OK, off to my hair appointment...2 hours of colorin' and cuttin' enjoyment...:scared:

It ain't easy being beautiful. princess:

Umm, OK, really it ain't easy being acceptably average, which is about as high as I can aim.

I don't go until next Tuesday..( couldn't get in before))
I really hope that it goes well.. I tend to have a good cut, then a bad cut, a good cut , then a bad cut.. etc..

I am due for the bad cut this time.. so if you see a someone with purple hair and a bad cut .. that maybe me.. :confused3 I 'll see on tuesday night..

Put me in the group of NO HUGGERS.............my DD tests just came back and she has Mono.:sad2: I am hoping I don't come down with it. Her friend had it and oh spend the night didn't tell her for awhile. Ughhh

Anyone heard about Hernan tropical depression? It's 715 miles SW of Cabo. They expect it to turn into a hurricane. Nothing off of Africa but they had to mention all the thunderstorms inland that they need to keep an eye out for.

Just call me Downer Debbie.:rolleyes1
UGH! Soooo sorry! Luckily kids tend to bounce back...lets hope she does. Let her rest, rest, rest!!

Anybody else want to put their kids in a bubble until we leave??? I find myself asking people who call to invite the kids over, or to swim etc...."are you guys all healthy"? LOL Luckily they all know I'm overly paranoid because of DS15 who has medical challenges, so we always need to be careful!

OKAY . . . all these different banana pictures remind me of the reasons why I'm really afraid of meeting some of you! :lmao:

P.S. "Orange you glad I didn't say banana?!"

orange.jpg
You had to go there, didn't you??? :rotfl2:

Oh, they were so much fun to watch. The lizard in Aruba, the Acapulco pics, the ship pics, theme nights, the chocolate fountains, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo. Can't believe we get to go and see it all.
I also loved the ones at Castaway...their views from parasailling were amazing! And yes, the color of the lizards were cool too.

I just did that yesterday. Color is perfect, but she cut my bangs too short. :headache: That is something that cannot be changed until it grows out, and the trip is too close now :(
Here's hoping all goes well, I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Are you referring to the Soarin dash? I forgot which morning that was???

I go next Friday!! lol...she better not screw up! I have naturally curly hair that will most likely be a curly, humid mess the entire trip! I'm not even sure what to bring on this trip to tame it. I am going to have her cut it short, so its easy to wash & go...with a bit of cement gel!

M......since Judy isn't on the cruise anymore, do BIP and I get to be "kettle" and "pot"? :rotfl:
:lmao:

Checked with DD, she said that she wasn't sure about the shuffle. Her Nano can be charged on her iBook. She suggested you check on the apple.com help pages. If it can't, we'll have the separate charger with us (we each have an iPod and don't go anywhere without the charger) and you can charge it in our room.

If you think the shuffle is a pain, you should see my new iPod touch. It's going to take me a week to figure it out.

Barbara
Aw thanks!
We don't have a charger..... it just has the thing you stick it in then plug to computer to charge it that way. I got this for her back for her birthday but then decided not to give it to her at the time (long story why- grounded, grades dropping, etc.) but I told her about it recently because she was begging for one (she has an mp3 player that the batteries keep dying pretty quickly on it) and for some stupid reason I told her I'd get it ready to go for her to have it on the vacation. So that's why I'm just learning about the ins and outs of ipod shuffle and adding songs/etc. last minute like this. ;)

Latest cruise nightmare:

The first sea day ended up being a port day because we never left. And we weren't even on the ship. We had cabins out in the woods.

Spent the day shopping for all the stuff I forgot, but I don't know how I knew I forgot it because I hadn't unpacked!

Came back to the area where all the cabins were and there was a picnic table full of various cakes.

There was some comotion going on, went to check it out and Todd's family had just arrived, a day late. And Melissa was 7 months pregnant??? ((SORRY Todd and Melissa I have no idea where that came from. ))

My parents were on the trip (although they cancelled a long time ago) and all my dad did was sit around complaining about everything.

Finally realized it was 5:30, almost time for dinner, and since this was the first "sea" day, it was formal night. I needed my dress, but it was still packed in the trunk of the car.

As I was walking to the car I realized I missed the Kids Meet that I was supposed to be in charge of that morning.

Can't wait for next week....these dreams are killing me!
OMG I'm so glad I"m not having nightmares. I'm not sleeping much though- so that might be the reason. LOL

School day is still going on here...DD dragging today out for some reason! And we have a get-together for the library reading program as well as a meeting tonight.

Have not accomplished anything today since things are moving so slow.....

I am getting jealous as I see people are getting ready to leave on their trip..I want To leave! And then realize I am already here but not on vacation....well..kinda...it's like I am waiting for all my friends to come over so we can hang out! :rotfl2:
We'll be on our way soon! hehe

Hang in there!

I think when I board the ship I will collapse in the main lobby and do a snow angel on the carpet.
:lmao: :goodvibes
I laughed out loud when I read this... but then I started thinking hey I wanna do that too. The looks on people's faces would probably crack me right up so I'd do snow angel and then lay there laughing my butt off at the looks on people's faces. LOL

..do we wear signs marked hug or no hug..??? How will I know who to give a big ol bear hug to and who to smile at??
BIP= okay to hug, if ya wanna
Hmm, maybe you can smile first and if their arms go out- it's a sign it's okay to do the huggin'?
No wait- that might not work... all us DIS'ers might start trying to hug ANYONE that smiles at us. LOL

Steph: It cost me 21.78 to mail my box of FE to CA. I mailed the box because a 3rd checked luggage would be an extra 100.00.:scared1: You might want to check with airlines on fees. Everything seems to be changing and extra costs !!! We are flying continental.:

That is horrible! Luckily we are *grandfathered* in wiht AA for at least 1 bag and dh is allowed 2 checked bags -- he is Gold level?

I didn't think any other stick figure families were on the cruise... they should be easy to spot.

Plus, how weird will it be to be hugged by a cartoon drawing?

:rotfl: :rotfl: Haven't we all been hugged by a cartoon character???

It's too early! DD woke at 6 and was fussy on and off till I got her up at 7. It would seem the fever was gone yesterday but back today? :sad2:

I thought it was *Marco* *Palo*

:lmao: :thumbsup2

My 6 year old had his belated well visit last week and got a DPT booster and the finger prick for the hemoglobin. He was screaming as soon as he saw the needle. He carried on so much you could have heard him a block away. When we got to the waiting room he abruptly stopped crying and said "How long have I been like this?" and then turned the waterworks back on, lol. And I'm a bad mommy, I didn't promise him anything. But he'd had a push up pop at camp already that day. I know this because as I grabbed him off the bus when he got home camp and I raced over to make our appt, his mouth, tongue and teeth were all dyed blue. And he was sweaty and filthy. I'm surprised they didn't call child services on me when they got a look at him at the office, lol.

I got her something because I had told her specifically that there were no shots that day... I really thought there weren't.... :headache:

Thanks for the weather update! We're arriving on Wednesday, so it looks like hot and sunny the whole time:goodvibes :goodvibes .

:lmao: I was thinking it looked to be rather cool!! LOL!

Hey Chris and June,

Glad that the boys had fun yesterday. It's fine here just a little worry wart most of the time, lol. I was talking to June the other day and she said you all might want to come see Ryan DS in his parade on Saturday. I know now the time and it's around 10 am Saturday in downtown Castle Rock. We could meet in the morning and get breakfast or something.

Just let us know if you would like to come. I hope that you can, it's going to be a really big band and they are awesome.

Take care and talk soon,

My favorite outlet shopping was in Castle Rock -- Ann Taylor! Talbot Kids! Tommy Hilfiger! :yay:

 Been hopping today! I printed out the last of everything that needed to be printed. DD loves the kid's activity pages! Also I typed (on photo paper) a copy of our itenerary for the trip combining things we booked along with the navigators. I am going to put it on the inside of our door so I can see at a glance what I have planned and where we are meeting!

All shuttles, credit cards, mail stop etc calls have been made (I hope!) and now I just have to forward to our friens the links for the cams and directions for watering our plants and checking on the house :yay:

My goal is to have everything ready to go and packed (with the exception of formals) by Saturday. It's getting there!

I go tomorrow for the cut and color. Wish me luck. Sometimes it turns out great other times not so good. Hopefully tomorrow will be great so there is one less thing to worry about.

Ditto ditto ditto!
And the last two times were "turned out great" times... so I'm hoping this time isn't the "didn't turn out so good" time. :confused3 :rotfl:

WHAT??? what happened?? How come??? no more fries at DL?? that is just plain wrong...

Disney had a 10 year contract with McDonald's. The 10 years is up and they are not renewing.

There are still fries in the park but there will no longer be McD's fries.

I spent the morning shopping! I picked up this cool pop up hamper with wheels for the trip (bed bath and beyond)! Make it easier on me to do laundry. Then I went shopping for ME!! I got myself some nice tops, tanks, and a really nice red dress!! I didn't "need" anymore dresses..but I don't have red.

So I have everything I need for the trip, now I just have to pack it all. I can't believe that one week from right now I will be on a plane to LAX!!!

Hmmm... In that case, may I propose some alternative sources of fries:

Wendy's Fries - cart located outside of the Peter Pan, but you can only eat them if you're thinking happy thoughts.

In & Out Fries - Cart located at the park entrance - must get your hand stamped when ordering.

Bob's Big Boy Fries - Must be over 4' 6" to purchase.

Burger King Fries - Must pull sword from the stone in Fantasy Land to purchase.

Popeye's Fries - Each order costs $1500 - $1.00 for the fries and $1499.00 to settle the trademark violation suit for having a non-Disney character appear in Disneyland.

Kentucky Fried Chicken Fries - Available only on Pirates of the Caribbean ride - old guy on the rocking chair is replaced by an animatronic of Colonol Sanders who sells the fries as you go buy before you reach the waterfall.

Carl's Junior Fries - Served on the newly renamed former Casey Jr. Circus Train.

:rolleyes1

Hey, good for you! I always say buying something for myself makes me feel great! I am usually buying things for everyone else.:confused3

MORE INFO ON THE CANCELLATION WITHIN PENALTY PHASE

A few days ago we had started posting about changes to cruise dates after final payment due date has passed. Here is the official announcement from DCL

"Beginning August 31, 2008 for all reservations on sailings beginning August 31, 2008 and beyond, the options provided when a request is received to change the Disney Cruise Line® vacation date within the cancellation period will change. Guests who have provided payment on a reservation and wish to modify their reservation within the final payment due date period will no longer have the option of paying a change fee and deferring the cancellation fees. Changes to the Disney Cruise Line® vacation date made within the final payment due date period will be considered cancellations and the applicable cancellation fee will apply. Complete changes to guest names will continue to be considered as cancellations. This isn't a change in policy. The policy is already in place, but it will be more strictly enforced, starting with the August 31 cruises"

I haven't had time to check back to see if this has been posted by anyone else and if it has sorry to be repeating it

I'm rather surprised that there will still be fries in the parks with the current Disney health kick! I'm still really upset that I can no longer get fries with my Casey Dog

That said - if you have the DCL insurance, currently, if you cancel for any reason, the full amount of non-refundable fees can be applied to any cruise up to 12 months in the future.

So, unless they've changed that policy, it seems to me there's no real change - you should be able to cancel your reservation and apply the full amount towards a new reservation (as long as you have the DCL insurance).

Is this correct?

They have slightly changed that policy, for the better. You don't have to apply it to a cruise up to 12 months in the future, it can be anytime.

And yes, you need to have DCL insurance. If the DCL insurance pays the cancellation fees there is nothing to apply to the future, but if it is denied, you are able to apply it to anytime in the future.
