I am doing WAY too much because of those dang boards. There are so many little things that sound great, but you don't think of until you see someone else's photos and think to yourself, "I have to have that!" :rolleyes1

How did we all live without doing all this *stuff* for a wedding! LOL! WHen I was making up the bags dh was saying things like *Why are we buying gifts for the wedding guests???* Then he reminded me that gifts for guests coiming to weddings was started for poorer people --- you gave them something to make up for the lost wages.... I told hime that I guess you had to be a woman to understand all this stuff! LOL!

When biking or blading, it's amazing how often I see parents without helmets but their kids wear them (or not). The worst was about two weekends ago, I saw a lady who had to be 75 years or older bicycling. Her helmet was hanging from her handlebars instead of being on her head. BTW....we always wear our helmets with or without the kids!

 I see way too many adults riding without helmets......My head may be sweaty but, I'm wearling a helmet. :rotfl:

oh, the irish dance ?....i  culture...."doing the hair"..took my
wife liked 3 hrs...& special curlers. alot of the girls..weare wigs, but
from they allowed..could only be the same hair color. what was so neat....
for their dance.., we had went to river dance the night before. alot of
the professional dancers..came & participated ...in "helping"..the kids...

I loved the pics! The kids have a cousin (on dh's side) that does Irish step dance. I know a couple of my cousin's dd's did it for a while there int eh Chicago area.

I really didn't want to say anything, because I didn't want to offend the group here by seeming to be snotty or not participating.I really hope everyone understands that we really just didn't want to put anyone out.

:lmao: For some reason this just cracked me up! LOL! I don't think y'all are being snotty -- I don't think that about anyone not participating! :)

Afternoon all! I have dd all set for day camp. Went to the Dr's to get the Health Appraisal from filled out. Ins doesn't cover it, yuck! But I have a med reimbursement account that will. DD is 57" tall:scared1: 5 more inches and she will be 5 feet! I have the feeling she is going to go through a growth spurt this summer. She was eating like a pig for a couple of weeks and has tappered down. That is usually followed by her shooting up. She was happy she didn't have to get any shots, but will need a tetanus booster.

I hate to break it to you but, if she is 57" she will be 5ft in 3". ;) 5' = 60"

For those who were in chat last week.....did we say Thurs or Fri for the Electical Light Parade???

Oooooh! Make sure to post which night and where to meet! I love the Electrical parade . . .

I am not going to be attendance but I think that it was Thursday night. Desiree was writing everything down.

Hi!
I have a quick question regarding the canopy tours in PV. On their website under "frequently asked questions" listed under "what should I bring" it states to bring a swim suit and towel and then has (Nov.-July) next to it. My question is if anyone knows if we will be able to swim during our visit??

Thanks!!

We actually ate at this restaurant some 15 years ago long before zip lines were around. There is a stream, I would not call it a river, that at that time the local kids were swimming in. My guess on the Nov - July thing would be that either it goes dry during the late summer months or it rains too much and not safe. We plan on taking our swim things anyway.

Just wanted to say I was not on the boards Monday night or Tuesday because of some medical problems with DGD. :faint: I was babysitting my DGS Monday while my DD took my DGD to the Emergency Room.  My daughter and her family were on vacation last week to the Carolina's and Kentucky. They did eat at a Burger King on Wednesday evening and by Friday my granddaughter was sick. She did have a temperature and was coming out both ends. She continued to be sick and finally on Monday(she saw the doctor in the morning) evening they rushed her to the Emergency room. She was dehydrated and still very sick and weak. She was kept over night and I was at the hospital all day yesterday because she said she would only drink for Mema....which is what she calls me since 1 years old. The hospital released her last night even though she did have 102 degree fever but thought she was well enough to go home. Today DD gets a call from the doctors office that DGD definitely had salmonella. :worried: :worried: The lab is now trying to make sure it is the same strain found in tomatoes which should have been destroyed. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew there is still danger out there.

Yuck! I am sure glad they got her to the hospital. Hope she is feeling better soon.

Oh Cheryl, that's terrible! Prayers that she is 100% again SOON!

Wanted to show you a pic of Katie's new friend Stanley!

100_1945-1.jpg

:thumbsup2 to Katie's friend Stanley. Hope he can visit the Blue Jackets someday, but they must first find a way to make it to Stanley's playoffs...baby steps.

Great job on FE but I can't find your name listed either.:confused3 :confused3 Send your name to Bellelinus if you want to be included.

Hi Cheryl! CBJFan61 is my better half and I'm pretty confident that we're listed under the FE with my name. Thanks for checking though:)

This is for everyone going to DL and CA before TOAL.
Our favorite resturant is in CA (actually in all of DL resort) is the Vineyard Room. The food is excellent, the service is great and the view is fantastic. The resturant is upstairs and open so you can see the park.We have brought our kids, and they loved it! The Vineyard Room is expensive (about the same as Napa Rose) but being outside, I felt not as stuffy for kids. (IMO)They serve a comp hors d'oeuvre and the kids even tried it! (gazpacho when we were there) Waiter was great with the kids and still kept the dinner very elegant for adults.
Janelle

LOVE Vineyard Room! It is pretty expensive though. We haven't tried since DD came. I don't remember seeing small kids (but our last time there was our honeymoon LOL so who was looking!)

Wow, that is scary. It's just crazy that we keep having these issues with our food chain -- you want to eat healthily and then get warnings about spinach, watermelons, tomatoes, etc.

Watermelons?? I missed that one! Luckily (or unhealthily) our grocery store sells carp for fresh vegis so I rarely buy any produce :(

Anyone have any SoCal entertainment book coupons that they are not going to use????

I am looking for Petersen Automotive 2-for-1 admission, in particular.

The 2-for-1 coupon saves us $7. We will need a few more.
DH wants to take the family there. We are very car-oriented (OBSESSED!) hot rodders over here!

I bought one LA entertainment book, so I have a bunch of extras for other places, if anyone is looking for anything else, send me a PM!

Went thru both my OC books (large & small) and Petersen is not even listed in it. It must be an LA thing only??
Sorry!

Thanks Joel...... Just trying to keep track!!!! We hate to miss anyone!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 She did do an awesome job on the FE!!!!:woohoo:

Today DD gets a call from the doctors office that DGD definitely had salmonella. :worried: :worried:

I hope she is much better very soon. We are well aware of what that yucky 's' is all about, our oldest got it at 6 months of age. We think he got it from his pacifier touching the counter in the kitchen as I used (note: past tense) to buy fresh chicken and then freeze it.:scared1:

We aren't in with the big group for a couple of reasons. For one thing, there are 5 of us, as opposed to one family, so it really wouldn't be very fair to anyone for us to be in the group.

With what we are getting, I would be happy to put 5 in your FE. You're going to love them!:cool1:

 Speaking of FE's. I went out today and bought the things to make ours. I am so excited. I will show you when I am done.

Our kids were the only kids when I was there. They have been to lots of "nice" resturants, so no one was complaining! We didnt find it anymore expensive than Napa Rose. Mabey things have changed?

Problem is his hair doesn't get longer, it gets bigger. And it is not a pretty sight.

Child of the 80's??? :rotfl2:

I've got 50 kids signed up so far.
Not sure if I posted it or not, but I'd really prefer 1 postcard per kid, not per family so no one feels left out and no arguments over who gets the postcard.

Hum. That's a lot of postcard to manage....

Could everyone punch a hole in the corner of their post cards? Then we can hang them on a loose leaf ring. It'll create a sort of "Rolodex" of postcards for the kids. Or, if a bunch of us could bring hold punches, and a box of loose leaf rings - then we can make the kids do it! :rotfl2:

I don't think anyone will take offense. On the contrary, I suspect I will be but the first who must apologize in advance - for I'm afraid that while wandering the decks dropping off gifts at some absurd time of night, it's possible I might accidentally drop something into your FE (or that of others who aren't participating). I'll try to avoid it, but if it happens, I apologize in advance for the family strife that it will cause. :worried:

Oh, I better apologize in advance too! No FE gifts will be coming home. So, if I've got more in the box then we have signed up - random cabins will be getting the "leftovers" ;)

.

Joel.....Please tell Shella that I loved your FE! I meant to say that before, but had so much to ketchup on, I missed it! :goodvibes She did a great job! :thumbsup2

Watermelons were either last summer or the summer before . . . salmonella again, as I recall. Nothing I have heard lately about other than the tomatoes, though.

Could you please keep us informed on the postcards for kids, to get it right on the cruise and whats required ta.

I think the hole punch & ring idea is great!

I always thought Napa Rose was more expensive! It was worth it though! We always got the wine pairings and it was great!

I thought we were past all that. Darn it. Poor kiddo!! I hope she's feeling all better now. That's so hard with little ones. Hugs all the way around!!
