Sorry about your Uncle:hug:

Sorry to hear that Stephanie.
.

So sorry to hear about your uncle! My Dad knows everyone in Omaha (darn near), I wouldn't be surprised if he'd known him.
My folks have lived there almost their whole lives, and I was born there, moved away when I was 22.
I go back once or twice a year, because my whole family is still there....and now oldest DD and her new husband just got transferred there. Mighty convenient!!

I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. My very close uncle passed away a few years ago suddenly when he was 48! He had a virus in his heart that he didn't know about, it was so awful.:sad2:

Thank y'all so much. My dad is one of 9 and we have family reunions (we live all over the country) every other summer. And Uncle John will be missed. I'm glad that I got to hang out with them last summer in Omaha. All of us on that side of our family are close -- dh has always been amazed how quick we are to pick up where we left off. :goodvibes

Stace, *knowing everyone* is what all of his kids will tell you about Uncle John! One of my cousisn told me that everytime they were at Church on vacation (other states) they would run into someone that he knew in Omaha! :rotfl: And a couple of my cousins are teachers in the area.

Happy Birthday Claire!

Happy Birthday Claire!!

Happy Birthday, Claire!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
CLAIRE

Happy Birthday Miss Claire!

Claire LOVED the cakes & b-day wishes!!! Thank you!!! She actually *gasped* when I showed her the cakes! :goodvibes

I didn't know your DD works!
and where is she going?
And WHY haven't you answered my last emails to you? :sad1:
OMG is it Claire's birthday? HOW could I miss how close her birthday is? you probably told me but geesh.... I wish I'd PAID ATTENTION. i would have given her a birthday gift when she came to rita's party! I'm such a moron. :(

I hope she has a great birthday!!!
(I will give her a birthday gift on the cruise if we don't see each other again before that)

Yes, I told you it was her b-day. ;)
Samantha works at an Art School -- her & the younger kids take classes there, also.
I had VBS all last week (I'm the leader for the craft area) & dh was out of the country and I just had an all around bad week..........
I will say that i thought it was funny the day you went to Hawaiian Falls.... Brian had tried to talk me into going that same afternoon after VBS!!!! Wouldn't that have been funny!!! You must drive fast if it only took you 35 mins...... I don't drive over the speed limit...ever. I had thought 287 to 67 would have been the best way but, since none of the online maps gave me that option I thought maybe there was construction going on --- I haven't driven that direction on 287 in about 18 months....... From our old house we would take 820 to 35 to 67 to go to Cleburne.

I have a daughter who is 16 turning 17 on the cruise. I am also looking for a place for the older kids... she hates being called a kid... to meet or talk precruise.

There are several girls/boys in that age range that post on the kids thread. You may have to search back a few days and then PM them. 17DD's dis name is Pirana.

dahuffy - As a dog lover you would appreciate this story. Today I took our 1 yr old Min. Schnauzer to the vet for vac. Her name is Belle. A few minutes after I left the vet, Belle threw up so I stopped to clean the van. When I got back into the van, she collapsed on the seat. I rushed her back to the vet. They rushed her to the back and started working on her. She had gone into anaphylactic shock! After much care, she is home recovering now.

 Oh my!!!! I will say that after she threw up I would have got out of the car and called dh and I wouldn't have even got back in until he had cleaned it up........

OMG.............I am glad she is okay! I never never never heard of this type of reaction - now I will be so worried every time we go to the vet!

I KNOW! I asked them why it happened since she has had them before. They said it could happen at any time. They can have this reaction or swell in the face, etc. The first sign was her throwing up within 5-10 minutes of the injection. I didn't think all that much of it because she has been known to get car sick and such. I don't think she would have made it if I hadn't taken her back! I could not believe the way they reacted when I walked in. I hadn't even got the words out that I thought she was having a reaction and they had taken her from me. My suggestion to anyone in the future would be to wait around for about 15 minutes before leaving the office.

My dad & brother just got back from Omaha. One of my Uncles died. :sad1: I had really wanted to go to the funeral but, I have no one that could watch 10ds & 7dd.
I didn't want to take young children to a funeral. We are a very close family and he will be missed.
My brother emailed me a pic of the house we lived in the year we lived in Omaha (my dad is retired Navy and we were stationed there 68/69).

Sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

It could have been worse........It's a wake up call. I was taking topamax for migraines but it was causing memory problems. Scary stuff, maybe your DH should start taking asprin. Worth it to talk with Dr. about. doc in the box?? Haven't heard of that. :surfweb:

That's what we call those *Minor Emergency Clinics* -- no appt needed kind of places.

I don't know if this helps anyone...but I thought I would post the info. This may have been posted before but I hadn't seen it.

I called the DLH to inquire about coming in thru SNA (John Wayne Airport) and getting to the resort without renting a car. I was told that there is not a shuttle per se but there is a bus called the Disney Express that leaves every hour from the airport. You do not need to make ressies in advance and it is free.

Happy Birthday Claire

Not sure about it being free - seems like a lot of people are getting incorrect information on that. The Disneyland Express is run by Gray line. http://graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.cfm

All this talk about motion sickness... Have you guys seen the Mythbusters about it? The only thing that they tried that worked was the ginger root.

We are going to book on board for a dummy date. To be honest I am getting very concerned about how things are going with the economy. I am glad that things weren't this way last year or we might have cancelled.

OK another newby question... When you book a 'bounceback' special, you can change it with no problems? Like we could book something for '09 and change it for '10 and still get the discount?

OK, am I the only person looking for Prince Charming's legs sticking out of the carriage door with Cinderella's????

:rotfl2: I didn't notice till I saw your post.

I have it on my DVR- now I just have to find time to watch it. If I remember right the book was pretty good too...........My sisters keeper will be out soon and I can't wait to see it!

I won't ruin it for you. I might just pick up one of her books to read. The problem is EVERYTIME I bring a book to read on the cruise I don't end up reading. Only on the airplane.:rotfl2:

Yes, it was the shots. She had two so they are not sure which one she reacted to. Next time they said they will pretreat her and then watch her for a couple hours afterward. It was very scary. I was glad the boys were not with me. I was not sure what was going on. It was at PetSmart so I could see through the glass and there were 3 nurses and a doctor working on her. The nurse came out and said they were trying to stabilizer her. She stayed there most of the day. When I went to Starbucks after I left her there, as I was paying, they asked me if I was having a good day. I started to cry and said no and told her why. She gave me my money back and said my drink was on her - which made me cry more!

She is better but I won't feel better for a few more days when I stop having to give her Benadryl.

I will let you know how she is doing in a few days. Thanks to all!

My dog got 3 shots a couple of weeks ago, the vet suggested giving benadryl for the pain. First it was hard to get the stuff down his throat and I thought it made him loopy.

Gotcha, pretty sure we have some of them around here.:rolleyes1

YES I KNOW! lol

I like peoples opinions and I won't be the only one wearing...so I want to make sure people like..(I know I can't please everyone..I like to try) just want a majority opinion. (I am never satisfied with anything I do!-always room for improvement!)
(BTW I have a great drawing..it is on my todo list to finish for you! haven't forgotten!)

Chrissie

Chrissie whatever you did is greatly appreciated!!!  I was going to say send to Tom but he already did!!!;)

Did you accept my bribe? I can't remember,:rotfl2:

.

You never gave me my bribe:rolleyes1 .......BTW your table is under the Goofy Pool!!:lmao: :lmao:

You are so right!!! I am glad it is too late to think about it!!!

Speaking of phone calls...........don't you owe me one by now.:rolleyes1

Yes I do owe you a phone call. I wrote it down on my desk without a name with at least 10 other phone numbers. Can you e-mail it to me??? How is Chuck and the kids doing??? So much to talk about!!!

.

To all our northern neighbors, I'm a little late, but:

Roger, the Kids bonnie has cyclizine hydrochloride in it. I take it that is ok?

Wow, with everyone talking about the books they are reading I wish I had more time to read. Got Return to Big Stone Gap from the library. I love the Big Stone Gap books. Hope I can read it in 3 weeks!

Thanks Tina. They keep changing those over the counter medications and we don't deal with them in the hospital. Cyclizine is a relative of Meclizine and is much less sedating than Dimenhydrinate (Dramamine). I see that it can be given to children 6 and older which is better than 12 and older with meclizine. You can take it as well :cool1:

I picked up a bottle of ginger root tonight - I will also be bringing bonine as well as seeing my doctor about the patch (which will be my last resort).

You can change the dates on without a problem, just make sure that you do it prior to any of the penalty windows. We will probably book a dummy date ourselves and then move it for one the new ships come out in 2011 or 2012.

Yes you can keep changing the date. The best option is to book a dummy cruise the farthest date out that is available. I booked orginally for a December 2007 on the hope a PC cruise would be announced. You know the ending.:cloud9:

Yes & Yes...........I have done this before. You can change the date alot and still get the credit. The key is to book on board.:)

Yes now I remember you saying that !:rotfl2: Brooke will be here Saturday evening.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Chuck is well......... I tried to quit my job, nope not going to let me go. Why not I mean I only work 7 days a week 8 to 15 hours a day.:rotfl2: I still need to find someone to cover me while gone. No offense to anyone in the South............but it is really hard to find people here who want to work. geez

Yes on talking lot's of talking. Way pass my bed time now. Remember your an hour behind me. Will send in email.
