8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #11

I keep checking to make sure DCL doesn't move our cabin for an "upgrade". They finally gave us 2 cabins near each other (6630 & 6631

), and now I'm afraid they'll "upgrade" the Cat 11 but move us to deck 2 or something. Hopefully, with the number of requests from me, my TA, and our VR coordinator, they'll know not to move us.

Diane, I saw over on the passporter boards where some cat9's were also assigned today (sadly not us). Sounds like no rhyme or reason to how they are uploading the assignments.

I just checked again and no luck here with a Cat 9. I'm getting impatient!!

I just tried to book this cruise through DCL and got all the way through including picking a room assignment

One adult one child only available assignment Cat 4 cabin 8000 $9.375.58 no air, transfers or insurance.

If so, means all Cat 4s assisgned just they need to update the ressies on the system.

Mmmmm .. snails! Love 'em! It is not unheard of for me to order 2 appetizers if they are on the menu...

DS tried them on a cruise and he liked the flavor, but had trouble chewing them. (He has trouble chewing lots of stuff - I'm pretty sure his bite is off and there are orthodontists in our future ) Actually, right now he is missing so many teeth (and another loose one!) its amazing he can chew anything!

DH won't eat snails at all - he's grossed out by them. He won't eat most seafood for the same reason (ie crabs, lobster,etc.) He will eat fish fillets that don't look anything like fish (but not whole catfish!) and shrimp or scallops that also don't look at all like what they are

I think I tried snails once a long time ago. We're planning on ordering one order to share to try them again. Zack is getting pretty adventurous, but I think he'll pass on the snails. And the other two...not a chance.

My son will not eat snails but he orders them on the ship because he loves to dip the bread in the garlic butter they come with. The rest of us love them. I grew up eating them. We lived in Italy when I was growing up and they were readily available if you lived near the sea, which we did, so we had them often

I know we have discussed Bare Naked Ladies on here before...they arrested Steven Page here in CNY on drug charges on Saturday.!!!! (BNL has been doing kiddie music with Disney! - and was to play NYC with that new Block Party Tour.)

Police were investigating a car parked across a sidewalk with a door open - saw Page and a woman doing drugs at a table.

sad, I really liked him and his voice...

back to the cruise: as many have, I have started getting things to gether and started with the lists!!!!! Getting the luggage out tonight!!!!

Tom,what is that? Looks good whatever it is!

It's a japanese pastry of sorts (in it's simplist description) ... however, it's sort of Asian in nature. They are mildly sweet - with a sweeter filling. THis varies from red bean paste - to peanut butter type stuff - to fruity things. I've made mochi by HAND in hawaii - we had relatives who were doing a "traditional" thing of some sort where fresh mochi was being pounded in a huge wooden bowl with this massive mallott.

I did OK until I started clipping the side of the bowl with the mallot - where-upon an observer quickly relieved me of my duties.

Seriously - it's a fun little snack type thing - and made in infinate variety.

OK... otherwise - I'm just passing through and marking the last spot I read up to - as well as marking this spot too. I gotta run some errands now - back later to lurk mostly as I read several 100 postings while geting up to date.

I'm looking forward to this saturday for the meet in SF! We'll be in Santa Clara friday then downtown SF - maybe powershopping the MACY's FLAGSHIP STORE with MONICA (if we're lucky!)... maybe Trevoy can follow me and my two girls to wander union square or someplace of greater interest to us? Oh... maybe Trevoy would like to swim at our hotel (assuming we have a pool?).... Monica - I'll PM ya... or if ya see this - PM me....

OK... I just called the hotel to confirm - we have a 50' indoor pool - maybe Trevoy would like to swim some of the afternoon away???? What do ya think?
