Our Youth minister put a big write up in the bulletin yesterday about the conference and referenced it being live on EWTN how cool! We have no one from our parish attending that I am aware of, San Diego hosts Steubenville in two weeks which is highly attended by our youth group. This will be my boys' second year attending. Did any of your kids ever attend Steubenville? 5,000+ teenagers mostly from the Western US all here for the same purpose is truly awe inspiring. I am afraid to tell the boys about a world wide conference, they would want to go

Yes, my almost 25dd went to Steubenville South at least once but, i think twice.
I tried to convince our 28ds to go to Steubenville for college. I have a friend that all of her children (so far) have gone to college @ Steubenville. My girls (24 & 17) have both loved going to Youth 2000, too.

Does anybody happen to have a copy of the cruise banner without the white or black background? I'm working on a door sign, and I'd look to put the banner on it, but still see the background picture behind it. I'm new to playing around with the image editing programs, so I'm not sure how else to go about doing it.

A few general comments-

Do we want to add some consistent daily activities? Cove Café evening meet? Rockin’D dance on the bar? Afternoon ice cream social? Drink of the Day meet in the afternoon?? Obvioulsy not everyone would participate every day, but you would know that if you head to XXX location at XX time you are likely to run into a few pirates.

I now some of the missing info isn’t available yet.

If you are a task force leader, please PM sk8ingmom and pdarrah with your cabin number as soon as you are out of the lifeboat. You will be the communication hub for you activities. Any updates or reminders should be posted on you cabin door.

What an amazing list! I'm exhausted just reading it and knowing we have the regular Navigators too sort thru too.......yikes!

I did have to laugh at the comment in the first few lines of the "general comments"...I'm thinking DCL may have a problem with us dancing ON the bar every night in the RockinD bar at XX:00...LOL

My kids have landed in Sydney!!! I received a quick email from Samantha (17, dd) while they were at the airport -- she didn't say how she was able to email...I guess they had some sort of Internet cafe in the airport! LOL!

The Youth leader has sent out emails from both Korea & Sydney so, I haven't been with out any communication.

As a parent it still amazes me how awesome communication is in this day and age. How my parents survived knowing I had a few dimes in my pocket for emergencies, and hardly heard from me until I walked in the door...is amazing. I would go crazy not being able to get a hold of my kids, or knowing they could not just text, call or email!

Its just mind boggling sometimes.

Glad they arrived safely and are having fun.

I was looking for some princess stickers I found at one store. Now I know why all the other stores do not carry them. Someone went around and put them up on E-bay!!

Now all I have to do is buy the stickers that I was looking for from the person on E-bay.

We are in the process of decorating our kid's bathroom....and we are doing a Mickey Mouse theme. There were so many things in that bathroom I would love to have. All we have so far is a MM lotion pump and soap dish, a couple of pictures on the walls and I got 2 big MM "hands" that are intended to be used as wash cloths, I believe. They are terry cloth and stuffed with foam. But I am going to attach them to a ribbon or cord and just hang them from the curtain rod as a decorative element. We did have some really cute pewter finished Mickey and Minnie towel hooks, but ds decided to see if he could climb the wall by holding onto the towel that was hanging from his Mickey hook. Crack, Thump! Yeah....that didn't work!

Pictures please!!! I always love to see people as crazy as me.

Also on the baggage question, many people have rolling soft coolers to bring their liquids in.

Where did we order the from???? DD wants to buy one and I can't remember where!!

Door signs I use regular printer paper as well. Recycle pictures from previous cruises and add new ones as we go along.

Found my tiara and gloves this week so shopping is almost completed.

Just formatted your camera's memory card and forgot to download the pics first? Think your TOAL is ruined, think again......

I'll be bringing some S/W that will *attempt* to recover the images - I can't guarentee it, but it has worked sucessfully in the past.

I'll have a card reader that can take almost any format card, so if you think that your memory card is destined for Davey Jones' locker, drop by and I'll see what we can salvage.

I believe Shutters can do this too.

I've been sick all weekend...seemed to have lost my voice (and my mind, but thats nothing new!) Trying to catch up on stuff. I can't believe we are less then 5 weeks out now! I've been trying to pull together all my post its, copy n pastes and notes I've jotted down...to add them to my master list!

Hi Everyone,

Been a very busy few days! The day of the mini-meet (Saturday) the weather was threatening to be bad, so DH and I hopped up early and worked on de-cluttering the house. At noon, I took DS9 over to the festival (our local Railroad Days which was the reason for the fireworks in the evening) because they were doing "wristbands" for the carnival. This means you buy a $17 wristband and can then ride all the rides as many times as you want during a set time. It was from noon to 5 and I told DS we could only stay until 2 since I needed to get back to help DH finish getting ready for the meet. Just as we were leaving at 2, our next door neighbors showed up with their kids and said DS could stay with them - so he rode carnival rides from noon to 5pm with only a slight break for a snack! We managed to have the house ready by 4pm for the meet, so of course, the weather turned around and was nice. We ended up taking a table outside and eating there. It was tons of fun! After dinner, we went over to the park and set out our chairs and blankets for the fireworks. (Susan & Scott (Geffric & DH) had to leave) My DH (who is a total pushover with kids) took DS and Tina's DD (DownriverMama's DD10) to the carnival and bought them some tickets for a couple rides. Cheryl, Tina & Tracy watched the Mickey Dolenz concert while John, Scott & I chatted and kept our fireworks spot safe. Everyone trickled back in time for the fireworks show. It was a late night - but I think we all had fun! (I'll post a few photos once I pull them off the memory card - we didn't remember to do a "group photo" so I don't have a single picture with everyone)

Whew....big post...tried to edit out so I only have the stuff I wanted to comment on....


Daily Activities - I'll be in Rockin Bar D just about every night, but time will be dependent upon what's scheduled. I think a daily DoD would be good to schedule, athough I won't be buying them. It would still be nice to know where to find some folks. Maybe at Signals? Or should we meet outside of the adult area?

Group Photo - I think we need one. Doesn't a time in between the early and late seating work out? Maybe on Pirate Night?? However I am not volunteering to arrange it with Shutters.

Sailaway Meet and Greet - Wasn't that going to be right after the lifeboat drill? So about 4pm? Deck 10 Starboard (above Goofy's)?

Never saw anyone step up for the wine and cheese. I say take it off the schedule.

Cabo Wabo - no real meet here, but many pirates will be stopping by after their various excursions.

When your checking out the stickers on ebay, search for a tiara and gloves.


The coolers were ordered from Staples, but they were on clearance and are no longer available. There's one here but it's slight more than the one from Staples.

I hope I did this right. I'm still learning this graphic stuff too. But I spent a few hours yesterday learning how to make the background transparent. Thing is I spent so much time taking out unwanted colors that I didn't get much time to play around to make sure it was all transparent.

But then...I don't remember....if you buy liquor in port, do you get to take it to your room or do they take it and give it to you at the end of the cruise?
