Is there a way to confirm that we are part of the linked dining? I thought I recalled it being mentioned a few weeks ago that you would see everyone's name on your reservation on the DCL webside. Ours does not show that.

Cheryl do you know or can someone else answer as well?

Thanks!

hi! no, i'm not from buffalo, but my bro is. we will be going to spend some time with him before we fly out. we are from waverly, which is a few hours away from buffalo. which suburb are you in?

Oh okay. Actually, I am now in Tennessee, but I lived in Orchard Park until college.

What are we in for......?

DD went to a friends birthday party today at a build a bear place. The kids had the option of building bear (which she'd done for her birthday back in May) or take home a Webkinz. She came home with a Webkinz.

Welcome to Webkinz World Andy :rotfl:

Make sure that Sarah has own computer or you will never be able to get on yours. :lmao:

Anyone have any good book recommendations for the trip? I'm not into books that are part of a series (except Harry Potter of course). Something light and fun would be ideal.

Uh :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: not really. He runs two restaurants Lisa.

Work in the hotel would need a kitchen and air mail.

It's been a while since the geek cruise...forgot. :) He needs to just let it go and put his faith in his assistant managers.

do you buy these BEFORE you enter the terminal?
i guess i'm so confused on what is allowed/disallowed now. i thought any kind of food at all was banned. so, we are allowed to take certain things on the flight with us? we are leaving at 530 am from buffalo next weekend. i know that noone will want to eat at that time in the morning. i dont think our layover is all that much, and i'm worried about being able to get to a counter to grab the kids some breakfast. if they dont' have something to eat at that point, they won't eat til we get to cali!! seems a bit long...but if we had snacks or i could pack a bagel, that wouldn't seem so bad.

We have never been denied taking food on board any flight we have ever been on since the stricter TSA rules were implemented. Maybe it's just the San Diego airport, but we fly as a family at least five times a year and my DH flies twice a month and has never had a problem. I always pack bagels and snacks in my carryon as that seems to be a good filler for our DSs any time of the day!
As others have said, I always take snacks on flights with me. I've never had a problem carrying any kind of food on. Of course, don't' forget to get a water or something to drink once you're through security. Or bring a water bottle to fill from a drinking fountain.

Guess what though.... WHen i went to book DD's ticket, i found out that the seat next to mine was taken...(the aisle) I had to put DD in the middle seat across the aisle from us. I figure if i just suck up to the person maybe they will switch with her. (ahhhh either that or we keep passing stuff back and forth to each other until they switch out of shear fustration.)

Or at least i won't have to listen to her ipod.:rotfl:

Hmmm...I can only hope for DD not to be sitting next to us on the plane. :headache: She is really pushing it and seems to be practicing for those ST days. At the rate she is going, she might not be around to get on the plane. OY! :sad2:

You won't know for sure until the night before when you get the next days Navigator.
Now when we did the 10nt Disney let us know ahead of time the *schedule* for the dinners and I planned accordingly! LOL! We had Tropical night then, too.

That is what we are going to do. I will have each of the theme nights hanging together in the closet and will put them out for everyone when it is announced in the navigator. :)

still just can't believe we are at under a week til we leave!!!! yikes! where has the time gone???

Under a week! :scared1: When do you leave? We leave the 12th and that seems stressful enough.

I'm taking Jimmy Buffett's Tales from Margaritaville. Haven't read it, so can't recommend it yet but I was looking for something light and fun as well. What better than short stories from the King of Somewhere Hot!

We can't really do that on Southwest. It would be a little too obvious! :lmao:

I just finished packing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3: :yay: :dance3: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I matched up a bunch of outfits today and got almost everything into 1 suitcase. I'll go back through and weed it out again in a day or two. Bringing 2 pairs of slacks(1 black,1 white) and a pair of jeans, tops to mix and match all 3. 3 dresses(not including formal and semi formal). 4 or 5 pairs of shorts,2 prs. dress shoes,1 pr dressy sandals,1 pr flip flops and 1 pair tenny runners.

QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CRUISED DCL WITH A PASSPORT BEFORE....

Now that we have gone and spent all the money for a passport I want to get the stamps in it when we go somewhere. I think that I read on the main board that you need to drop your PP off at guest services to have them do this. Is this right or is there something else you need to do. TIA!

I'd like to know the answer to this one too!

When we cruised in March 2007, we did take our passports to Guest Services (probably the first or second day) and we left them there until the last night of the cruise. They were stamped in the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas. I guess they missed Mexico. I can't remember if we picked them up the last night or if they were delivered to us (I'm thinking we picked them up...). I was a little worried about leaving them there all week, but they did give us a Passport Receipt Form with our name and cabin numbers when we left them. I was hoping to do the same thing this time.

For those of you who buy pictures from shutters, how do you travel with them home so they don't bend? I'm wondering how we can bring back pictures from the Dolphin excursion and the litho we might get :)
Also, does someone have a link to the price list for packages from shutters? Last time we only bought one picture.

This has most likely been answered but,I usually bring a large manilla envelope that has the bubble wrap inside.

The information I was given is the following (of course subject to change) ;)

Formal nights - days 2 and 14 - at sea days (Aug 18 and 30)
Night 14 is the Ballroom under the stars night

Mexican deck party - day 6 - Acapulco (Aug 22)
Semi Formal - day 8 - at sea (Aug 24)
Tropical night - day 10 - Cartagena (Aug 26)
Pirate night - day 13 - at sea (Aug 29)

I was looking at the spreadsheep that Pamela posted on the Pirate Boards and she has Mousketeer Night for Early Dining listed on Aug 22, the same night as the Mexican Deck Party. Now I'm sure that there was some method used to guess what night Mouseketeer Night would be, but would they do this the same night as the Mexican Deck Party? If not, when would be the next-probable night for Mouseketeer Night?
