8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #12

So I spent about 2 hours in Urgent care. I have found out that I have a fracture in my 5th metatarsal. I currently have it splinted. I have to go to an orthopedic Dr. to find out what else needs to happen. They think it will take about 4 weeks to heal. But I just saw the urgent care doc. So I may look like this on the ship

I am going on this trip, no matter what.

Not sure how I am going to get to work, as it is my right foot. I live 35 miles from my office. I have lots of activities throughout 9 counties before the trip I am supposed to attend.

Nothing like a relaxing weekend.

Our latest . We were going to take DD's digital camera on the TOAL since it's better than ours (on the last trip all the pics came out blurry). Well doesn't DD smuggle the good camera to camp where one of the girls steals it from her and we have virtually no chance of recovering it.

(and to top that off...DD was scheduled to take Digital photography 2 for school next year and now she can't do that either without a camera.)

SO now if we do go...Please take our picture if you see us as we'll have no camera of our own....

Hey Jen... my friend Kathy can top that....Her husband was attacked by an owl while out talking on his cell phone on their balcony at the WL.

He just got scraped up a bit. I wonder if the owl thought the phone was an animal or something.

Oh, Chrissy I was bad today! Went into Michaels to look for paper and they have Cricut carts on sale this week for $40! Worse they had the Pooh ones, so I got both of thoes and one called School Locker. I was so bad, but I got another Disney reward dollar!

My DD11 loves owls, but this is scary...like out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie

About 7 months ago this is what my brother came home to.....this is his breakfast room light fixture.... He had never seen it before...... DS (my brother called our oldest over to help him) said it took quite a while to get it out of the house....

I'm number 8 in a family of 9. 6 boys & 3 girls. Not amazing, but different by today's standards.

That just stinks! Can the camp send something to all the parents "Someone had a camera stolen, xxx model, etc. If you child has a camera that doesn't belong to them, please contact the camp to arrange return. No charges will be pursued....."?

See counselor there's this whole innocent before proven guilty thing...

i can see where the camp director doesn't want to place blame...However the fact is that someone stole it and this other girl from her cabin mysteriously had one just like it the following week. Fishy...i think...

If i don't hear from the director by tomorrow night, I am sooooo calling the council office because right now...Clearly something can be done... Even if it is to tell all the other girls that everyone is going home unless it reappears. And to think this is a CIT program...Yeah i wan't a thief in charge of younger girls...

Ugh - total bummer. Glad the cruise is still on. I thought I read of someone who had to cancel recently do to a broken something or other. Can't imagine

Close. He was trying out a wake board. It is a thin boogie board that you "surf" the wake on the beach as the water goes out. I have only seen one kid who could actually stay on one for more than a second. Most of the teens and older guys fall down quickly.

We have no kids,so I have no idea who they are. Never seen HSM,don't watch Disney Channel much. Guess I'm outta the loop.

You could consider yourself lucky! But with all the junk out there Disney Channel is a safe place. I've come to realize that I know more about this stuff than adult stuff! But Hey I'm a hip happening mom!

If you like the old style, fun, musicals you will like HSM! I really enjoy fun movies like that.
And the songs are catchy!

It is usually seasonal here Feb-March. Our local Dairy Queen ( a soft serve ice place) has GS Thin Mint Blizzards this month. Thought that was different.

Tina... we were gonna make some custom T-shirts for our little group of 26. However, I'm not clear as to whatbusiness MIKE's is? Maybe this is a sign that we don't have this particular business around our parts. In any event, could ya steer me in the right direction on this? Maybe I'm not the only one thinking' this so your posting might help others too...

I know people that think we are nuts traveling to the USA because they believe that isn't safe.

All we see on the TV is shooting with crime dramas and violence. OMG you aren't going to Los Angeles are you... they have riots there! Not to mention the violent crime rate in the US AND people are allow to carry guns - heck even the police have guns in the US! (Police don't carry guns here.)

All a matter of perception.

Keep safe, be careful, don't carry large amounts of cash, don't wear expensive or flashy jewellery and don't draw attention to yourself. Look like you know where you are going at all times. Stick to tourist areas and if you feel unsafe head back to the ship and/or get a cab, go into a store etc. Take a group tour if you aren't confident to walk around on your own.

Your right. There are people around my area that can't believe I go to Detroit! That's were the jobs are and I live 10 south of Detroit. You know the murder capital of the world, although I think we lost that title. Not sure the movie 8 Mile did much good either. But it didn't scare off Clint Eastwood, he is in town right now shooting a movie.

I tried looking at the navigators but I must have missed it. I do remember hearing it was held as a deck party because there were so many CC members

They held one or it at Rocking Bar D and Diversions and Sessions. We tried to attend but it was sooooo packed that we had to leave. We dropped off our entry form and had to leave its was beyond sardine packed.

Calling all iPod experts!!


I have a book on disks....is there a way to put it into my computer or on iTunes and then put it into my iPod???? If so, please explain it verrrry carefully for the idiot.

Open Itunes
Insert the disk into the computer
Itunes will ask if you want to import it- yes
It will import it into itunes
What you will need to do is make a playlist for it
Go to File- new playlist- then label that playlist
Go into your music (it won't recognize it a an audiobook)
You can highlight the first one and then hold down ctrl and click the last one and it will highlight all in the section.
While highlighted right click and go to Add to playlist and select that playlist
Make sure that when you hook you ipod to the computer that the playlist is checked to upload into your ipod
When your ipod is attached to the computer, go to the music tab and check that playlist and click apply(at the bottom right of the screen)

That's it.
You will need to do this to every disk or import all the disks first then add them to the playlist by the highlight and add directions
Have fun.

Stace, I download and upload BOT all the time. If you come across a CD that does not show details, you can input the info one time and "mass update" so you don't have to put in the info for each and every chapter.

If you get to this point, and have any other questions, let me know. I just downloaded 6 books for this crise and didn't listen to any of them.

Depending on whether you have auto syncing or manual syncing - I have 4 computers authorized for my video ipod and ergo have to manually sync each book. Its not hard and once you do it - its a snap. I hope you enjoy your books. Makes for easy reading!

When HSM 1 first came out youngest dd thought they were singing *push it to the lemon* So, we still sing it that way!

That is very interesting!! My dad is retired Navy. While he was in Vietnam he was a frontline medic attached to a Marine unit (he was in Hue for the Tet Offensive).
