies), I know how challenging it can be. I must say that my SIL has it down the best. She ships EVERYTHING except bare essentials on ahead to the hotel and then stops at a UPS store and sends it all right back! Her oldest is just starting 3rd grade so the kids' clothes are still pretty small.

This trip, I'm shipping all our snorkeling equipment and anything else I can fit in the box so we won't have to pay for another extra bag. I'm trying to find the heaviest articles and ship them. Cool thing about UPS is you can track it all the way.

If shipping isn't the answer for you, I will share that the kids can be trained to drag their bags from a young age. The trick is finding bags that work for their size. At 9 yo, my DS9 was petite for his age. Grandma gave him a new roller duffle with his initials on it. Unfortunately, Grandma didn't purchase the bag I recommended (from LL Bean) and bought a very inexpensive version. DS9 could barely walk without kicking the rolling bag or it getting stuck on something. ( did I mention this bag completely disintegrated after ONE trip!). For this trip, we've bought the rolling duffles from LL Bean. They're easier for DS (now 11) to pull b/c the handle extends further. So I said all that to say . . .give a few diffferent bags a try and see what works for your younger kids. If it's easy for them to pull they'll just fly along with you through the crowded airport :)

See you soon!

Ok, I am confused everyone. Doesn't the cost of shipping big, heavy boxes cost about the same as the $25 fee for the extra bag?
I would like to do this if it is more affordable, but I can see it racking up a cost for me as much as doing an extra bag, and I don't think it would be that heavy either. :headache:

So, what else did she put in her "grass juice", Tina? :hippie:

Did she make "special brownies", too?

Oh, good heavens no! LOL! My parents were "Depression Babies." very straight laced and old fashioned. Believe me! Not that that was a bad thing. Back when I was 4 or 5 we never would of thought of that! :confused3

I put mine away in the safety deposit box.........after I was looking for over two days. I went to the bank and there it was!!! :worship: Just breathe and relax. :flower3: It will come back to where you put for safe keeping.

ITA! :thumbsup2
J.R., I don't think there are many people who would have done what you did for a group you (unfortunately) won't even be travelling with. Thanks so much to you as well!

Mya I be the second one to say we all appriciate what you have done for all of us. :thumbsup2 I will even have a drink for you or better yet....stop over when we get back.:rolleyes1

8

The Chinese have a lucky number its '8'.

Hence they start the Olympics this Friday on

08 08 08,

and in fact they start local time at 8pm.

As They believe in this so much.

I wish to say I adopt 8 as the lucky number for our cruise.

Have a lucky cruise, and if you play bingo get 8 cards

Partly it's to save hassle. But part of the trick is to ship small heavy boxes. For example: I'm shipping about 12 pounds of books, FE gifts and other heavy stuff in a USPS flat rate box for about $13. That should get me nicely under the 50 pound limit.

ATTENTION ATTENTION

I have a pre-cruise/CA hotel question. I know that it has been discussed before, but when sending a package to one of the DL hotels, what do you include on the outside? Name, Ressie #, dates of arrival/stay... anything else? Since we will be there starting the 14th when would be the best date to send it off? Who would you use? PO, UPS, Fedex?

Also, I would like to thank all my fellow pirates for all their hard work in organizing, planning and everything else you have done/are doing to make this a truly magical vacation.

Hi folks - busy day at the office, so I am just skimming the posts to try and keep up!

Luggage: Not to worry anyone, but I heard a report a couple months ago that a higher percentage of Curb-side Check-in luggage is lost than is regular check-in.

Rewards card: Monica - hopefully, it will turn up. Take a little break and let yourself calm down and then look again (even in places you KNOW you looked ;) ) and you will find it. DH & I always wait until just before the trip to transfer the points and then we only do it with the card in hand. We are talking about only putting 1/2 the points on right now and doing the rest from the internet connection at the HoJo on the evening of the 16th.

When DD turned 2 we switched her from full fat milk to semi skimmed. Shortly after she developed diarrhoea. Apparently not enough fat in the diet can cause "toddler diarrhoea". Switched her back to full fat milk - problem gone! She's now 3, but I haven't got the courage to try swapping again

Celestine

Interesting... We're still on formula for the most part, so I would think that she would get enough fat from that... Maybe I should start doing the milkshakes made with heavy cream for her that the pediatrician recommended! :lmao:

DS had the anitbiotics last cruise, three times a day (ear infection) for the entire cruise. Time before that broken arm in a waterproof cast,.....
But on the whole, these are things we deal with right? Count our blessings. :wizard:

Well not everyone deals with this... Many people think it's too much trouble to do any kind of traveling! We, on the other hand, think that we only live once! If we have to bring feeding/medical supplies, 119 diapers, etc, etc, etc, that's fine. As long as she is with us we're happy... Especially after everything she's been through.

Oh man, I always do that! Put something important in a safe place, then forget what the safe place was... It always turns up though!

Yeah probably costs about the same... But isn't that more reliable than the airlines these days? :confused3 Personally I've never shipped anything home, except from Australia and New Zealand :)

how is everyone? You all getting excited, not much longer. Just sitting waiting for my car to be done getting a oil change and on the dis boards. Trying to keep up. Hope everyone is ok health wise. Just trying to get odds and ends done. Can't wait to see all of you. I am so bored.

Take care, (see you soon):cool1:

I've heard that too! Guess that's why I never trusted the curbside checkin... Plus I never wanted to tip!

We never trust hotel internet connections... If we use them at all, we don't check any of our financial info on them. DH is a software engineer...

I just feel waiting inline with an autograph book for Granddaughter would be a little silly.:rolleyes1 Maybe I better go shop for a pillowcase.:thumbsup2

I thought you did that on the 10nt....:confused3 Didn't I run into you after you had just got back onboard with your pillowcase and you were taking it to GS?

Is it the Tide stick ? I haven't tried any yet. Do they work? It is a man thing. Sorry guys. Can't they just go a couple of hours without any mis-haps?:rotfl2:

I love tide pens. Can't get them in the UK & it is #1 on my list of supplies to buy when we get to LA

Well, if you're so inclined to this way of thinking/belief, pray to St. Anthony. Oddly enough, it does work. Say this three times:

St. Anthony, St. Anthony
Please come around
Something has been lost that cannot be found.

I hope you find that Rewards Card!

Or, the classic prayer from the St. Anthony novena:

"The sea obeys and fetters break
and lifeless limbs though dost restore.
While treasures lost are found again
when young and old thine aid implore."

Has a kind of classic pirates of the sea "feel" to it . . . so appropriate for our cruise. To the locker we go!!! :thumbsup2

DH will do it, but by a roundabout method. He uses the internet connection at the hotel to make a secure connection to his office and then does another internet connection there (going through his own firewall) to login to the bank. It probably isn't perfect, but he feels that it is secure enough and since he is pretty paranoid, I feel OK about it :lmao:
