I thought it was just your KTTW card and a photo ID. I didn't plan on carrying our passports. However, I did make color copies just in case.

No it is just really 5 - 10 minutes... did it on the may 05 repo The fort and flea markets is nice..

I used to have to do field work outdoors in the woods. OMG i was on a couple sites where my co-worker and i stripped before we got back in the cars and we still were finding ticks three days later. Wetland areas were the worst.

I don't know how all you people do it who are finished packing. I'll have to do my laundry the day before I leave so that I can pack up what I am taking with me.

I'm with you Fr Mike! I don't have that many clothes & undergarments that I can pack 2 wks before I leave for a 3 wk long trip! LOL!
And I KNOW 10ds doesn't either! Now the girls probably do! LOL!

As it is I am going to Walmart to buy lots of cheap undie stuff for several of us for the trip -- they are having quite a sale this week!.

It realy isnt far, 5> 10 mins will do it. Its to short for a taxi.

The safest route is LEFT out of the ship/Port , then across the Dual road at the lights then turn RIGHT, as you walk up through shops and a busy road, if you go the route RIGHT out of the ship, it starts off nice as you walk around the promenade of the beach, but as you turn LEFT, you go through a couple of residential roads, and there are less people around, so not so safe.

Thanks. I think we'll try that route then. I'm not sure we'll go to the fort. We've seen quite a few forts and then we'll see the one in Cartagena. I think the best part about forts are their views most of the time

Yes, I know what you mean, the Acapulco fort, will give a great picture of the Magic.

Help help help!! Haven't been as active on these boards as I wanted...had a lot of very stressful time consuming things happen last few months. Well, now it all takes the cake.

1) DD9 starts limping really badly. Took her to docs, have xray done. She has a bone deformity called a coalition - a painful bone deformation. surgery is the cure. DH had his heart mitral valve repaired two years ago - we only had my mom and I as caregivers. Full open heart surgery. It was easily a full year recovery - full year of me bring in charge of all...Of course her surgery won't be so scary, but, hey, its my kid and I know I will further age 20 years in one year. At best, she can walk a lot, at worse, since we will delay surgery, she wil be in portable splint, or wheel chair. She is a completely active child, so it will behard for her!! Luckily, its not too painful if she stays off of it.

2) DS12 comes back from Scout Camp. Had a blast. Gotten bitten by a deer tick. Incubation time for Lyme disease symptoms beginning are now until a week after we board the ship. I am thinking of taking him to our doc and getting the meds now, and if he begins to get ill, have the doc on board monitor him. He could give me the go ahead to give the drug, couldn't he?

Any of you brilliant wonderful people personal experts on Lyme disease? What I have read, it looks like we are totally hosed. I THINK, tho, they got the tick off fast. Area where they were camping is one of the highest in the US for lyme disease...

So sorry about DD. Don't stress about DS - quick removal of the tick (under 36 hours) reduces the risk enormously. Even if it is Lyme, you won't be hosed. Seeing the doctor and getting the meds just in case isn't a bad idea. Otherwise, monitor closely for the symptoms. Caught early, it's totally curable.

Mrs. Scooby - thank you for the welcome. We are staying at flying into SNA on Thurs, Aug 14 and staying at DLH. We arranged for a car to take us to the port on Sun. morning since I need to board early to get Palo brunch and tea reservations. Hopefully, I can change our Palo dinner also as we are scheduled for 6:30 PM in Puerto Vallarta.
After the Palo reservations, I need to go to the excursions desk to see if we can get earlier times for the Dolphin Encounter in Cabo (currently 2:30 - 4 PM). Would also like to do the Historic Towns and Tequilla excursion in PV but we won't be back in time for Palo dinner. So we are currently on the Paradise Beach Village excursion in PV. We also have 4:00 PM facial (DH) and massage (me) appointments at Millenium Massage in the Marina area (the other location for the Krystal massages). Nothing planned for Acapulco yet although we are probably going to walk to the fort and outdoor markets.

Keep checking the Disney cruise website for the Cabo dolphins. I was able to change our time this week. We are now going at 9:45 I believe it is. I was afraid of being in the water at 2:30 if I couldn't use sunscreen. I know it won't be that much better in the morning, but it should help a little bit.

I could go for a greasy slice of NY pizza. It just isn't the same here.DH had a pizza store for a while and even tho he used the same ingredients as he did in NY the dough wasn't the same. It definitely is the water.

I'll be thinking of you around lunch time.

Virtually impossible to find a good NY pizza here in California. One local chain come tolerably close - Pizza My Heart. There's a chain called Red Brick Pizza that has a local place that comes pretty close, but I haven't tried it enough times to know if it's consistent.

Adults need their KTTW cards and picture ID. We always use our DLs for this. The kids only need their KTTW cards.

Yikes!!!, I've lost my home office to a hoard of invading postcards

Yesterday we went and bought 72 postcards for the Kids meet-n-greet. Last night I experimented printing DD's message on the back, both with the laser printer and the HP inkjet. Trouble is, the paper is shiny. The laser doesn't really work, and the inkjet takes forever to dry.

My home office is now home to 72 drying postcards - every horizontal surface is spoken for

That is why I went for stickers that DD had to put on the back of each card! Finnished & packed the last of them today, so very little else to do now until the last minute when all hell breaks loose!
