Yeah!

Finally finished all our costumes. Now the task of packing them, ugh!

Here is my oldest daughter in her ES POTC Gold Gown:
The shoes took 8 weeks, had an old world cobbler make them in Canada. Great job! I dressed them up a little based on the originals from the movie.

Call me crazy but I had a ball creating it.

That's really impressive. I am not showing my DD these pics

Hey all, for once in my 13 cruises - I am finally packed early! Finished about 1 pm then went and had lunch and of course, God or some jokester felt it was necessary to send me off with a farewell gift - how about a long black hair baked into my desert? I just had to laugh - things like this have been happening all week.

In the meantime, has a disboard meet been set up for this thread? We had one in Studio Sea and it was a nice turn out yesterday. We were originally set to meet in Sessions but a conflict moved us to Studio Sea. The coordinator said if we want and hasn't been done - it would probably be a good idea to see if someone can reserve it. I've been out of touch so long can't remember if anyone took this on.

For now, I am ready to go and catch the Farewell show and gloat because I'm packed and I got off fairly easy aside from the alcohol bill. BTW, chiggers, fleas and other critters got Megan, Andrew and myself - all last night and this morning. Please be sure to pack mosquito repellant or biting flea spray. I'm all marked up.

Oh yeah, they had an AWESOME adult cabaret - Blackstreet Boys from LA - OMG! THEY WERE HILARIOUS. More details later, gotta fly!

Florencia - the wedding coordinator this trip had 2 weddings go off great this week.

The weather the last two days has been a bit chilly and lots of people running around with sweaters so prepare yourselfs. Goofy Pool has been closed due to overcast and grey.

Joey Fatone, the professional cruise, signed autographs today at two but I got him last night with the Blackstreet boys which BTW, are hilarious - lots of cutting edge humor but they are not scheduled for our cruise anyway, Sonja White, the Cougar, is also sceduled to perform but just wanted to add that. Will check later this evening if anyone wants any last minute requests.

I don't post much here but do read when I have time and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for always taking the time to post while you are on vacation.

Laura, were you guys being bitten by insects ON THE SHIP???? I have never heard of such a thing! And the hair . . . I am usually such an optimist but your reports are starting to get me down . . .

Hope you have an uneventful disembarkation . . . but given how things have been going, maybe that's not possible.

Just saying hello to everyone - hope that your day goes well. Please take care and talk to you soon. Still in search for a formal for my DD6, since the other dress got cancelled yesterday. Disappointing. Also, went to Macy's, Nordstrom, Dillards, JcPenny's ect... and no formal dresses for little girls. Found one possible on ebay and pray we get it.

FYI: I had to get my tux taken in today. I've lost a lot of weight since I purchased it two years ago. Anyway, the place I took it for alterations was closed as the owner is on vacation until August 1st, so I went to a nearby mall--Westminster Mall. It had a store there called "Fairly Tales" and it looked to be full of children's formals and tuxes. You might try them.

Actually most Ren Faires have a Pirate section now along with like a Barbarian area , well at least the big one in Vegas does ...and I know alot in Cali do as well ....Lat year I even saw a few Jedi walkin about the Ren Fair

I think it depends from what agency you are renting. Some of them are off site and there are a few on site. The lines on a weekend tend to be very, very long from what I understand. Perhaps at 8:30 it will not be as bad as a Saturday morning. Check out the tripadvisor forums. THat's where I heard about all the horror stories. I think Budget was supposed to be the worst.

Okay! I'm getting more stuff done getting ready for this trip! I just booked my post cruise room reservations last week and I just booked my return flights home today!

I think next week I might start a packing list to see what I might need to bring with me. (Last Eastbound Repo I didn't start my actual packing until about 45 mins before I left for the port).

Becky, I have heard that the porters had tags to tag your cases of beverages (when beverages were allowed) and extra bags, but that was in Port Canaveral.

From what i understand,the porters will no longer bring them to your stateroom,it's up to you to get them there. I could be wrong.

They are allowed, but can't check bottles in luggage, except as reported:

Several people on the Mexican cruises have reported being allowed to check a case of water with the porters. We plan to do so for the EB repo.

I believe DCL wants you to carry on liquids because they don't want them in checked luggage. Checking a case of water is a bit different since they are aware of what it is and can handle it appropriately. With liquids in luggage they run the risk of something breaking and damaging other bags but a case of water shouldn't present that problem.

We just returned from our trip on the Magic (June 29-July 6 sailing) and we had no problem checking a case of water when we checked in our luggage. We were prepared to carry it on, and the porter said we could check it.
We had an extra luggage label left over and just stuck it on the water.

Also, once you get on the ship they had a case of Evian water that you could buy. I think it was $35. You have to walk right past the water sales person when you first board the ship and are on your way up to the buffet.

Have fun on your trip. We had a great time!

We were on the June 15 Mexican Riviera. We just placed an extra luggage sticker on the case of water and they took it with the rest of our luggage. It was really that simple! My sister did the same thing. We did take a small roll of the clear packing tape and wrap around the case of water so that it wouldn't fall out the sides.
