We always fly with "5 For $5.95" Arbys. Never had a problem.
do you buy these BEFORE you enter the terminal?
i guess i'm so confused on what is allowed/disallowed now. i thought any kind of food at all was banned. so, we are allowed to take certain things on the flight with us? we are leaving at 530 am from buffalo next weekend. i know that noone will want to eat at that time in the morning. i dont think our layover is all that much, and i'm worried about being able to get to a counter to grab the kids some breakfast. if they dont' have something to eat at that point, they won't eat til we get to cali!! seems a bit long...but if we had snacks or i could pack a bagel, that wouldn't seem so bad.

QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CRUISED DCL WITH A PASSPORT BEFORE....

Now that we have gone and spent all the money for a passport I want to get the stamps in it when we go somewhere. I think that I read on the main board that you need to drop your PP off at guest services to have them do this. Is this right or is there something else you need to do. TIA!

glad you asked this, cuz i'm interested as well. i see there were diff answers posted already, so i guess we'll have to just wait and see.

ATTENTION!

Repeat:
All print goods will be available for you ta download and print yerself. Please add this to yer list of things to do before ya shove off!

are these all on the pirate zone? is that where i'll find them? thanks!
ok...i was looking and i think i'm blind. where do i go to find the stuff that needs to be printed? is it on the discussions board or the other board? sorry!!

Happy Anniversary Arlene and Rich!!

Well I feel a lot better about the clothes situation. I brought up Roger's clothes spreadsheet (Thanks Roger!!) on the tablet PC and brought it to the girls bedrooms.
My Mom and I spent 2 hours making the girls try on every outfit they were going to bring. I was so happy that all that shopping paid off because I truly think we will not have to do laundry. There was more than enough clothes for them to wear for 2 weeks. Yay!! Bill said we might need to do an undergarmet load but that will be easy. Could even wash in the sink.
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Last night was a slight over indulgence of margaritas. All of my neighbors met at the pool on our street and since DH is the president of the HOA, we had the key to the kitchen and we set up quite the margarita making assembly line. I was surprised to see my neighbors in church this morning but we all made it.

That is an interesting question that I would like to have an answer to as well. We have the 2:30 slot and were planning on spending the entire morning in Cabo and end up at the dolphin center which you are correct is right at the marina where the tender will drop you off.

Has anyone had experience with this? TIA

Michelle

Yes you will be able to meet them at the dock but you need to let them know onboard that you will be doing this so they aren't waiting for you at the meeting spot on the ship

i just finished printing out the postcards! i can now check that off the list. we also bought the FE gifts last nite...so another thing checked off! woohoo!! now, if i can only get started with some packing!!
it would help too if i would get my docs! keeping fingers crossed that the ta gets them tomorrow!

I was just reading a post about the temperature in staterooms. Honestly, I don't remember, but how much can you control the temperature? We don't have a verandah, so, opening the doors is not an option :)
We didn't have a verandah but we didn't notice the temperature changing anything "noticably" no matter how hard we tried to make it cooler. LOL

YIKES!!!! Never be gone over 24 hours from your computer around you guys! I have 25 pages to ketchup on! :scared:
Amen to that.... I'm so far behind! I'm working BACKWARDS just trying to find my last post, since searching my own posts doesn't work here (ever)

Well that is clear as mud (or peanut butter).
I'm not bringing a jar of peanut butter. I want to bring a few sandwiches. I'm not real excited about $12 airport sandwiches.

But good to know it is safe to fly with spray cheese. :thumbsup2
:rotfl2:
spray cheese. Hmm I haven't had that in AGES but that and some crackers might be a good idea for me and the kids. LOL We're going to arrive late and no rental car and not going to DL the first night (even though apparently it's open till midnight)- so we might be starving when we go to bed that night! I checked Mimi's cafe online (resturant near HoJo's) and it's EXPENSIVE just for hamburgers and stuff. :(

Crash .. . you totally ROCK! Thanks for sharing the great info. :thanks: Looks like we're headed to DL and not CA then. .. Can't believe the parks are open from 8 AM until Midnight! Phew. .. I'll need the cruise to recover . . .LOL
Wow I didn't know they were open until midnight! Ditto on that- needing cruise to recover. LOL

For what it's worth, I routinely travel with breakfast bars or granola bars. Never had any trouble.

OK...

We're back from a swim at the pool and getting ready now to
host the initial meeting for AYSO families. Alicia is coach for Juliannas' team and
Assisstant coach for Kaleas' team. I'm waiting to see if anything else needs to be covered before I volunteer for anything.
Otherwise, I'm hoping to serve as team photographer to make photo DVDs and so on for the families!

We have never been denied taking food on board any flight we have ever been on since the stricter TSA rules were implemented. Maybe it's just the San Diego airport, but we fly as a family at least five times a year and my DH flies twice a month and has never had a problem. I always pack bagels and snacks in my carryon as that seems to be a good filler for our DSs any time of the day!

oohh...ok! i thought i must have missed it! thanks!!!

thanks for letting me know. we will def be bringing some cereal bars at least. i was worried about the money we would be spending at the airport...now maybe it won't be so bad!

Traffic is worse there because they drive on the SHOULDER of the highway during rush hour! :scared1: It is like driving North Dallas during rush hour or Houston! :scared1:

LOL! about the long drives! Everything that my children are involved in is at least 30 - 40 mins from our house (and that is during *non* rush hour times! and is highway alot of the time). When my older children attended *regular* school (before we started homeschooling) their school was a good 50min drive, if there was no traffic, and that was in the same city as I lived. :rotfl:
LOL Yeah that's why I said couldn't be worse than driving Dallas in rush hour.....

Yeppers... if you drive anywhere it's pretty much guaranteed a long drive- in Texas. LOL Too bad DL isn't in Texas instead of Six Flags, huh? :rotfl:

Hi everybody!! OMG just 10 more sleeps until we leave here for CA! I was in trip mode today and shopping too:yay: Its tax free weekend here in VA so I saved a bit of $$ by shopping today :woohoo: Got some great deals at Kohls on school clothes and clothes for DH and I but the best was at JCPenneys where I got 4 pair of jeans and 3 nice polos for DS12 and only spent $80 :yay:

I have a question and I know its been discussed on here before but I just want to clarify........DS is growing and has pretty much grown out of all his nicer dockers. He has one pair of khaki pants & 1 pair casual dress pants and one nice pair of dress pants. I plan to bring all three but since he is so adamant about NOT dressing up (except for formal and semi formal nights), he wants to wear his nice jeans to dinner on some nights during the cruise. I figurede on pirate night it would be acceptable but what about other nights? It seems I read on here that jeans are now acceptable on casual dining nights. Can anyone confirm this for me? He would be so much happier and so would DH and I since then we won't have to push him to "dress up" every night.

From what I've read on this board- people wear jeans all the time. I didn't really notice it on our last cruise but then again I wasn't really paying attention to what everyone else was wearing. I only noticed what ONE person was wearing ONE time- and that's because it was a grown man in shorts and my DH pointed it out to me. I gave him the same line we give our kids all the time- I don't care what HE'S doing, that doesn't mean YOU'RE doing it. LOL

Honestly though- it sounds like any night is fine to wear jeans from what I've read- except maybe semi-formal/formal nights. And some nights are more casual than others too- like pirate night- and what about mexican deck party night? are we having tropical night too? And one night we're all wearing Mickey Mouse Club TEE SHIRTS..... so I highly doubt that he'd be out of place in jeans. ;)

I wuz just skimming some photo folders and ran across these from last month when we were in San Francisco. We we shopping and can you guess which 3 outfits below Alicia bought on deep disocunt at Macys' flagship store? I think she averaged over 75%-85% off the regular price considering the extra 11% off coupon she had for being an out-of-town visitor... puls she combined another coupon she dug up somewhere.

OK... we gotta go run the AYSO soccer team meeting now...

We're from NY, so we've flown from JFK, Newark, La Guardia, and Westchester County Airport multiple times post 9/11 and post new guidlines. We have gone onboard with bagels with cream cheese, rolls with various coldcuts, bags of chips, packets of fruit snacks, lollipops, gum, m&ms, you name it, we've brought it, minus drinks and stuff, leaving from the NY/NJ airports and were never stopped. It is in my opinion that the NY/NJ aiports are pretty relaxed about security, which I find ironic considering that's where all the problems started.

Aaaaanyway, we've also left from the Orlando airport with 25-29 lbs. of candy (we were going home from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) and a big Ziploc bag of Snickerdoodles (Very Merry Christmas Party), one of those Mickey Candy Cakes from the WDW Florist (my birthday), and were never stopped, just a few "Whoa, look at all that candy/cookies/candy!" from the employees. And, I have found security at MCO to be way stricter than in NY, go figure.

So, sandwiches, snacks, and the like should be fine.

Just a quick stop by...I am packing  So far so good..all of Tori's and my clothes (not counting formals/semi formals) fit into 2 suitcases with some room left over!

DH says he just needs one suitcase. So with our suiter and toiletries bag...5 suitcases. Not bad...OF course..I still have to pack up FE and SM gifts....wish I knew if the porters would actually take a box or not..would cut down on the suitcases.

We shall see what happens when I get done.

Thanks interesting, I have read of people doing it somehow, and hey have posted it on the main board, maybe they took them into the port and asked.

I won't take the word of the DCL 800# reps for this. They are so wrong about so many things. How many of them have passports anyway?

I don't know how all you people do it who are finished packing. I'll have to do my laundry the day before I leave so that I can pack up what I am taking with me.

But, hey, I'm happy for you! :cool2:

Me too - I have some new stuff that we are taking and plan on packing that this week but the rest will be packed a couple of days before we leave
