HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY CHRISTOPHER

kid-cakes-05.jpg

That be Tom31b's DS

That's US too.... Alicia will be hog tied and BRANDED before we pay an OVERWEIGHT baggage fee when it's just a quick shift of a few things.

Oops... sorry to the 1,000+ folks staring at us from the line to check in! :confused3

Below is an image of our luggage load after our 1st Disney cruise some 4.5-5 years ago. We only had ONE child then and Alicia was just at the end of her 2nd trimester with the 2nd child. Yes - this is one of those RARE images of her with a round tummy. At any rate - lok at all the bags she saddled me with lugging around - and yes - we probably repacked a bag at the airport check in to BALANCE the weight in avoiding overwieght charges on check in!

We have had to balance our suitcase weight before at airports in check in line. That is always so much fun!!!!

So, I bought a digital luggage scale to hopefully avoid those issues this time! :)

I usually weigh luggage with the bathroom scale at home. Just picked up one of those handy travel luggage scales for $10 at Target

I cannot remember why I quoted this- what list. must go find your post again LOL
Oh yeah- list of our rooms. can anyone tell from the list who will be under OUR rooms? Because I need to start apologizing now for my kids who stomp like elephants. LOL

ditto that!

Hey stace....... are you iggin' me on purpose?
:lmao: We used to call my DD25 my herd of elephants when she was younger. DH would say "here comes the herd of elephants" when she got home.

Ours yielded $190

Andy

That's great! We've been saving ours for almost 2 years and got quite a bit. Now we're saving all our singles - DS uses them during the school year to buy lunch but once we have enough to make it through the end of the year we start saving them also - we have over $125 in singles alone! I also save all of our recycling money.

Our bank will not take rolled coin anymore! That just cracked me up! I am getting very excited to see how much we've saved. Our big sparkletts jug is over 50 lbs and has lots of dollars from garage sales and recycling money, in addition to lots of change (NO PENNIES!!)

We throw all our change in a huge bottle and have been saving for a couple of years now. We hope to start wrapping them this weekend...or should I just carry them in and have the bank count?:confused3 I am sure it is several hundred dollars. My mad money for the cruise...tips, post cards, souveniers, etc.

For some reason I am starting to get panicky about the next 5 weeks.
Being on vacation a couple of weeks ago really showed me that my "back-ups" are just not "up-to-speed". I came back to a lot of issues I had to end up taking over. That means that I am going to have to work way more the next 5 weeks to get the particuraly needy clients taken care of so they can last w/ out me for 2 weeks. I normally work part-time so that is out for a while.
I had the idea last night of laying out the outfits for the girls and taking digital pictures of them. That way even though I cannot pack their clothes now, it will make it easier when I do pack. Print out a sheet of the outfits and put them in the suitcase.
My house/animal sitter called and said she will not be here on the day we leave. She is bringing over her friend that will take over for her that day but she was our ride to the airport so now that is gone. We are debating asking a neighbor (who has offered many, many times) or get a Super Shuttle.
I am still working on clothes and the cool door signs may be a "no-go". Also, I have no fish extender.
Is reality hitting anyone else about now? :scared:
I have a spreadsheep too, but it is just the things we need to take. I need to get down to the nitty gritty...how many of what for which day and what still fits and what goes with what. And I have to finish my FE gifts too. And...

She said thanks Paula.... She is doing a CIT (counselor in training) seesion for GS camp in Leesburg , VA.

It's an OK camp but only about 15 miles south of Frederick so fairly easy to pickup/drop off.

Hopefully she learns a thing or two while away.:rolleyes1 At least DH and I will get a break.

DD did this when she was in HS. She likes it but didn't do it the next year. She always went to GS camp, but had trouble getting the girls to listen...and now she is studying to be a HS teacher. Hope it is better than at camp.

We don't need no stinkin' luggage scale! I shouldn't write this, or there will be a line at my door on the last night, but my DH has an uncanny ability to pick up a bag and guess its weight within about 1 lb. It's a little freaky!

One similar, but wholly unrelated thought. As we are travelling in foreign countries you may want to consider taking a picture of your whole family before leaving in the morning. Then if, God forbid, you get separated, there is a record of what everyone was wearing and a picture the police can use to help reunite you

When my kids were little, I made them beaded necklaces with their name and our cell phone number. They knew to show it to a CM if they got lost.

Not sure what cell service will be like, so I think I'm getting them dog tags with their name, one of our cell #s, and both sets of grandparents phone #. That way if they get lost, we have a central point of contact.

Because they have golf excursions but no hockey excursions?

How discriminatory.

Seriously!

Also make copies of your passport and leave some home so if you lose it they can fax it to you.

We have a copy in our safe, but that won't help much. Our folks each have a copy as well, so they can fax it.

Hey Tom, isn't today Christopher's birthday??

ETA: Ummm, why yes it is. Shoulda gone back a page!

YES!!!! I am kind of freaking...my next big thing that I have to get through is that my DH is having a grill out at our house on Thursday. He recently had a reorg of staff and has all new people, most of whom I have never met. We need new carpet and a few furniture pieces for our patio/deck and I have to weed the veggie garden and reorg our den and Living room. AND plan a menu, drinks etc. That is the last thing that has an important deadline on it before the TOAL. So, I will work on that then it is nothing but pre trip panic! :)

We have a bank by us (Commerce Bank) that has a free change counting machine and you don't have to have an account to use it.

but my DH has an uncanny ability to pick up a bag and guess its weight within about 1 lb. It's a little freaky!

I can usually tell when it's close to maxed out too....

Probably cause the weight bar i use for squats is 45 lbs so i know if the luggage seems heavier then were really close...

It's usually my bag we have to worry about :rolleyes1

This should be pretty close if i can only bring two bags and a carry on. (Since one of my bags will probably end up being the garment bag. Although i can put all our dinner clothes in that.)

I have a spreadsheep too, but it is just the things we need to take.

My wife used to think I was OCD for my spreadsheeps for vacations, packing, what we were doing, reservations, etc.

Now with all the other spreadsheepers here...... she is pretty sure I'm just nuts! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I missed it, what's the link?
I think someone else posted it already, but it's www.vistaprint.com. If you create an account with them, they said emails ALL the time with free offers. I've been waiting to do our wed announcments this way since they'll be free!

YES! Reality, anxiety, stress levels rising, OMG moments everyday! Not only are we packing and preparing for the TOAL, but we're planning and preparing for our wedding too. I'm excited and all, but this is 2 HUGE things to plan for! I'm going to need some anxiety meds before the next 5 weeks is over! :scared1:

Is that how he used to pick up women? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
